We had a birthday celebration for our friend at this location. The instructor had the good tunes going and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The party was on the weekend and in the evening so parking wasn't too bad. There are several restaurants to dine at and a liquor store in the same shopping center if you want to pick up your choose of drinks before painting or eat first. It is BYOB and you are allowed to bring snacks in though. We had an absolute blast even though painting is clearly not any of my groups calling in life. The turtle was considered one of the harder paintings and it really was a lot. If you haven't been to Painting with a Twist yet, you need to try it soon! It's so much fun. read more

My daughter went to a birthday party here, and while she had a lot of fun, I left kind of meh. Prior to this I'd been to the PWAT in Friendswood twice and had great experiences, so I'm not ignorant on the concept. The birthday girl picked a dolphin, and the girls painting did a pretty decent job considering they were ages 8-9. But I was incredibly unimpressed with the teenage girl leading the class, Jules. I guess I expect a person leading a painting twist to do a better job leading the class. As a teacher I know how hard it is to get a class under control, and Jules couldn't do that. I get it, it's a party and she's not their mom; how vet, talking over children who are not listening to you to show them how to paint something is counter productive. I also found her actual painting skill to be pretty sad for a person leading a painting class. She referred to a prepainted painting more than her own work while teaching. And her own work didn't look much better than some of the girls in the class. I get that she's just a teenager, but this is a job where artistic talent is needed and hers was lacking. My daughter now wants to do this for her party, and I'm honestly not so sure. I'd hate to pay all that money to have Jules teach the class. read more

This was my second class "paint -n-sip" class and my first experience at Painting with a Twist. I really liked the lead/ owner because she provided instruction on mixing colors and the type of brush strokes to use so that your painting would have the feeling of the sample. What a great evening! We had a party of ten, the class was packed, and we all had a blast! The girls who were running this event were fun, encouraging, and upbeat, and we all had a good time singing along to the music they were playing. They provide the canvas, paints and brushes, as well as aprons, cups, corkscrews and the like. Alcohol is welcome, as is food, but honestly you'll be busy painting during the two hours you're there. I signed up for a paint class. About a week before the owner called to let me know that I was the only one that had signed up for the class so far. She notified me that she would turn the class into a "pick your paint" class, but the instructor would still be there doing the painting with me, and helping others in the class with their own paintings. That was fine with me. She then contacted me a day or so before the event to let me know that 2 other people had signed up for the class, so it could remain open. Great! Made sure again that the instructor would be painting with me, because I'm terrible on my own. She assured me she was. I get there, instructor was 30-45 minutes late. Then, she handed me a piece of paper with instructions. I asked what that was, and she explained that those were the instructions for my painting. I explained what what owner told me, and she gave me a little "ugh" *sigh and said "I guess I'll do it. She didn't have my board ready for me with the things pre-sketched on it like it was supposed to. After doing a step with me, she would just kind of sit there and stare at me while I worked, which was uncomfortable. The entire experience was the worst I've had with PWAT and probably the worst experience I've had in years with any kind of class, ever. Only good thing was the owner was nice. Sucks, because this is the studio closest to me. I found a better one in Friendswood. I drive 35 minutes instead of 12 for a much better experience. read more

Let's sum this one up... a place based around painting and wine, had a broken wine opener. Haha! The class was ok but the small details could have been better. They originally sat everyone so close together that there wasn't any space to work. We moved and spread out a bit. The instructor wasn't very lively. She had a few funny jokes, but she seemed very tired. The music from the private party in the room next door kept spilling into our room over our teacher and our music. This was definitely not the best PWAT experience I've had. read more

Love this place. It's a lot of fun. They make it difficult for even the completely untalented (such as myself) mess up art. Great atmosphere! Great employees! They have kids classes (no alcohol allowed) that my 11 year old really enjoys. I've done girls night out here. Great for birthdays, bachelorette parties, etc. They have the music pumping. Drink your beverage of choice (BYOB) and get artsy! They supply everything but drinks and food- bring your own. However, our favorite is to go eat Ichibon next door before or after class! After my last review, I was able to visit PWAT again, thanks to the outreach from the managers I'm very happy they reached out to me and I was able to secure another reservation with a couple of friends for 9/3/15. The instructor, Kassandra, was very upbeat and patient with us which made things more inviting and fun! It was nice to be guided without pressure and she assured us our paintings were fine, helping as needed! This experience completely changed how I viewed PWAT, as The atmosphere was so much more relaxed, friendly, and Kassandra is very funny! PWAT Pasadena is AWESOME! We had a great time at the couple's night with Alex as our instructor. My first experience with PWAT Pasadena was "so so" and I had emailed the owner and told her of some of the things I thought could be done better, and it appears that many changes have been made and this night was TOP NOTCH! We had a wonderful night together. Alex was wonderful, and lead the class without too much "expectation" type instruction, so you felt like if you did something a little different or couldn't follow his direction, you were still comfortable. The other couples all had fun, and we all talked and laughed. The men also all seemed very comfortable. I would recommend PWAT, especially with Alex as the instructor, as a date night ANY time!!! This is the third or fourth paint class I've taken and hands down the best. I don't remember taking a break at the other studios to turn up, lol. While we waited on the first part of our portraits to dry, they called all of the birthday people to the stage and we danced for about 10 minutes. To my surprise, the music was on point...so much fun! A nice variety of music to tap into everyone's taste. The staff were extremely nice. Everyone walked out with a huge smile on our face. Went to this location for a honeymoon shower and had a great time. This is my second time doing something like this so I was familiar with the process. The girls who helped us were fun and upbeat and kept it interesting and they played music that was appropriate for all ages and that everyone would know. The facility itself was clean and tidy, I didn't use the restroom but plenty of us did and they were pleased with the state of it. Several women needed more paint (myself included) a few different times during the process and it was no problem and the girls were more than willing to hand more out than the initial amount. Afterwards they helped us clean up and gather our items....we will definitely be returning to this location and I hope the same girls are the ones that help us next time. So I read the reviews on here after attending a few classes myself and was so surprised to see anything negative. I have to chalk that up to negative sometimes happens and I am sorry she experienced it. I have been to this location 5 times, twice with my kids and the rest as "girls nights". We have always had an amazing time and walked away with art that I am surprised I am capable of painting (especially given the "twist"!). this facility is always clean, friendly and lots of fun. The restaurant next door is a bonus. I would absolutely recommend this location for a girls night out or a family friendly activity. read more

My granddaughter, 5, and I went today and we had a blast! She loves to paint, use crayons and displays here feeling through art, so I thought this would be perfect for her. She was able to follow along, (Grandma had to make sure she was caught up all the time), and she was able to do each step. She would have been overwhelmed with the picture but step by step with grandma to back her up, she is very proud of her picture. I plan to visit myself with a friend and just paint whatever they are doing that night. read more

I went to a painting class selena was our instructor everything was fun until half way through our session with paisley art were told to switch brushes and a women came around to pick up our brushes leaving us with one I asked can I hold on to it to add color since we were being rushed she smurked and left it then came back 5 minutes later and asked if we were done.. it was a good experience but I wish we could take our time to paint since that's what we're paying for we took a class photo that took 10 mins until everyone could position themselves with out acting childish I could have used that time to PAINT. read more

Owners were short with me. Kathy, I think her name was, seemed like her cell phone was more important than helping me sign up. Teacher didn't even answer my questions. Never told me her name either. Place was dirty- floors were sticky and bathroom was just gross! I threw my painting away when I got home. It was a waste of time and money. Never going back.
