In this economy it's really hard to find healthy affordable options. I have no problem paying for healthy food, but what a nice surprise to actually find an affordable gem not too far from where my parents live (and where I am most of the time when I'm not traveling or living abroad as a nomad). I never have a need to get hummus from the grocery store or even make it myself when I'm in Pensacola anymore! The hummus at Chickpea house is so good and super affordable. The menu is super simple. Pita, falafel, fries, hummus, tahini, and a few veggies for salad and to make a sandwich (which is a pita with falafel in it). I would like to say this place is vegan, but since I didn't see it listed anywhere on the menu I'll just say that this place is good for vegetarians for sure. Not gonna lie I love Mediterranean meats and I would love to see kafta or any lamb on the menu. I understand that the simplicity is what makes this non-traditional Palestinian restaurant efficient and fast casual, however! To be honest, the fact that falafel is really the only protein available is probably the only reason why I'm not at this spot once a week while I'm in town. The chickpea nuggets were bland. They could really use some seasoning. I didn't like the tzatziki sauce either it was a bit too sour. The fries were WAY too salty, I could not eat them. The staff could definitely use some work in the hospitality and customer service department. The kiosks in the front seemed impersonal and the staff literally refer you to the kiosk for everything. The interior is nice and clean but weird. The front where you order is disconnected from the eating area. A side of hot sauce is a dollar. Totally not worth a dollar for hot sauce. We stopped here for lunch while on spring break in Perdido Key. This place is wonderful. Ordering is super easy on the screens. The food comes out fast and hot. The service is very good and friendly. The food is so affordable. We loved the falafel sandwiches with the hot sauce. The pita bread is nice and piping hot and tastes great with the hummus. Our kids gave the french fries 10 out of 10. There's a nice little bar to sit at and eat. The bathrooms are super clean. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a healthy vegetarian lunch or dinner option. read more

Love the fact they send the food out in paper, not foam packaging--dig that! I had the vegan option of the chickpea sandwich. It comes with fries inside as well as some delicious kind of pickle they import. It was tasty, would get it again. My brother had the standard (falafel) chickpea sandwich, he thought it was okay. The employees were extremely nice and gave a few recommendations for what to get if you've never been before. The prices were all surprisingly affordable which blew my mind because the food cannot be described as anything other than perfect. What an amazing new addition to Pensacola! With not being far from home, Palestinian Chickpea House is such a great opportunity to get good food in this area town! Seriously I always feel like I'm surrounded by fast food and it's really great to get a variety of different foods in this area! I ordered two sandwiches, and two nuggets (see menu in photos) it only took eight minutes for me to order and walk out the door! Such a pretty and cute ambience with artwork and fun quotes, and even a long barstool seating option! The food was spectacular! I'm biased because I love falafel! For one of the sandwiches, I got the hot sauce on the side and used the leftover to mix in with the tahini sauce for the nuggets , 10/10 would recommend. While I was peeking around, I also ordered one of the diet cola drinks! Super good, in my opinion, better than Diet Coke! And it's made right here in Pensacola so cool! I've eaten at this cute, clean, fast, and affordable place twice now and it has not disappointed! The first time I had the falafel nuggets, fries, hummus and pitas, with a diet soda. All was fresh, delicious, and filling! The second time was my favorite though, I had the falafel sandwich, which is made of the falafel nuggets, pita, and hummus, but includes pickle and other stuff/sauces, which i LOVE. It's great to have another fresh, affordable vegetarian option in town, and we loved the sodas locally made in Pensacola. The seating area is small but pleasant, stools actually quite comfortable and a nice place to visit while we ate. I'm telling everyone to go here! read more

Hummus lovers rejoice! I have been looking forward to dining here since I saw the sign appear. What a delight! I had falafel bites with tahini sauce and their classic sandwich minus pickle. Absolutely delicious. Staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is immaculate. Plenty of counter space to plug in and work if needed. Nice music too. I will be back. Was recommended this place after complaining I couldn't find a reliably good falafel sandwich--they're always too dry (no sauce), too skimpy on veggies, or have sort of pasty falafel. Somehow, this $4 sandwich was very solid by comparison! A good measure of tahini, a little hot sauce, some very pleasant slightly spicy pickles, and an ample amount of diced tomato and cucumber made for just the right dry-moist and soft-crunchy combo. The addition of fries sounded a wee gimmicky but was actually quite good. The fries on the side were also solid, though there were quite a few tiny pieces in there that were too small and crisp to really eat. This was one of the first "quick" meals out that I've had since getting pregnant that didn't make me feel sort of icky and unwell afterwards. Maybe because of the fiber-carb-fat balance, or because it just feels fresh and less full of oils and sugars and such. We both tried the sodas, which apparently are their own recipes. The lemon mint one was refreshing and I'd enjoy it more often if my belly didn't hate carbonation. The cola my partner tried was also good, less syrupy and with leas sting in the throat than a Coke, and with an almost sort of slightly peppery kick at the end? Hard to describe, but very interesting. The facilities were very clean, well-lit, cool, and there's a little bar around the corner to eat at if you want to dine in. Their restrooms are family-style gender-neutral ones; they were well-stocked and clean and I dig the automatic trash can. Service was pleasant and we got our food quickly. I'll definitely be stopping by often. read more

Ordered online (super convenient) and I messed my order up, the staff realized I messed up and made the correction for me. We tried a little of everything. Great quality ingredients and good taste! My only complaint is that I wish they had a little more choice. I would love some feta or something creamy in the sandwich.
