They have a very good reputation however I just called the try and make an appointment and they ask if it's an insurance claim or are you gonna try and pay it yourself and I answered I don't know as I don't know how much it's going to be I would like an estimate and they told me it's $53. If I decided to do the work they'll apply towards the work and if I don't, it cost me $53. I'm not happy about that. Brought to have truck repair after side swiped in traffic. Repairs are terrible, unsafe and incomplete due to the body shop lighting interior on fire and scorching entire back seat area. Owner tried covering it up and lied. Insurance company investigated and totaled out 2026 gmc 3500 Denali ultimate. It's over $100,000 truck so you can imagine how much damage was caused for that to happen. Every person who saw the truck repairs while waiting for insurance company, has never seen such terrible work but everyone guessed the name of the shop without being told. Apparently it's common knowledge but i am unsure or I would not have brought it to such an incapable facility. And I found out he's not even gmc certified. Extremely unhappy and owner was considered a s a friend. If this is how a friend is treated, imagine how strangers would be. If anyone has had repair done here, go to a certified dealer and have them inspect the repairs. DMV can do it also. They came and saw my truck. Hopefully this gets stopped before someone gets hurt over unsafe repairs. I've talked to former employees and "smoke and mirrors" is motto. Cuts a lot of corners and doesn't hesitate to cob repairs. That's why they are former employees. But secrets always get out. I have paperwork, pics, other repair shop estimates to repair and reports from insurance company stated how unsafe and bad this is. Incompetent Shop. Insurance suggested I go here after a minor accident because they work with this shop and it would be quick and easy. It's my mistake in taking this advise. Told me it would take two days to replace the front grill and take care of the front assist. Took 8 days to get my car back after being rudely lied to daily about when it would be ready. Turns out they were not even qualified to fix the front assist. Didn't do the repair correctly, put on a different front grill. If you value your car don't go here. read more

I hired Paintworx to paint and install parts on my 2023 Toyota Supra. The delivery was totally botched with a dead battery, check engine light, missing parts, and lost time. Three weeks later the hatch was full of water and the spoiler had disconnected from the vehicle after the incorrect hardware that the shop owner provided fell out. I have screenshots of the photos he sent me of the incorrect hardware in his hand. Dave denies all responsibility and places the blame on the spoiler manufacturer. My car was worked on here and the quality of work is very poor. The were supposed to replace my quarter panel and told me they are waiting in the part and why it's taking so long. Had the car for a month and they did not even touch it. In the end the repaired the quarter panel but the actual paint job was very poor. Did not mask off other parts of the car and painted over the window seals . There was a lot of overspray and did not blend the panels. The owner dave just sits in his office and does not take responsibility for any of the poor work yet boasts about how good of a business owner he is. They took my boyfriends car in, harbored it for an entire month, made it worse, banged up the wholeeee side door and repainted with DIFFERENT color paint over it (forgot the last mark, though) and refuse to take responsibility or show us original photos, saying you can't see the original photo if we zoom in because of the blurry "pixels" this is how you treat working class people. I had some wind damage to my car and needed an estimate for the repairs. There were a lot of scratches and some dents, but nothing major. The car was damaged Wednesday afternoon, and I called this place later that afternoon to see if they could review it and give me an estimate. "Sure", I was told, "we can look at it Friday." So, I arranged to drop it off Thursday night and they would have it all Friday to fit into their schedule. Friday came and went, and they didn't have it done. Because it was a holiday weekend, and they aren't open on weekends, they essentially had my car for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. On Tuesday afternoon, I called them and they hadn't even started it yet. So, I had my wife drive me over around 30 minutes before they closed and I sat in their waiting room until they got to it. I didn't want to be without my car for another day. Around 5PM they went outside, took some pictures, and in less then 10 minutes I had my estimate. The quote isn't important for this review... and I didn't have them do the work either. Ironically, as I sat around waiting for them I noticed a sign they have at their entranceway saying that they do non-appointment, drive-in estimates quick. I get that they were busy. I get that they want to be closed on a holiday. But, when we talked on the phone they assured me they could do it. I went out of my way to work around their schedule by giving them two business days, and three weekend/holiday days, to do what amounted to a 10 minute job. And had I not physically sat in their office on Tuesday afternoon, I am positive they wouldn't have gotten to it that day. That is terrible service. read more

