My job and I decided to come for a team outing and Sean Paul was our instructor. He was sooooo amazing. Literally! I would live to be friends with him. His energy. His vibe. Him. He was great. An awesome instructor. I messed up plenty of times and he was there to help my painting look more... artistic as if Picasso painted it himself, instead of a toddler just painting. Lol He brought energy to the class. The music was on point. Even grabbed some hits for my personal Apple Music playlist. He mentioned they have Paint your Pet... and I will definitely be back for that. I was thinking about doing this with my sister, and going to one closer to my home, but I need Sean Paul in my life again. So I will be coming back JUST for that reason alone. read more

I've been to this location twice now for painting classes and couldn't be happier! I came here recently for a work party and we were able to secure the private room since we had a small group. We had a group of 16 girls and were easily able to book the room a few weeks in advance for a Saturday afternoon class. There is a free, private parking lot in front of the store with plenty of spaces. This place is BYOB so feel free to bring as many bottles of wine as you like! A large bucket of ice is provided if you want your wine chilled and they also provide wine glasses and bottle openers. You can also bring your own food to eat- I suggest finger foods as it's easier to eat something quick and small while painting. They also provide you with aprons to protect your clothes from being painted on. TIP- don't wear anything super expensive or special to you- there's a huge risk of getting paint on yourself and we are told it will NOT wash out of clothing. BUT if you happen to get it on your hands or skin (which you WILL)- it will definitely wash out (after a few hand washings). PWAT has thousands of paintings to choose from and if you book a private group party, they allow you to choose whichever painting you want (they email you the link for private group parties). Otherwise, they have a calendar online that shows you which paintings they will be doing each day. Booking is very quick and easy to do online as well. The instructor we had for our group painting was Stacy and she was awesome! So engaging and fun, she made the class extremely entertaining. There were contests and music blasting- the 2 hours I was there flew by extremely quickly. The instructor gives you step by step instructions on how to paint your masterpiece so listen closely!! Stacy went super fast with her instructions so be sure to keep up or speak up if you're behind. My painting didn't turn out too bad (I am super NOT artistic and had low hopes for myself) so I really can't complain. This is definitely a fun night for a group outing or even for date night! Don't be scared or intimidated- even if you're a super UN-artistic, non-creative person like me you will still have a good time, I guarantee it!! read more

My experience here at Painting with a Twist Heights was Awesome! RONI was a pleasure. She gave great instructions throughout the class, walked around and helped those of us who needed extra assistance, she gave compliments and attended to any needs that were asked. Roni's really showed interest in making sure we were satisfied and made the lesson a lot easier. Anytime she was called she Rises to the occasion. She gave us a break to blow dry and stretch. She attended to her refreshment needs, as she should. Roni gave us extra napkins when asked, refilled our water cups if dirty, and even gave out special little prizes at the end of her instruction. The music she played kept the party going and gave us some variety. She even gave a cute ending speech, Mentioned SOS, gave out a painting gift for the birthday person. She even showed us some of her professional artwork, which is very nice! I went here for a company function and I've never painted before. It was fun, but it was also too fast for me. The instructor goes as fast as the fastest painters since there is a time limit. The helper was a bit impatient with my lack of ability at times. I enjoyed it, most likely because of my coworkers. I wouldn't mind doing this again, but maybe with a smaller group so I could get more help or so the instructor and helpers can give more individual help. read more

This location was disappointing. There was a party of women in another room in the back. They were so loud that we couldn't hear our instructor. The instructor didn't seem to care that we weren't receiving his instructions and he didn't even provide good instruction. He would just tell us what to do once and not check in with us or help us. The small brushes came out thick and messed up our paintings. I really like the picture so I want to redo the parts that needed a thin brush but its virtually impossible to make corrections on this one. I'd just have to start all over again, which I think I might just do. When I think of the instructor's name, I will update. read more

I had such a great experience here!!! We walked in almost 13 minutes late and the instructor sat us down and caught us up so fast. I was nervous they wouldn't let us paint. Everyone painting was really cool and the instructor was really down to earth. His tips made my painting look great! Had a decent time with my group. But our instructor was so soft spoken that we barely knew the next step. She would just start on the next step and not tell anyone. She hardly ever told us which brush to do or if she did it would be very quiet. It was frustrating half way through we realized we were missing a brush and she didn't even mention it. When people were asking for help she shared that she has classes to help us improve instead of encouraging our art is great as is. Everything she did was very to the example and no freedom to fail. Today was my first experience at Painting With A Twist. It was really fun. Yancy B led the class thru the steps to paint a colorful snowman. When I arrived, everything was already prepared for each person. Canvas, paints, paintbrushes, and paper towels already set out for each painter. There were adults as well as children in the class. Yancy B did a great job leading us thru the steps to paint the snowman. His pace was perfect, he described then demonstrated each step, he was open minded to all the changes people added to customize their snowman. He also made sure to check on each person which was helpful and made us all feel comfortable. Everyone's painting looked great in the end. Please forgive me Yelp community! I could have shared how great P-WAT is a long time ago! Been to this P'WAT location three times--two for birthday parties and one just for a night out with the girls. It has been a spectacular experience from beginning to end all occassions! All three times I had different instructors and each one was professional and fun as well as helpful and encouraging. Not the spoil the experience, but the music trivia game during the painting session is really fun and definetly adds another twist to the experience! If you've never painted before, you will walk out with a masterpiece regardless! My mom came to the last bday paint and sip and she loved the experience! Once more, when you have a large party of painters, they provided an assistant who makes sure everyone received that one on one instruction to make their painting a work of art or 911 intervention (like when you overpaint an area of your canvas--it happens! No worries. Let it dry then repaint it with the correct color)! Only problem with this location is the building. Although they have repainted the parking area to accomodate more vehicles, the space inside is what really needs expansion. There are two painting areas in the building that can accomodate guests, BUT there is only 1 bathroom in the entire building. When it was just our party of patrons in the building, traffic flow to the john was okay, but the other party that came in had a mixture of adults and kids. The kids in this particular party were quite active- a little loud and messy when they left the bathroom. However, it would be hard to maintain the facilities when there is only one bathroom that everyone has to use. Although I say that this location is accomodating numerous patrons, more aisle space would be nice. The tables are quite narrow when you put the easels and painting supplies on them. Last time. I literally held my easel with one hand and painted with the other to avoid bumping another easel. Luckilt I found a seat that had been skipped because Im clumsy--I need elbow room! If you are painting by the outer walls, you have even less space to move around and for people to move around you, which is why I decided to stand versus sit while I painted. I hope this doesnt sound like Im complaining because I do enjoy the visits to P-WAT, but the reality is that the building is lacking space, but the prime location in the Heights I'm sure would make it hard to give up just for the luxury of elbow room and bathroom time for patrons. All in all, you must try paint with a twist if you've never did it before. If you have, I'm sure you're planning on going again real soon! read more
