Me and my husband went to painting with a twist on Friday night for Valentine's Day weekend. Tickets were booked online. When we arrived it was a bit hidden, honestly difficult to find the entrance door. Once we entered we didn't see anyone and hear anything so we kept on walking and found the restrooms then the area where they have class. We were greeted and picked a seat near the front. We were painting two separate painting that came together In the end. The class started a bit late but the instructor wasn't that great. She did walk us through what we needed to do- previous classes ive had the instructors would fix your painting if they needed to. The teacher sometimes did not tell us the next step for ex- she was painting in the front but didn't tell us what to do exactly. Overall- we got a cute painting out of it but I think instructors make the class better. read more

Mrs. Elizabeth, the new owner, made our kids first Painting with a Twist experience nothing short of incredible! Our kids decided to do the paint your pet event less than a week after our family dog crossed the rainbow bridge. It was a great way to honor and remember him! I messaged the location about our decision and to prepare them for our possible emotions. I received a personal reply back and they assured me that they were ready to help support us and make it a memorable experience. It ended up being just our family for the event and instead of just cancelling, Mrs. Elizabeth gave our kids a private painting session and was so supportive and kept asking to hear stories about our fur kid! Beautiful family bonding time. Very organized, friendly staff and clean! We had a group of fifteen including four small children. Everybody was participating. The two birthday people received a free painting anywhere and any size in the store. It is byob so feel free to bring any beverages of choice. This location is definitely hidden and can appear sketchy at night when you pull up. This was my first time doing anything like this and I am glad we went on couples night for valentine's day. Lots of good energy, clean building and they even dolled up the joint for valentine's day. All artist levels are welcome! Definitely great when the room is filled. Especially during game time break time. I highly recommend doing this activity and coming to this location! read more

I would only like it more if every color was offered since the beginning and not only what they give you for their base painting, this allows for more creativity. My son and I visited this location during the Winter break and we had a great time. Our instructor Chris was excellent. He connected with my son and allowed him to play his favorite music while we painted. I agree. The place was a bit sketchy at night (back door entrance) but we were pleasantly surprised with the professionalism and genuine good time we had. read more

Today is horrible day. I am deaf. My Neice is 13 year old and her birthday on May 11. I purchased last week before her birthday. She always painting in her room. I want to surprised her for first time. I remember I looked at the time 7-9pm. But time was changed 4-6pm. I dont have text for remind me today. I checked email and look for the address. Somehow time was changed. I'm shock and rush to the place. I only ask her if there is other way to reschedule or refund. But I can paid another date. I paid $80 for us. Lady said her boss said no ma'am. Because I wasn't on time or show up late. I feel bad for my Neice. I trying explain her but I'm deaf. I can't argue with her. There are no solve problems. If the owner can able to reschedule and it would be less problem. She will be happy for the first time. I was like come on. I got none text for reminding me. This is ridiculous. read more

Today We had reservations at Painting with a twist Pearland location for the couples picture at 7pm. When we arrived at 7:10pm the painter was still drawing on the canvas so we sat down. Around 7:18pm an influx of people for a party came in they had no seats available at that time. We saw that everyone was in couples we were 4 women so we offered to get up and allow the party to be seated. The painter apologized and offered us a refund but told us that she would call the owner. The owner then called the head of our reservation on her personal phone and was very rude trying to convince us to stay. We said we don't mind staying but there was no where to sit or paint she then stated "You not finna tell me that and I know my building holds 44 people" at that time we say oh no hang up. So the painter informs us she the owner "Oneida N. Cage" stated she was on her way. So we waited outside 5 minutes later 2 Pearland police officers pull up to the location. They were very nice about everything and stated that the owner couldn't say what we did but that she wanted to issue a criminal trespass on us and that they needed our identification. We wanted to know was this possible if we hadn't done anything. The officers said yes a business owner can issue one for any reason in his words even if they don't like how you look. The Pearland police department was very nice about everything they informed us she kept saying they are not getting refunds and we're very rude to them also. The cops were saddened that they were called out for that. This establishment was sooooo unorganized and then unprofessional at resolving there mistake. The owner was so rude and disrespectful. My father is an attorney so I will be filling a small claims suit on the owner and the business and a class action suit. This was so degrading as we are all business women and professionals. We wanted to paint we thought we were being nice by allowing the party to paint. They also did not start until 7:45pm for the other group. This was such an embarrassing experience and upsetting she didn't attempt to understand that they had over booked the building and that her painter didn't have enough canvas set up. The police office that came out was Noah Middleton and they were apologetic for the owner. Do not support this business. For her to call the police for black women knowing this climate we are living in was disgusting and she could tell by the phone we were African American. DO NOT patron this business. This is not a black owned business or a business you want to patron. read more

