I thought Dan Dulce, the CEO/owner was not only prompt with his return calls but also thorough assessment and estimate for all patchwork, painting, and work needed to be done in our home. With his MANY years of experience & reported expertise....the fact he was a local , family orientated guy appealed to me and my partner. Dan came with 31 five star ratings at the time of my contacting him. That's 31 out of 31 people sang his praises. ( very impressive! ) I believe you still get what you pay for more times than not, and though he was a little more money than I thought his attention to detail that he said he brings seem like it was more than worth it for us. Dann himself , never did any of the work here , that's fine. He was busy and sent out an experienced 2 man crew ( his words ) . He said he put ' one of his best' , Michael, to head up the job at our home. To say, Michael and the assistant did a poor overall job is an UNDERSTATEMENT. The one section , the most time consuming ( our brick wall portion ) They did a good job on that's why I gave them the one star . Literally EVERY other section of the job, it looked as though else like a bunch of 10 year olds on a sugar binge blew through it ! Part of the walls were **missed completely ** and others clearly were uneven strokes, and or dirty brush marks which left, bubbles , paint-drips ;& stains all over our carpet and other parts of the walls and ceilings m. The patch-work consistently , wasn't completed or in some cases ever started!! Unfortunately, i could not be there for the bulk of the middle of day 2 . My gal was there and paid them as well as tipped them for their work ahead of time. Michael, the foreman, who is a friend , and " trusted , experienced painter" gave my partner, these excuses " this has taken too long. We need to go now, to the next job ". and " if we miss something or screwed up something just call Dann and they'll just fix it " ( Friday early pm departure ) Now mind you , this was NOT a " start / stop . Come back whenever " kind of job. We were told they would take 1-2 days and they didn't come close to completing it & left in a hurry , leaving a shotty-mess of a job! i was actually shocked they were 'THIS bad' and when I called Dann Dolce. he , though disappointed, claimed his guys had "no other job to go to " even though that's what they said not only to my partner, but me later on. The level of mistakes was absolutely alarming. I don't think I've ever seen such an AWFUL paint job from ANY professional. Dann Dolce, the owner, received all our photos ( we have even more than here ) and we described to him all that Michael and his associate missed or half-assed. He also was not wanting to fix it right away, which had my jaw on the floor. Dann Dolce, never came out himself to fix it or ever even once apologize for the lies, excuses & never once did he say or message us " i am so sorry for this" or " this is bs " or "unacceptable, i will personally fix this immediately " NOPE NONE OF THAT. NOTHING LIKE IT. DAN INSISTED ON SENDING MICHAEL OUT THERE.... AGAIN ! I will say that Michael is a nice fellow, he isn't rude or belligerent, but , he is full of excuses & lies so much his story changes like a corrupt politician. Some things were VERY clear: Michae & his worker did NOT do what he said he did , so I , after listening to more excuses and BS , went through part by part , mistake by mistake drip by drip, dirty, paintbrush, spots, lack of sanding , spackling clearly more coats of paint runs etc. " Michael, if you were us , would you be happy with this work?" he looked away and said, " NO i wouldn't be" Several other areas were missed completely. It was a truly hatchet job overall minus the brick wall ( they completed very well.) Additionally, there are NEW marks , gouges lines-that we found that weren't there before. DDP , clearly missed this as they were rushing out to get to this "big job they have to finish" because guys " we do 2 1/2 to $3 million homes and new construction jobs all the time this is small will do this no problem, it'll be great " - Michael of DDP Our home was old and had a few issues which we documented to owner, DANN & Michael and his assistant, the level of rushed, sloppy , MISSED & butchered work and the absolute level of apathy is beyond disgusting. Steer clear of this company! NOTE: We had two other contractors in here doing other work throughout the 3rd day weeks later and they both were shaking their heads and told me they couldn't believe how " unprofessional and how sh*tty the work was" , " I can't believe that guy did nothing but give excuses for his crappy work." [Update as of 1-12-16] Latest project: We recently had an emergency project that we absolutely needed immediate painting help with. Dann came through in a pinch! We really appreciated it and were glad to see that his guy, Will, was prompt, clean, and courteous as always. Thanks, Dann! First project [mid-2015]: We paid Dann's company about 20k to paint pretty much the entire interior of our house. Overall, they did an acceptable job. It was a long project with a couple of surprises along the way (some, our fault; some, Dann's), but I won't rehash the specifics here as that does not help you, the prospective client. I'll just list some general points of guidance in dealing with Dann: 1) Dann will meet with you initially and is mostly responsive via text. However, he will not be painting your home; he has his employees do it. Most of them seemed competent enough, but I think there was a weak link in there, which brings me to my next point. 2) If you can, try to regularly supervise and/or inspect their work. After a wall is painted, for instance, look at it closely and run your hand across it. Chances are you will find imperfections and roughness in spots. You will then need to have these guys come back and smooth all of that out, including re-painting. To their credit, they will return and fix their mistakes, but it does make you wonder why they don't just do it correctly the first time. 3) Do the paint sampling yourself. It's cheaper than what Dann charges, plus his guys don't paint enough sample in the room for you to get a good idea of how it would look anyway. Additionally, double-check that the color you choose is exactly what gets put on the walls. Sometimes there are slight discrepancies and you can never be too sure. read more

I have a 6' x 12' front porch/deck that was in need of repainting. I priced out 3 different company's and settles on Dann Dolice. I found his work to be superior, his prices to be competitive, and this all equals a happy customer. His crew of two men sanded the deck and applied two coats of stain with the last coat having some synthetic sand sprinkled on it to help with the footing when the deck is wet. These workers even arrived on the job 10 minutes early. (When was the last time you can remember that happening?) They cleaned up and left no trace that they were here, except leaving a beautiful stained deck behind! They also left some left over stain for any touch ups that might be needed in the future.
