I…read morejust moved in with my boyfriend and he suggested that I do my taxes here with him because he has been getting his taxes done for 10 years here and never had an issue. He said they were good over here...... Just driving up to the place I got a bad feeling about it. I told him I didn't feel comfortable doing my taxes here and he told me I was over reacting and had nothing to worry about.......... He said we were going to sit down with someone and talk about my taxes, but we didn't. There was just this old lady at the front who asked me maybe 10 questions and just marked down a couple of things on a paper... I thought that was weird.... She didn't ask me about my assets or write offs or anything..... I also work a tip based job and she didn't ask me anything about tips or extra income..... I thought that was weird as well, maybe a red flag, but my boyfriend said that she doesn't need to ask at all.... Anyways, my boyfriend paid the $130 to file my taxes, and about a week after I got a call my taxes were ready.... Oh and they couldn't do direct deposit with me so I had to wait for checks.... Well I got my state check which was fairly small, after maybe a week and here I am about 8 weeks later without my federal check. It never came. I called the Diane lopes office and they said its out of their hands and to try to the IRS refund line... So I did, multiple times.... For about 5 days straight... Where it didn't connect me to a person and kept hanging up on me. I have no idea where my Check is but I know I'm screwed somehow. I'm pissed. I should of trusted my bad feeling in the beginning and used turbo tax instead.

You can hear EVERYTHING happening in your neighbor's apartments. I was subject to hearing a woman cry and beg her male companion to leave her alone weekly. I contacted property management, concerned, and was threatened that I, too, have noise complaints about my loft because of my service dog, (who is trained not to bark). When I asked for the time/date of these complaints, I received no response. I was made to feel as if any complaints on my behalf would result in action against me for my service dog. Any further communication with property management was met with return complaints about my dog peeing on the grass, where we walked her in the neighborhood, etc. At one point I was repeatedly approached by security every time I took my dog out to use the restroom, her asking me for "papers" to prove she is a service dog, asking me what services she provides, and for what disability, and if I have "any proof" on me that she's allowed to be in the apartment complex, (and yes, we had gone through all the appropriate channels). I was also required to register my dog's saliva for feces testing, which is not legal. The absolute attitude from management was despicable. At one point, after speaking with other residents with service animals, I requested a trash can be located near an entrance to the building to dispose of dog waste - and was told that having an employee "walk to empty the trashcan would be an undue burden." The heating and cooling costs a fortune because there is no insulation between floors. This matter is so bad, that if my upstairs neighbor spilled anything, even a bottle of juice, it would immediately leak through the ceiling, oftentimes onto our bed. It is so costly and hard to keep these apartments heated, that one time we turned on the hot water in the bathroom and the sink itself shattered. It took much back and forth with management to get them to fix it, over 4 months, and then they tried to charge us for it because "there's no way you didn't drop something heavy in it." The bugs are ridiculous - I would have swarms of ants and ticks coming up through the floorboards from the parking garage below every spring and was told "every apartment building has some ants." I genuinely feel bad for people renting in New Bedford, as this is one of the main companies that own the apartments here.

The quality of your experience will completely depend on who lives above or below you. I have been very lucky, until now. A few new tenants moved in around me and all smoke. My apartment smells like an ashtray, every day. Though management has repeatedly tried to find out who is violating the leasing agreement of a no tolerance smoking policy, they have failed. If you smoke, this is the building for you! Sadly, I do not.

Today, my man, Ryan's, money was FRAUDULENTLY STOLEN from his account - HIS WHOLE PAYCHECK! He was never notified, by phone, or ANYTHING, of unusual activity (although they LIED and said they did!) Now, instead of the SUPERVISOR from the fraud dept. giving him back HIS MONEY (like they CAN'T AFFORD IT ?!) pending an investigation, they told him it'll take about 10 days! TEN DAYS!!! We have to WAIT for them to finish their investigation. Now, we have to inconveniently pull funds from elsewhere (which isn't much) for Memorial Day weekend. This bank DOESN'T CARE about its customers! When this happened to me, my bank (St. Anne's Credit Union) IMMEDIATELY reversed the fraudulent charges, froze my card, and issued a new one. Their investigation found FRAUD, obviously! If First Citizen's Bank calls Ryan back TODAY (5/23/25 - they know who he is) once they see this review, I PROMISE I'll will update it.
