I have used Painting Brothers in the past in my rental unit and recently used them in my home. I was thrilled with their pricing and work a few years ago and I'm happy to say I'm still feeling the same way after working with them once again. I did a virtual estimate with the business owner Jesus, he quoted me a price and they came in very close to that figure. There was a little more drywall work that needed to be done (which I could see with my own eyes) so I agreed to add another $150 to my quoted price. All in all, they came in under what I had budgeted for the project. Antonio did a fantastic job with the drywall work and painting and the project was completed on time as promised. I didn't like that I had to re-explain what work needed to be done when the guys came to paint. If I wasn't there directing them, would all the work have even been completed? I didn't know the color of the paint the last painter used on the ceiling and instead of giving me a day to figure it out, they were pushy and I ended up paying an extra $600 to paint the entire ceiling even though it didn't need it. The reason we hired them was to repair damaged drywall - one guy did a good job around our skylights, the other one did an abysmal job in our kitchen. 2 days after they painted, some paint was peeling/bubbling. We tried to contact Jesus multiple times to fix it but were COMPLETELY IGNORED. read more

We've used Painting Brothers at our home several times in the past and each project came out spectacular! We recently hired them again to paint our front room and upstairs hallway, including spindles and rails that we have. When my wife and I look at the completed project, we look in awe at how it all looks. Jesus and his crew are very hard workers and we both appreciate all the efforts he and his crew put forth, including being very detail orientated. It's hard for me to comment knowledgeably about the value as I didn't do a lot of comparison and I don't do a lot of painting; it did feel, though, that they were rather expensive. However, they were all business and were highly professional. Really easy to communicate with. They were responsive and turned the entire job - which was a dining room, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a foyer - around in one day!! And the result was beautiful. So I'd pay the premium for that kind of service, responsiveness, and results. I'll use them again. read more

Jesus came out quickly to give us a quote and was willing to work around our roofers and gutter installers. The prep and painting was decent. They left a ton of paint chips after pressure washing, but they'll eventually go away. But I'm giving 1 star because of what happened with the details. I was also getting my fiberglass shutters painted. The shutters were held on by special metal brackets (not screwed in). When the team took off the shutters -- being 30 years old -- some of the metal brackets cracked. Totally understandable. In response, I offered to purchase replacement brackets and install them. Jesus told me not a problem -- he'd just drill through the shutters and screw them directly into the brick. I explicitly told him NO! I made myself clear I didn't want more holes in our brick or new holes in the flawless shutters. I ordered the new brackets in Amazon with next day delivery. I made this clear to three members of the paining team: Jesus's son, one of the painters, and Jesus himself. All three acknowledged. When Jesus told me his was done the next day, I asked about the shutters and how they managed to install with half of the brackets being broken (was still waiting on Amazon to show up). He replied that he SCREWED THEM into the brick and mortar! Literally the opposite of what I asked him to do. This wasn't a miscommunication. I was clear. There was clear acknowledgment. This was intentional laziness. Even with his bondo repair, I'm expecting the fiberglass to de-laminate in the next couple years. They don't make them like they used to. Replacement shutters are ~$500 per pair. read more

