It was replaced with ground beef, which tasted much better. What also stood out was that the manager, Chris, walked around greeting every table except ours. We noticed he continued greeting other guests as people came and went, and as an African American family, it made us feel uncomfortable and overlooked. This is not the kind of experience we are used to at Hugo's. Previous managers have always been welcoming and treated everyone fairly, which is one reason we've continued supporting this restaurant over the years. The food was also mediocre compared to past visits and definitely did not taste the same. We have never sent food back before and really hated having to do so, but we didn't want to risk getting sick. We do plan to return because Hugo's has always been known for good food and great customer service. The restaurant itself is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. It has one spacious, clean unisex restroom, which we appreciated. It's easy to see the pride the owners take in their food and customer service. Based on our experiences, we've already decided we'll be regular customers.