This is, hands down, my favorite location! I've attended parties here and had my own party here once and the mood, the location, the instructor was a EVERYTHING! The space is really huge so there's space to move around and interact with your friends/family. It's always clean and staged, ready for you to go when you walk in and it's just an overall nice location to host a party! I will definitely return to this location! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never experience such poor customer service in my life. The owner was extremely rude to me and my friends because we were trying to explain to her there was no canvas for us to paint and no where to sit even though we had reserved. Long story short she said she would come to the establishment to resolve our issue but we later learned that she would be calling the police. She never showed up and ask the officers to issue us a citation. We were peaceful and only looking to be seated and if there were no seats we asked that we be refunded. Her behavior was inappropriate. Please listen to me and know that I'm being truthful when I say that the owner of this establishment does not deserve your business. read more

This is for the night of October 28th for the Pick a Side Marigold & Rosa. I'm afraid I don't have ANY positive feedback regarding my visit to your art studio. Class was 7-10pm, the instructor didn't show up until 7:30 and we didn't start painting until 8:20 pm! She did not introduce herself or offer an apology for the delay. As we tried to follow along, she merely kept to herself and painted quietly on the platform. Instruction was minimal. We tried our best to paint along using the picture from your website on our phones. I'd also like to point out that two other people left before we even started, they were very disappointed. We tried to make the best of it, but perhaps we were better off leaving too. I can send pics of the instructor's work if you like to see it as well. Looked nothing like it was supposed to, partially due to the bad condition of the brushes. New brushes are very much needed at your location! We started very late and felt rushed out the door at 11:10pm. Not very professional or enjoyable at all. read more

Swan showed up right when class was supposed to start , she was TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL she didn't have anything ready made us wait an hour And 15 minutes till we started ,and her stencil looked absolutely nothing like the picture she even said "not the best" while she was passing out the canvas with her stencils and while she was getting things ready she kept texting people she just was unprofessional and wasted time and money very disappointed that I couldn't paint what I paid for. read more

This was my first visit here. I have done painting a few other times with other companies. I really liked how they had a camera pointed at the instructor canvas and screen on the opposite side of the room so no matter where you sat you could have a good view of the steps. I also enjoyed the games we played throughout the class. What's more is I could finally bring my oldest, who is 15 and been bugging me forever to take her, and it didn't have to be a kids class. The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars was because at times the music was a little loud for us to hear the instructor. I had such a great time. The instructor helped us in any way that we wanted to personalize our canvas. They give you a canvas with the silhouette of what ever you are drawing already blocked out, and then the instructor instructs you on how to paint each section. It somewhat like a paint by number if you have ever done that before. If you have never painted before they make you look like Picasso. Great experience. read more

Will absolutely never have an event nor attend one at this Pearland location!!!!! The owner is extremely rude and unprofessional! I had a party for my 11yr old here and on the website it quotes $27pp with a minimum party of 15 people. The agreement I received also stated $405 minimum (15 people @ $27pp). A few days before the party I called to ask a few questions and pay the balance only to be told by the owner, who's name I didn't get because of how she answers the phone, that the price is different from my calculations. She rudely told me I was wrong and asked where was I getting that information from and proceeded to fast talk and talk over me demanding my card information. After about 15min of a very uncomfortable and unprofessional exchange, she said there was a price increase form $27 to $28, which if that was true, why not say that in the beginning!!!! My daughter was really looking forward to this and I did not want to disappoint her, I just agreed to pay. She then says, it's only an $11 difference!!!! Its not about the money, it's about what's stated on YOUR website and in the agreement sent to me!!!!I've NEVER experienced an encounter like this with a business owner, from the rude tone, words and unprofessional demeanor!!! I recently took a class here and had so much fun! The location was in a corner where you would not have found the place at all unless you really tried. It was my first painting class experience and I can honestly say it was worth the $35. It is $35 for a 2 hr session and $45 for a 3 hr session. The $35 includes an apron, canvas, paint, and brushes. The artist and helper interact with you and go step by step on how to paint the painting. The time went by so fast because all you are doing is relaxing and having fun! My Mom and Aunt took a class here and it didn't go well. This was in May. We have probably gone to at least a half dozen classes around Houston but never at this location. My Aunt was visiting from out of town. We took her to a class during her last visit and it was great so we thought going again would be a nice evening. The class was small and the instructor was rushing thru it. She even picked up their paint after different steps and at the end of the class she promptly took their brushes away. Now we've been to enough of these to know that you usually have a couple minutes to add finishing touches to your painting. Not at this place. We would not recommend. Go to another location with better customer service. read more
