Love this super market. We found what we need with reasonable prices and the food court is always the best place for our family to look for different food. The front bakery is always my kiddos favorite since they were in Korea. If you happen to go to the middle of the super market and see the booth selling taitaki (fish shape of snacks), please do stop by. His taiyaki is the best so far I have in Washington state. The grocery store might be old, but the attached Korean boulangerie bakery makes up for it. Inside the grocery store is a lovely man making fresh to order taiyakis. I bought the beef and pork meatballs which is part of his area and they were tasty. My friend loved her cheese filled taiyaki. I tried the attached Korean food court and was disappointed by the bulgogi and rice. Big portion of rice and tough bulgogi. The Japanese restaurant looked like it would have been the better choice since there was a steady flow of to go orders. Oh well, next time. read more

Pal-Do world Is a Korean market I have been frequenting for years. There are several Asian markets in this area, but this particular one has some cool stuff to offer. They have a good selection of food and fresh fruits and vegetables in their store. The people are always friendly! They have a lovely bakery when you first walk in run by the sweetest women, and they have a food court area with a few yummy grab and goes or stay and eats. ATTENTION: DO NOT EAT BEEF FROM THIS STORE! They are either injecting plastic into their beef or its not beef at all. I cook chuck roasts 3 times a week and have for the last 3 years and when I saw the prices here I jumped on it and bought a few of them. Immediately before cooking I noticed irregularities such as a giant cut down the middle of the roast. Roasts are one solid piece of meat, there shouldnt be cuts from the center of it down. I let that go and cooked it anyway and when I pulled it out I noticed the meat shook like Jello does when you move it around (huge red flag). When I cut it it felt like I was cutting through cartilage not beef and when I tried a bite it wouldnt break down once bitten, it was like hard chewing gum. Oddly some of the best coming from one called Peking Garden Restaurant, a Chinese & Korean restaurant, but with a Chinese restaurant name, don't let that sway you into cruising right on by and the K-food is very good. Plus only 2 of the 5 restaurants were open on a Monday afternoon. Sides Restaurant had styro wrapped trays ready To Go $6.99 Gimbaps, Kim chi, fried fish cake & prepped veggie sets for bibimbap. FOOD 3.75/5 The counter server, gal wearing a mask was so nice, patient, answering questions and kindly offering to sub the seafood in the jambong spicy red soup for meat if wanted on the half/half jjaajngmyeon black bean sauce. Also whether we just preferred to have our Kung Pao extra spicy as hubby asked for some chili oil when ordering. She also checked in how we liked the food, if we needed more water, and when I told her the hubby loved my seafood stew she inquired how I liked it though ;) Noodles were a tad too soft and overcooked and could use more proteins, minimal pork and seafood in the soups, just 1 shrimp & 7-8 thin, -inch tentacles of squid and few small pcs of diced pork in a black bean sauce that I'd prefer less sweet. Comes with a side of kim chi which was the best, salty and right amount of heat and crunch, & not so sour. Also, a side of yellow pickled daikon, and new to me raw, mild onion with a dip of vinegar and a dark molasses-type of slight salty/sweet paste. Kung Pao had large thin slices of chicken and more of a saucy heat, vs a chili oiled drier stir fry with baby corn, onion, peas, carrot, and peanuts. Hubby needed some soy sauce and he was mostly pleased and said he'd go for the jambong next time. SERVICE 5* Leaving we asked for boxes to go and mentioned their fantastic Kim chi. Seconds later she arrived at the table with another to-go portion?! Such a delightful person, excellent service and yummy experience, AND in a Food Court :) !! The service is 5* very personal like a restaurant, only ordering at the counter. PAl DO MARKET 3.5/5 An Asian Bakery sits at the front and don't miss your other sweet treat option over by the fresh fish counter lol, Mom's Deli serving a fish waffle filled with sweet red beans right in the middle of the store! So I've been on the hunt for 2 things since moving to the area. 1. A new rice cooker and 2. Wor wonton soup. I came to this market and found my rice cooker but the Chinese restaurant that serves wor wonton soup in their food court was closed on Saturday so no luck. Local Asian markets are such a treasure and this one didn't disappoint. There was ample parking around the entire building. As soon as you enter there is a boulangerie (bakery) to the left. They have a variety of sweets: custom cakes, fresh loaf bread, chocolate sponge cakes and more. There is fresh produce and seafood and they have a kiosk near the crab tank in the middle of the store where you can order pancakes made in the shape of a fish and choose from several filling options such as Nutella, strawberry, blueberry and Oreo cookie to name a few. I ordered a Nutella filled pancake. The dough was similar to that of a donut but spongier. Toward the back of the store you'll find kitchenware, frozen foods and then to the left of the checkout area is the food court. There are about 4 different restaurants in there that serve Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Directly past the cashiers is a small trinket shop where you can purchase anything from keychains and purses to clothing and stuffed Pokeman. Good grocery store. There is an isle with Chinese, Filipino, Japanese and Korean snacks. They also have a food court, a bakery, and a bungeo-ppang (taiyaki) deli. Taiyaki are 2 for $7 or 3 for $7 depending on the flavors. The taiyaki stand is kinda in the middle of the grocery store and the bakery is by the entrance. Wow! There is so much to love about Pal-Do World! It's a whole plethora of different things here. Primarily it's a grocery store containing mostly Korean goods but with enough looking you can find quite a bit more here. I especially love the deli area. Sometimes they have Korean Pancakes for sale and I love the Leek and Onion ones. There is also a kimchi version but I haven't tried that one yet. Besides the grocery store there are other adjacent shops from the grocery store. These mostly look to be ladies clothing boutiques. Then there is also a food court with about five or six different walk up restaurants. I haven't tried any of these yet but the sushi place looks very promising! And finally but certainly not least is a bakery that has more of a French style to it. All kinds of different cakes you can order as well as pastries more of the snacking kind. You are bound to find something you want coming into this place as it has mini mall written all over it but it's not your typical mall fare either as you can find grocery items and menu items you can't find easily at the regular grocery store and the prices are very reasonable! read more

