I stopped by Pal' Rancho for breakfast while I waited for my car to be detailed at the Mobil next door. As you walk in, there is a dining room in front of you and a cold/hot case to your right, filled with pastries, breads, and South American pre-packaged treats. At the back of the restaurant there is a bar with beer and wine and a To-Go counter. I sat for table service and ordered a Cafe con Leche without sugar, one pan de bono, and one #6- scrambled eggs with ham (add tomato) and an arepa. The Cafe con Leche tasted good but it was more akin to a Cappuccino as there was too much foam. The pan de bono was warm and chock full of yummy cheese. Lastly, the scrambled eggs were perfectly seasoned with fresh veggies. I'd never had an open-faced arepa before, so I had to as Google how to eat it :D It said you are meant to use the arepa to scoop the rest of the food, which I did and it was heavenly. The arepa was crunchy, buttery, and cheesy which paired very well with the eggs and veggies. I would definitely return as that was a completely craveable meal! read more

I stopped in on a Sunday and staff Gabriel was so excellent! He was welcoming, took my order immediately, and started preparing my to-go order. The area is spacious with lots of sitting area, I wish there was a designated to-go area so I didn't feel in the way but it was relaxed atmosphere! I visited Pal Rancho in Coral Springs while in the area and needed something quick to eat. You can't go wrong with some Colombian empanadas, so I stopped in to give them a try. I ordered a few empanadas, a pan de bono, and a buñuelo. The empanadas were decent, and they give you a hot sauce in plastic baggies on the side. The buñuelo was also okay, but the pan de bono was one of the best I've had -- flavorful, soft, and almost pillow-like in texture. They have a menu with full meals, Colombian snacks, and desserts too. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely stop by. Pal gives excellent service. The Columbian food is authentic, which had me a little bit worried that they were going to take forever to prepare the order. You should know that they did not! Everything was fresh, made to order and speedily prepared. Full of flavor. I will have to say there are extremely few of any vegan options but they're definitely vegetarian friendly. Upon entry on your right side and going towards the cashier you'll find lots of items which can be purchased over-the-counter without being seated. They have Colombian candy bars, Colombian, chips, lots of pastries, cakes, and breads as well. I snagged a few because I figured the kids would love to try them. The fresh juices are delicious. I had passion fruit juice with rice and beans. Again, delicious. The environment is very casual, they even had the sports station on so that guests could catch some fútbol. I never knew this place was so close to home! I have been to their other location further west in Coral Springs. Pal Rancho is a Colombian restaurant through and through. I actually dared to ask if they served Mofongo, and our waitress asked "Y Que es eso?" Too funny, the answer is NO by the way. It is located on Atlantic Boulevard right next to The Original House if Pancakes. I have bben to a gew Colombian restaurant and even though i pretty much know most dishes, I like that the meny has pictures. They actually have quite an extensive breakfast section. I didn't even know Colombians had so many breakfast dishes. Ill have to try one or two. Our waitress brought our menus and immediate came back to take our order. Felt a little pressured there, I don't like to have someone hovering over me. No one is are not rushing me per se, but I feel that I must order asap otherwise I'm wasting their time. Hard habit to break. We ordered empanadas as appetizers cheese, chicken and beef. Cheese was my favorite. As my entree, I got the Pollo a la criolla (Chicken in tomato, onions and pepper sauce), and that came with rice and a bit of salad. It was very good. I will come back on a Sunday to get their Ajiaco. Service was good, our waitress and someone else who I assume is the manager, came by a few times to ask how everythig was and if we needed anything. I had cafe con leche (2 cups it was so good), 2 eggs over medium that were cooked perfectly, and the number 15, which was an arepa with cheese, chicharron, with beans and rice. Everything was delicious. My friend had liver and onions what's an arepa. deliver was cooked a little too much it was kind of dry. Very disappointing experience. About 2 weeks ago I went to pickup some dinner for myself after a long day at work. I ordered the skirt steak, rice and beans. Simple, right? Ummm no. First of all they f^%*^g charged me over $25 for that! I've had Columbian food before and this wasn't even as good or as reasonably-priced as those other columbian places. I got in my car and drove off when I got to my destination we go to eat them and they both were burnt and very oily. I've had plenty of empanadas and never have I had them burnt or oily like this. We got lucky the night we ate here being the gas lines got shut down in the area due to a leak immediately after we got served our food, but seriously Holy $h**! Why haven't I gone here before? (This is a common occurrence for me) The place is great! The young staff is super friendly (even to my white non spanish speaking @$$). I wish I took pictures. So the menu (full of pictures) is similar to a la granga, or la brasa. That's where the similarities end.... The place is clean! The food looks and tastes more clean too. The chicken for one is definitely a higher quality, I am a chicken snob that buys only bell and evans at home and theirs chicken was up there with it. I ordered simple for my first visit, breaded chicken cutlet, grilled onions, rice and plantains. My son played copy cat minus the onions. Try their grilled onions, fulllllll of flavor and yummy. I love coming here. My first experience was with coffee and pan de Bono and now I always have an arepa. The servers are so nice, my waitress was Daniela tonight and she was the sweetest. Their kids menu is good and the food is pretty decent. I have never had any of their main dishes but it seems to always be packed and people enjoying themselves.
