A few months ago, my family and I were out on one of our marathon grocery-shopping excursions, and I overheard my wife tell our oldest that she had an unusual craving for a candy she once had as a little girl. While trying to be thoughtful, which doesn't happen as often as it should, I set out to buy some of that candy for my wife. It couldn't take but a few minutes, right? Needless to say I looked all over the place, over a period of several days, and nobody sold it. But recently a friend told me about an unusual store that sells unique candy, soda and other hard-to-find items. I found this business on Yelp and I was on my way here. Upon entering this Rocket Fizz, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman, the store owner. I made a short tour around the store, not finding my desired candy, and then the owner kindly asked if he could be of assistance. After telling him the candy that I was looking for he said that he would have a shipment coming later that day, with this candy included. Upon entering this store the following day, I was greeted by different store employees, the owner's sons. It turns out that this is a family-owned business. I should have known, because the young men helping me were just as friendly and professional as their father, each with a sincere smile and a desire to be helpful, which seems rather rare nowadays. They quickly directed me to my desired item. I left the store extremely pleased with my find, along with the service provided. It's very unusual to find someone that is willing to go out of their way for their customers, especially for a small purchase like mine. I'll be back. In a tone you don't use on someone else's kids. I ignore his tone walk over and tell her to be carefulful she broke the candy and now I have to pay for it. No bid deal. He then Says oh so now you understand me. I almost lost it on this man. I said hey she is a child I get parent next time you come speak to me/ the parent never the child. I said I'd pay and we start browsing. No longer feel like ordering anything when my older daughter said yeah he accused me of stealing last time cause I had multiple candy's in hands I couldn't decide. It's definitely a great spot if you want to take a little trip down memory lane. I usually like to stop by to buy candy or order some garlic fries. There's so much to look at that you could easily spend over an hour browsing while waiting for your food. This interaction made me remember that some people actually do love their jobs. I know my husband should have been more on guard but this can happen to anyone and their cameras should be functioning and recording at all time when they are handling money.
