If you get the Mexican guy, he is SUPER cheap on the amount of cold cut meat he gives you on your hero, that you're mostly eating bread. One time, I even told him, "hey man, you can be a little more generous with the ham." He gave me ONE extra slice. Seriously? I'm paying for it - charge me for the extra meat then! The white guy, who is the owner, HE makes the better of the two sandwiches, always. You don't have to keep telling him what to put on your sandwich either; once is enough. The Mexican guy, he usually forgets a topping or two, and leaves something to be desired. If you can, ask for who is making your sandwich. They are my emergency deli, and sadly, if they can honestly make a sandwich the way I WANT it, then I would change the review.

I shopped here earlier today to buy some fresh corn. The supermarket is impressive. They have a…read morebakery inside where they making pizza, calmness, and focaccia. They also have a deli section with meat, cheese and ready to eat food. The employees are friendly and helpful. It was my first time there. The produce looked fresh and good. I bought some nectarines, corn on the corn, green grapes and beets. Some stores let you take the husk off the corn but they didn't let me at this place. One of the employees told me that someone fell on the husk that was on the floor and complained to the store so now they don't let you do it in the store. The corn looked good and fresh so I bought anyways. I became a club card member to get the discounts in this store. 6 corn for $2. The aisles were wide enough for me to maneuver my stroller through them. It was hard by the registers but customers were understanding when I had to switch planes to get out. I wouldn't mind visiting this place again.

If you ask someone in the butcher shop for special cut or are they just going to put out plain sausage the answer is, "sorry I am going home", or "what we cut/we put out is available to you". Now let's talk of the cashiers -some are rude, don't know how to count and don't bag. (or feign they don't bag though the store policy is too bag). I look for the old timers when I go and I am avoiding shopping on the weekends as the most inexperienced unsupervised are manning the registers. The young managers are the worse. They are too busy talking about their last adventure, online interests, gossiping, talking about customers or general gripping. They don't monitor the cashiers and act offended when you complain about the service. Some of the new cashiers look away and ignore customers to avoid work. Recently when I approached the counter of a cashier doing nothing with her back to customers, and asked if she was opened, the answer was curt, and annoyed as" why do I dare ask". A simple yes would have sufficed. Oh, I forget, god forbid you give them $20.25 if the bill l is $10.25. They look at the quarter like it just landed from the moon on the latest meteorite. Oh, and don't give them a quarter after they post the $20 to the register. Somehow, they can't add the $9.75 and .25 to give you $10 back.

The other food delicacies they offer seem to be a hit; there's often a lunch crowd ordering food. Prices are reasonable for this part of Brooklyn. The business feels honest, unlike the deli across the street. I enjoy shopping at President and I wish them all the best.

They have a pretty good selection of meat and chicken...no ground beef though which I'd like to be able to get. Produce sometimes looks kind of old, but other times it looks fine. Sandwiches have always been good - their hero bread is better than other spots in the area. Prices are on point with other stores. My only complaint is their hours..they close so early and it can be inconvenient.

We didn't walk around but from what I could see, the little store is well kept. There are a ton of homemade goods, homemade cotton candy with many flavors, popcorn that's made fresh every day, ice cream, protein shakes, smoothies and Italian ices. We ordered a waffle bowl (vanilla and cookies and cream scoops with rainbow sprinkles), a vanilla waffle cone, a cookies and cream waffle cone and a small mango madness smoothie. My husband is picky with vanilla flavored ice cream and says his waffle cone was pretty good. My kids also finished their ice cream (my younger one rarely finishes his, by the way). I really appreciated the pretty lady who took our order because she gave me a sample of the smoothie to see if I wanted to add anything. She also offered us some popcorn on the house and I thought it was so sweet! My son asked for one cherry in his waffle bowl and she kindly added another one for us. Service is top notch and we can't wait to come back and try more things from the deli next time. I'd come back for the service alone.
