We have family in Spray and visit often passing thru Mitchell on the way. i typically stop here on my way to ward off sleepiness when we go over "car sick mountain ", as my kids call it. This time I ordered my drink and dug out the cash for the price that was posted on the sign (5.25). When my drink was ready she said 7.25. I asked why it was 7.25 and she said because the sign doesn't reflect the current prices. I paid for my drink and didn't fight her (I should have) as I figured she's probably just an employee. But this shop is currently scamming their customers. Such a shame for the only drive thru for between John Day and Pineville and a bad example of the areas values. Fix your sign! I'll be curious to see if it's corrected next time we come through. read more

to start off the person serving the food and coffee was either sneezing and sniffling or acting erratic for unsafe reasons upon my arrival. I ordered food and a black coffee and she disappeared for about five minutes which seemed strange to me. she returned and sneezed promptly all over both hands which were holding food and covfefe. I for some dumb reason still accepted the food and paid hoping to get out of there. food had multiple hairs, none of which actually matched her very distinctive hair colour. she then sniffled and wiped her nose using the hand holding the coffee. I paid and noticed thick dirt on her hands. not good, in terms of ambiance it looked very dingy inside and at no time did I hear a sink read more

The food is homemade. The breakfast burritos are big and yummy!! The Pumpkin Latte was also delicious!

Thank God for this espresso stop! I was having an awful headache because my dumb butt forgot to bring portable coffee maker on this road trip thru rural Oregon. I really wasn't expecting it but all the sudden Route 66 Espresso popped up literally out of nowhere. Great drinks, very friendly service and it was super quick. My dogs also loved their dog treats, they would definitely rate this place 5/5. It's good to know this place is there to save the day. If you're ever around this smal community for any reason, even just passing through I'd recommend stopping by for the quick pick-me-up. :) read more

This place is under new ownership as of September 2020. The drink was luke-warm at best as well as weak and ungodly expensive. Sure miss Christy who use to own it. She was always so sweet, the drinks were perfect and affordable and she never treated you like she was holier than you. If you're traveling east continue on to Dayville. Stopped here on a Monday morning when it seemed like almost everything else in Mitchell was closed. So we were already relieved to have found a spot for coffee. After looking at the menu we realized they had a lot of good food options too so decided to get breakfast too. We got 2 lattes, the biscuits and gravy, and the breakfast burrito and loved all of it. The biscuits and gravy was some of the best I've ever had. They mentioned they use the same recipe as the local cafe and it's a family recipe. A true gem. read more

My fiancé and I stopped here on our way to the painted hills and the guy was super nice! Our drinks were bomb, and I also got a muffin and he warmed it up for me so the chocolate was all melty and delicious! No one has ever heated up my muffin before so that was awesome! Thank you!! read more

My girlfriend falls asleep on car rides so easily that it's kinda frustrating. We'll be driving through some amazing scenery, and I'll shake her leg and tell her "wake up!" and she'll perk up and get all wide-eyed and yell, "I'M UP! I'M UP!" And no less than five seconds later, I look over and see her nodding back to sleep. On our recent roadtrip through the Eastern Oregon outback, she missed so many breathtaking views, and I was kinda bummed not to have anyone to talk to. So, on our way to the amazing Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, I saw this little coffee kiosk and pulled up to the window. I'm not a coffee drinker. I had a coffee candy epiphany at age nine--I thought it was gonna be chocolate!!!--and I've never had a drop of coffee in my whole life. But I do recognize when a coffee smells especially good. And my girlfriend's coffee smelled pretty good! And she stayed awake throughout the entire drive out to the Painted Hills and back, and she was even awake all the way up Hwy 207 to Condon....so this place really enhanced our roadtrip! It's located on a long stretch of road with minimal refreshments, so keep this place in mind if you're planning a drive through Mitchell. read more

We found the drive up Route 26 Coffee kiosk on a cross country bicycle trip. They actually care about epresso quality and know how to correctly steam and froth milk! How refreshing. They have a large espresso and non espresso menu along with pastries and breakfast items. Make this a certain stop on beautiful scenic Route 26. The owner is super friendly, too! read more

My husband had an iced mocha which looked and tasted pretty darn good...the kids each had a cookies and cream smoothie. ..stole a sip of theirs and those were delish! My husband decided to try the pulled pork sandwich which pretty much shocked me because I would never ever think of buying a pulled pork sandwich at a coffee stand! But apparently they make their own pulled pork, and it was pretty good..a little on the saucy/sweet side, but still good enough to enjoy! Who knew? read more

Route 26 Espresso is such a wonderful place to stop for coffee on our way to Dayville. We love Christy, she is warm and friendly and her coffee is always perfect!
