I've been a loyal customer for many years, even before the renovation, and the food has always been excellent. Unfortunately, today will probably be my last time ordering pickup or delivery. The issue isn't with the food it's with the consistency of pickup and delivery orders. Every time I order empanadas, I have to specifically ask for the ají, even though it's traditionally served with Colombian empanadas. There have been several occasions where I requested it and it was still forgotten. Because it's happened so often, I've gotten into the habit of reminding the staff two or even three times. When I order delivery, I even call after placing my order to confirm everything and ask for the ají or extra limes. I'm usually told they've been added to the bag, but many times they still aren't there. I want to be clear that this has only been an issue with pickup and delivery. When I dine in at the restaurant, I've always had a great experience. The staff is friendly, the service is excellent, and the food never disappoints. It's disappointing because this has been one of my family's favorite places for years, and we've always enjoyed eating at the restaurant. Was feeling under the weather today while I was at work so I decided to try Uber eats and order from pal restaurant. I ended up ordering the beef ribs soup and the chicken noodle soup. Both were great. However the beef rib soup was absolutely amazing my friends had been telling me to try it for a while and I could never seem to get my hands on it because they always run out but luckily for me they had it in today. My order took less than 30 minutes to make and get delivered by the Uber driver, which was fantastic. The ambiance in the restaurant is always relaxing, warm and friendly. For starters, if you don't speak Spanish, expect to get your order wrong. The service here is horrible. There is usually only one person available to help, and it doesn't improve even if you're the only table seated. For reference, I went there today and was the only table seated. Still, they forgot our silverware, mixed up two orders, forgot food that we asked for, and walked by our table multiple times before realizing that the check was waiting to be picked up. The empanadas were disgusting. Sadly, there's no sugar-coating that. They were hard and crispy on the outside, and stale on the inside. We asked if they had any fresh ones, so they took the first batch back and brought us out new ones. Same deal. Apparently, they're just that way now. The steak was okay. However, the chimichurri was not good. That's just the new chimichurri they chose. The bandeja paisa is still pretty good. The beans that come with it... Meh. But the rest is pretty good. Overall, a meal for four could run you $50+ easily. And while the food isn't terrible, it certainly isn't worth that. I'll be looking for another Colombian place now. read more

I went there for lunch this past week and i used to have good experiences. The food used to be great and service good too. However i've been the last three times and it has been HORRIBLE! The food came out like cardboard... and it was chicken. The sauce on the chicken was watered down and had no flavor. The empanadas are pretty good here. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Pan de bono is good too but it's even better when it's fresh out of the oven in the morning. Defiantly get pan de bono during that time! So moist and fresh! Blood sausage is pretty decent. Arepa rellena de chicharron tastes pretty good. They make chicharron really good and really crispy. It's right on. Really like the garlic sauce and orange/pink sauce (mayo & ketchup). Huevos revueltos con jamon seems like your homemade breakfast meal. Nothing too special but good enough to eat. Entrana is cooked pretty well and it's not thought. Bandeja pal'rancho is pretty good. There are some days that rice is cooked right and some days are cooked hard. The sausage has really good bold flavor. Really like the beans on the side. Avocado both times did not go bad. Beef tastes good and not tough. Bistec a caballo is decent. Too much tomato sauce for me but my friend thought it's a good amount. Potatoes were cooked soft and you can get sunny side up eggs. Grilled chicken sauteed with mushroom sauce tastes pretty good.