I brought my elderly parents here for some grocery shopping. Normally, I don't pay much attention to the receipt, but this time, I decided to check it quickly and noticed that we had been overcharged. The cashier scanned an item twice--right at the beginning when we were busy loading everything onto the conveyor belt. When I brought it up, both the cashier and the Korean manager claimed that the scanner was very sensitive and had caused similar issues before. Great selection of produce of good quality Great selection of snacks Great selection of frozen foods and quick foods (soups, noodles, etc.) *Delicious!* fresh fish shaped breads (loved the plain and cheese!) Great little bakery in the front with good quality pastries, breads and cookies. Pretty good food offerings in the food court. Absolutely as good or better than fast food, just not as great as a full on restaurant. I found some old favorites, some new treasures and was super happy with my visit. Haven't had a chance to try anything at their food court, but love the variety of their groceries. They name aisles with sauces specific to the cuisine you want to cook, such as Korean aisle, Filipino and Thai aisles for sauces. They have a couple stores where you can shop for clothes as well. I'm Filipino and the closest Filipino supermarket that I know of is Seafood City all the way in Tukwila, so finding a decent Asian grocery nearby has been kind of a lost cause since we moved out here. Sure there are some Asian markets on Martin Way, but they tend to be too small to have what we want and also a bit worn and dingy. We don't mind the drive to Pal-Do because even though they are a Korean store, their cuts of meat for K-bbq will work with out recipes and they have plenty of produce and sauces to give us that flavor we're looking for. If you're looking for fun foreign treats, check out the chips and cookies at this place. My favorite thing to look for when I'm traveling internationally is to find the flavors of Lays from different parts of the world (btw, I'm a big fan of ketchup flavored Lays from Canada). Here you get some crazy flavors of Lays. They have my other favorite snack, shrimp chips! They also have a nice section of korean kitchen tools which is definitely worth checking out. read more

This place has a great selection of my personal favorites from home! To avoid sounding like a complete fatty, I will not name them here. But their selection is huge, and they usually carry quite a few brands for one item, which is nice. This market also has a bakery, a video tape store, a clothing shop, a ginseng retail "shop", a beauty shop and a food court. And almost everyday I've been by, someone is setting up to sell fresh kimchi on the side. They also have a booth to purchase phone cards to call home. Not sure who still uses them with kakao & skype available. But hey, to each their own! The bakery is a little over priced on their goods but their cakes are to die for if you love that light, whipped frosting they use. It's pretty spot on with the cakes you find in Korea. Hands down, worth the price. But who charges $2 for a hard macaroon with no filling. That's dumb. I love the food court. It's fast, tasteful and the service is always pleasant and friendly. I often come here during my (30 min) lunch break to eat with my father. He orders ahead of time so we won't have to use up all my time. We're usually in and out in 20 minutes.... or that could just be the way my family eats. :) They have Korean, Chinese and Japanese cuisines. Yum! Anyways, definitely give it a try if you haven't already. Not necessarily the cleanest place in the area, but far from the worst. read more
