The only local cinema that is still affordable for families, the entrance fee is currently (as of 5/2008) $5.00 for adults, and $3.50 for children. The concessions will also remind us of our youth, with most prices for concessions under $2.00 each. The Dolby Surround system is state of the art. Restrooms are always clean, and the seats are stadium style-seating, mostly rocking chairs with ample room, with a balcony, to boot! The historical feel has been kept up, while the viewing and sound is the newest technology. Drawbacks... only one showing on weeknights (7pm), 2 on weekends (7pm and 9pm, generally)... but in a town of 1800 +/-, this is understandable. Due to the number of showings, only one movie is shown per week. Love it, love it, love it!

I am glad to know that heaven will be a million times grander than that. Anyway, the reason for the review is that my husband and I were well treated by the staff-everyone was professional and very friendly. Most importantly, I left my prescription glasses which must have fallen from my purse when I reached for my cellphone to make sure it was turned off prior to the movie. I knew they had to be left at the theater when I could not find them. I thought they would be thrown away but decided to go back and ask if they had a lost and found. A very nice young man asked if my glasses were all black and I said yes. He said, "Just a moment," and went and got my glasses and brought them back to me. I am so grateful. As usual, the art is hit or miss (subjective, obviously) but as an artist myself, I always appreciate the promotion of local artists. It really feels like the focus here is to promote artists and encourage artistic community. Love that there is no entrance fee especially since I have two small children so you never know how quickly they'll get bored or cranky. We sometimes have to leave abruptly or move quickly. The 3D glasses were too big for me and hurt my ears. For the price of movie tickets these days... you'd think they could spruce up the theater.