Brought my car in to have the front and rear bumpers replaced. They took months to paint the new bumpers. When I dropped my vehicle off they had it for way longer than they originally told me. Fat forward a year and the paint is flaking off the bumpers. Upon inspection they did no prep work and they never even primer the bumper. Very poor workmanship for way to much money. I selected this company because they were associated with my insurance. I understand that I had a difficult situation with multiple claims/companies involved. However, after 2 weeks I still didn't have an answer as to whether or not my car would be getting fixed or totaled or what. When I said that the owner went OFF on me. Maybe don't be rude and defensive for your lack of staff/capability of attempting to communicate with your customers. He tried to make me feel guilty when he stayed 20 min past closing when I said I just needed to drop the car off (I arrived before closing time). He insisted we do the paperwork at that time. Treat your customers with more respect. They might be the best mechanics in the business but I wouldn't know because my car is still there. Also, wear your masks properly. It goes OVER the nose. Simply this was the worse experience I ever had with a vehicle. My new Cadillac XT6 was butchered and the shop refused to acknowledge or accept responsibility for the damage. A very poor paint job. But after a long fought battle in court I win with overwhelming evidence. I strongly suggest if you have had your vehicle painted by this shop to take a careful look at your vehicle. Chances are you may have the wrong color mica chip and plenty of dirt nibs on your fresh paint. And you may find that your vehicle wasn't properly disassembled (maybe it wasn't at all like mines) or reassembled. My advice is STAY AWAY!! And don't fall for the industry standard mumbo jumbo. If your vehicle paint is damaged and not brought back to the factory standard then go after these guys. read more

The facility has had my vehicle for 2 weeks and has yet to provide an appraisal for collision work. Each time I call to inquire about the status of the appraisal, they lie and say they will have it done "tomorrow". This has occurred 5 times now. I will be be towing my vehicle out of the facility because if they they can't be honest about when they appraisal will be complete, I cannot trust them with the work. read more

Harassed & destroyed my fence. I am their next door neighbor. A Latina single mother of 3. I have been getting harassed by this company for years. Every snow storm since I bought the house, this company has been plowing their snow onto my fence. I have had to rebrack the fence several times. I have asked them to stop and that they are causing my property damage. I was ignored. I asked them to cut down a dead tree. I was ignored and the tree broke my garage roof. Again, they lied aboute asking them to cut. Tree is still there. We came home on 2/27 on to find half the fence on the floor and the rest barely hanging on. Paintworx had finally broken the fence down beyond belief. Why? Why have they year after year, plowed their snow into a Latina woman's fence? Why continue after she asked you to stop? The estimate was significantly less expensive than the other shops in Albany that I visited. The work was done on time, and looks fantastic. Paintworx Collision Center is not even worth sharing stars 1-5 they truly deserve a 0. My car was involved in a hit and run on May 4th, 2021. My car was towed from my house on May 4th, 2021 to a garage where the costs for fixing would be way to expensive. My car was then towed from the garage it was at on Central to Paintworx Collision Center, my car got there May 6th, 2021. My vehicle was towed threw Triple A, and they recommended sending my vehicle to Paintworx. I called two days after my car was there so I can see what was going on with my vehicle, and the repairs. I spoke with Jim, who at first seemed as though he was on top of his game of knowing what was going on with my car. He stated that my car had control arm damage, and that the parts would be ordered soon. He stated that the way they inform people about their cars being fixed was through text messaging. So after three weeks of the run around about my vehicle being fixed, I was the one calling them to see about what was happening with my car, I informed Jim multiple times that I did not received any text messages since the day I had to go up there and sign the authorization form which was three weeks prior. Jim would inform me my car would be done every week on a different day which was false information. Jim stated that my car had additional damages that were minor and that would not affect the date of my car being completely done which was supposed be by May 20th, 2021. Not to mention this also caused me to miss my graduation with receiving my bachelors for the class of 2021, my graduation was May 22nd, 2021 and it was missed due to the lies Jim stated to be about my car being done on the 20th and that was false. My car insurance is through progressive I had a deductible of $2,000. Jim nor the owner Dave never sent in the supplemental damage form nor did they contact the insurance company so that they could have came up there to take pictures of the additional damages. The insurance company told me that the job that needed my car to be fixed should've only taken 2 weeks. When I called constantly concerned about the progress about my vehicle Jim would say he would call back, and never did and he also made it seem as though I was being a bother. Dave got on the phone with me one day when I called he was very rude, and nasty. He argues with people on his business ******** page, he goes on each and every platform he has for the internet and will delete the negative reviews that people have given him, and he only leaves up the good reviews. Fast forwarding to June 2nd, 2021, I was told by Jim that my car would be done on June 3rd, 2021 which was a Friday I decided not to call in I went up there to get my vehicle, because at this time my car was being held up there for 1 month and 3 days with no progress. I got there to get my car, Jim walks in the back to see about my car, and he came back out and tried to stall me out for another week for me to get my car stating if I wanted to do the alignment myself down at ***** I could, I chose just that because I couldn't wait any longer. My livelihood is with my car, and to have been given the run around for so long, and to be poorly treated about an incident that was so important to be informed of I was SUPER APALLED. Dave was at the front desk being very nasty, and snobby towards me and my boyfriend saying that I should've had rental insurance and I could've had it easier on myself, when they false advertised to me and never informed me about the rental or loaner cars. When I called and asked about the rental cars, and loaner cars they had Jim told me they did not have any and if they come into some he would inform me, and never did. When I was getting my car from Paintworx on June 3rd, 2021 there was a young lady that came in that was a friend of a female manager in the office, Dave clearly stated out of his mouth "she has no rental coverage but give her the bmw we have on the lot" he stated that to Jim, and again I was so apalled at his behavior, and how poorly we were being treated. my boyfriend, and myself are of African American decent and I feel that we were being poorly treated due to the color of our skin. Further research and other people I know of the same decent as myself have expressed me the same issues. When I left off the lot on June 3rd, 2021 I turned my car on and was infuriated to hear how my car sounded. It did not sound how it would normally have sounded. I have a 2018 ****** ****** that still was driving brand new, it was quiet when I turned on my vehicle after leaving paintworx collision center it made a loud rumbling noise, and still does at this time. My car vibrates, and makes a loud noise when I accelerate. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE that I know. He gives a fast and fair estimate - he is very friendly and polite and keeps in touch with you from start to finish. He is a veteran and his work ethic is second to none. The office/waiting room/bathroom is immaculately clean. This seems like a small thing, but in the restroom was a schedule of whose turn it was to clean the office/restroom and the manager was on it, too. I like that kind of leadership! Might be great for body work, but I had an unimpressive experience with their detailing. Bought a Living Social certificate - $75 for $150 service...but turned out to really be $105 b/c - surprise - an extra $30 for an SUV. Okay, still a good deal. When I dropped the car off, the guy couldn't have been nicer. And nice, professional, waiting area. However, when I picked the car up, I got a sales pitch to fix the scratches on my car. I stopped her immediately,as my car is several years old, so I'm not spending thousands to fix scratches. But it seemed like she "had to" do the pitch, so I let her - she's just doing her job, I realize. When I got in the car, the interior was generally very clean BUT the windows and interior mirror had not been touched. It was very obvious, as they were dirty. I'd been thinking of cleaning them the week before myself, but figured since I was getting it detailed, why do it, as I knew they'd do a much better job. Wrong! The exterior windows and mirrors were all spotted, but at least something happened - they were run through a wash, or hosed off or something. For $105, I thought it was a mediocre job. If I had paid $185, the supposed value, I would have given it 1 star. Cleaning the interior windows and mirror seem pretty basic to me. I was further annoyed to find a Paintworx keychain added to mine and a Paintworx window sticker added as well. Needless to say, both were quickly removed. read more

