THIS ESTABLISHMENT DISCRIMINATES AGAINST THE DISABLED!! My…read moretwo autistic nephews were discriminated against at this establishment this evening (Night Bingo). Both are severely low functioning and nonverbal (both have the mental capacity of a toddler). They were quietly sitting at the table with my sister, mom, and I when the night manager (Jessica) approached us and said that if they do not play, then we have to leave. My sister, Mom, and I had already started a game of Bingo, and explained that they don't have the mental capacity to play a game of bingo (computer or sheet). After explaining our circumstances the manager was insistent that my sister still buy them a Bingo sheet or we couldn't play. This felt like a violation of the Americans with disability act, since no accommodations were offers to us if we bought them a bingo sheet or computer. Unfortunately our night was cut short and we were forced to leave with a partial refund.

Very popular, and it seems like there's a lot of cool people that come here by day or by night, so apparently Bingo is a very big deal and that Rosenberg is in the habit of keeping the dream alive.

First off, let me begin with Lone Star is still a smoking bar. If this works for you then continue…read morereading. My friend introduced me to Lone Star during one of my Texas trips. I've only been here twice and had a great time. Everyone is super friendly with good food, good service and afforable prices. As you approach Lone Star there's patio seating in front of the restaurant. You'll enter through a large, blue arch doorway with stained glass and 2 large Texas stars on each door panel. Very Texan feeling. The interior decor resembles an old saloon with lots of wood, tall 4-top tables and soft lighting. Unfortunately, the tables are not very conducive for wheelchairs. The bar area is U-shaped with many seats and friendly bartenders. There is a second floor that can be reserved and 2 pool tables for your enjoyment. Moving on to the food. Lone Star has an affordable daily $5 lunch menu Mon. - Fri. 11am - 4:00pm with 6 selections on the lunch menu. All include a side & choice of tea or soda. The $5 selection includes grilled cheese, 1/2 chicken or tuna salad, a hot dog, chicken tender combo, a grilled chicken Santa Fe plate or 5 wings combo w/5 sauces. I selected the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and house salad. The chicken salad sandwich was served on lightly toasted healthnut bread with crisp lettuce & a sweet tomato. The chicken salad was good and ran on the sweeter side which I don't mind. (FYI, no egg, thank you). The generous portion of salad was excellent with fresh tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and onions with the lettuce chopped on the smaller side which I find much easier to eat. I also ordered a small order of homemade onion rings ($1.99). They were very tasty with the texture of onion strings. I would order all again. For entertainment they have live music on certain nights and a bar version of Bingo on Wednesday nights. I heard the Bingo is tons of fun. Check out their website for details. I'm sure I'll be back during one of my next visits to Rosenberg/Richmond. Hopefully for live music or Bingo night.

They don't have a full kitchen anymore but they do have plenty of snacks and drinks for purchase. The bingo games are extremely fun and they have great payouts. In addition, the horses and all plays are numerous so you have many ways to win cash. This by far is my favorite place to play.

The woman at the cage explained the games to us very quickly, so we were still a bit confused and then totally lost once the session started because the caller did not indicating which game was being played. The buy-in price was decent (we purchased six $20 electronic tablet packages to start, so $120). However, we soon found out the majority of the games they play are on extra paper or pulltabs - only a few games were actually on the tablets, which was odd. So regardless of which "package" you buy, you'll have to buy extras to participate in all the games. We spent around $100 additional on the extras over two sessions (so overall spent about $220). Our chief complaint was constantly being bombarded by floor vendors wanting to sell us extra paper and pulltabs. They were helpful when we asked which game was being played, or how to play certain extra games (e.g., the horse races, which are extremely fast-paced). But the constant hawking is the one detractor that turned us off enough that we will not be likely to visit again. The caller spent far too much time pushing the floor vendors, asking them how many tickets they had left, etc., in the middle of games. The vendors walking around hawking tickets were an ongoing, constant distraction and this was especially annoying when they were yelling "red horse number 7" or "green horse number 11" or "only two left!" in the middle of a game -- it made it difficult to hear the caller and which number HE was calling (and he does not go slowly), especially for those of us who were not entirely familiar. Now, I fully support selling these extras IN BETWEEN GAMES. But constantly walking around shouting out game names ("Silly Goose!" "Sushi Roll!") during a round was beyond annoying. Once the game is underway, the caller should be calling the balls, and THAT IS ALL. Several regular players often shouted that he was going too fast. Other notes - some reviews state the place had food - they did not (it was Sunday afternoon). Maybe they do during the week? The website states it's BYO so we brought our own drinks and snacks. Prizes: not exciting. Part of the proceeds go to "charity" and we didn't go in expecting to win a bunch of money; we were there for entertainment. The one and only bingo our group got during TWO sessions won us a "consolation prize" on a coverall - a couple more computer tablets to play on (no money). It was disappointing that more of the take wasn't actually paid out as prizes. We were unable to find information about percentage of proceeds given to charities. Takeaway: we are unlikely to visit again.