How do I start, well in all my years I've never had a better experience dealing with painters. Jesus the owner responded to my initial request within a day, set a time to come look at the job and gave me a fair quote. The day of the job he sent his crew, Jose, Luis, Hector & Juan. They were on time and did a great job, they painted our finished basement and added a new window that I added to the job after the fact. Work was done professionally, quickly and right the first time. Before they finished they cleaned up as if they hadn't even been there. It was extremely reasonable and they were able to start right away! They came this past Monday promptly at 8am with 6 guys total! They repainted our entire house in one day and it looks amazing!! Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect when I did a random Google search for a drywall contractor in the area. Painting Brothers came up and the reviews were good so I figured I'd give it a shot. Recently we had a leak in our kitchen ceiling that was from the master bathroom by the tub. Chicago Fire and Restoration were out mitigating all of the damage but left a large hole in the ceiling as well as all the stuff in the bathroom. I also just put up a new TV and needed a few repairs with drywall holes patched etc. I talked to Jesus, he was awesome, had a virtual estimate completed in no time and within 2 days his team came to do the work. Without sounding silly or anything, we were blown away. They were here for a total of about 6 hours and the house looks perfect - like nothing ever happened. We asked them to hold off on painting a few areas because we needed to get the matching paint which they did, but even the primer they put on looks awesome. We are so beyond thrilled with the work they did and will be calling on them again soon to drywall our entire garage and paint it as well. 10/10 would recommend. We had our 3 story house painted in July 2023 by Painting Brothers. Jesus, the owner along with his son came out to give me a proposal the following day as requested. 1. They were on time. 2. They submitted a very detailed quote. 3. They were very easy to communicate with. 4. They sent a cert of insurance the following day direct from insurance company. 5. They had a very competitive price. 6. They showed up the following day with 12 painters and numerous equipment. All painters were professional and all wore the same company tee shirt. 7. I have never seen a crew so organized and knew exactly what to do. They finished the job in 4 days. No mess. No problems. Terrible experience. Poor quality work and if you get a quote make sure it's in writing. Project Manager gives a quote, foreman starts job right away calls PM who's in Mexico and starts asking for more money right away. The foreman on-site never saw the job they quoted but calls a guy in Mexico and says job is bigger. ??? nothing changed. Do not hire them. Painted 2 bathroom ceilings 6 weeks ago and the paint is flaking off. Worst company I have dealt with in years. Won't ever use or recommend them to anyone even if I need a doghouse painted. I HAD to give Jesus the one star, but they deserve NEGATIVE stars. They are cheats, they try to rip you off with extra purchases (which they offer to buy for you that they say they need), but purchase excessive amounts and try to pass them off collecting the money in CASH ONLY. CHEATERS, CHEATERS, CHEATERS!! The painting job was OK, but they damaged my walls coming and going out of my house, my expensive bedroom furniture has been severely chipped, scratched and damaged, my stainless steel kitchen appliances were scratched and dented by their non-English speaking young help when painting my kitchen. Jesus has an arrogant, nasty attitude and he talks back. WE are older folks and have been "around the block" - Jesus did not FOOL us!! When damage was pointed out to Jesus, his response was "it's no big deal????".....huh??? Damaging expensive furniture and appliances that don't belong to Jesus and that are brand new IS NOT A BIG DEAL? He argues and argues to adnauseum and is just plain RUDE!! I wouldn't hire this group to paint a GRAVE!! EXPENSIVE and NOT WORTH THE DAMAGE and CHEATING they try to do! The work is very good and the price is very reasonable. Courteous and talented crew that generally keeps the worksite clean and is committed to doing a good job. Worked hard through a rainy Spring to complete the exterior job as scheduled. My only concerns were in the area of communication. Getting a written estimate was not as easy as it could have been. Also, inevitable extras found as the job went on were reasonably priced and well done, but again not documented. Also, not always sure on which days they were going to come and paint. This was all mitigated as Jesus, the owner, was relatively easy to get hold of on the phone. They did a good job with painting the exterior of my home. After the quote he said they could start the following Monday. I hadn't heard from him so I had to contact him but they couldn't start until later. He called the afternoon before they would start. I made the mistake of not getting the pricing and what was included in writing and he said that we didn't talk about several things and asked for more money. He had already taken the wood off and because I was really upset he wanted more money for other items we talked about when he gave the quote a earlier he said he could just leave it as is and I could hire someone else. We had several pieces of wood that needed to be replaced and he took them out and was pounding the pieces against the thin sheet brick on my house. When they painted the front door they didn't get all the grit off from sanding it down first. A small piece of sheet brick is missing by our bay window so we asked the painters about it and they said they didn't do it. We couldn't find the brick anywhere. My husband talked to Jesus about these issues and he said he would stop by next week. Still haven't heard back and I'm assuming we never will. He was higher priced than competitors too. I paid $1600 for the front trim on a 2100 st home. read more