I needed to have refrigerator doors painted for a finicky client at the end of her rope with things going wrong on her ultramodern kitchen project. Alice on the phone acted like my request was perfectly normal, and I brought the doors in for a consultation. Dave and Tony assured me I was in good hands, and I believed them. A bit later, Tony called to tell me there was difficulty matching the paint to the sample, which turned out to be the whitest white they had ever seen. I was expecting a call back with developments, and was a bit nervous when the next call I got was to tell me the doors were done. I went in with deminished expectations, and was blown away to see that the doors are absolutely perfect. The finish is like glass, and the color match is so dead-on I couldn't believe it. Turns out they went the extra mile and got a paint rep in to find the perfect paint. I love that they surprised me in this way. The were all visibly proud of the results, as they should be. After I reinstalled the doors on the refrigerator, my client fell in love with her kitchen project all over again. Win, win, win! I love these people, and I can't wait to use them again. read more

My insurance company paid for new parts from the dealer and they installed lesser quality aftermarket parts and never informed me, on top of repairing parts that they got paid to replace. Please if you have your vehicle repaired by Paintworx Collision Center don't hesitate to ask them for invoices for the parts and copies of all estimates. This place is giving body shops / Collision Centers a bad reputation. I will not even bring my car back there to have them "REDO" what should have been fixed properly the first time. Small time shop do ing small time work! Over spray, give car back incomplete, can't match paint and when called out on it they say its hard to match factory. Didn't remove emblems so you can see clear spray fish eyes and broke parts when reassembling. Free detail...that's another joke...inferior products with no "know how", will scratch your clear coat like you on't believe. Stay away from this shop, I should have listened to others, but they did a great job giving me that warm and fuzzy at first... three times they had my car... three times I was unhappy and screwed over. read more

Paul S. I was recently involved in a fender bender, a guy misjudged and backed into the side of my non moving Honda Accord, oops, denting in and scraping the side of my car. I took it over to Paintworx for an estimate the next day. Nick was great. He took a good look at my car and quickly explained what was needed to be done and provided me with an estimate. Their claims are true. After deciding to go with them, Nick contacted the man's insurance company for me and helped me through the process, even taking and providing pictures of the damage, to them. Once the company agreed to pay the claim, Nick quickly got in touch with me and in a timely manner scheduled the work to fix my car and also contacted the car rental company to make sure I would have a vehicle while my car was being fixed. It took 4 days to complete the repairs. I was very pleased when I showed up and my car looked like it never was hit. You can tell quality work when you see it. They really did a terrific job ! I was also surprised at how well they detailed the car, and at no cost to me, just as their ad says. I value my time, and rarely waste my time writing a review, positive or negative, unless I have a strong opinion.
