Such a bright and welcoming family restaurant tucked off a not so bright and welcoming street. Greeted warmly. Counter service w/menu boards. Tables and booths. Everything was served piping hot and fresh. Also, quite possibly top 10 bathroom contender. The restaurant was spotless from top to bottom!!

When I saw that this place had opened, I was of course reminded of a certain episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I knew I'd have to check it out at some point. Then I forgot all about it until I was suddenly reminded of it the other day when I was on my way somewhere else. I needed to get a burger (literally, needed), and it occurred to me that this place has a burger. Parking at this little strip is decidedly limited, and I could definitely see that being a pain at times. What were all those people doing at about 11:30 AM on a Saturday, applying for car title loans? Picking up some bath salts for that evening's festivities? Getting some glitter on their face at the nearby pastie bar, if that's still there? Inside was surprisingly tidy and inviting, as if they were expecting a visit from someone other than myself. There's a surprisingly large seating area, for a place that has a takeout vibe. Similar restaurants up and down Page and elsewhere in the general vicinity just have a counter where you can place an order and maybe one of those ledges where you can stand there and eat. It occurred to me that I might get something other than a burger, but their menu is kind of a pain for a blind person, and I also never learned to read well, so I get self-conscious when I'm standing there trying to sound out the words and I sense that the cashier realizes that I can't read. Fortunately, there were no cute girls in line. I would have had to just wing it. I was leaning towards getting the chicken wings, but I figured a chicken wing is a chicken wing, right, and I was already kinda thinking about getting a burger. The burger I got was called the Pali Burger, and it's supposedly different from a regular burger. I think it's made with a mixture of beef and lamb, and it's got some sort of special sauce on it. This ended up being kind of a bust. If there was any special sauce on this burger, the application was sufficiently light as to be nonexistent, and the meat blend seemed to only serve to make it less fatty than it would have been if it were all beef. Otherwise, it was good. It was a surprisingly generous serving--maybe half a pound of beef--and the bun and toppings were all fresh and high quality. The french fries were just frozen fries from a bag like you might get at the grocery store, but they were sprinkled with something or other that caused me to tear through them as if I were famished and then wish I had more of them. While I was eating, the lady who took my order brought me a cup of something called Pali Sauce (literally every third thing they sell there is called Pali, including the soda). Was this supposed to be on the burger? By the time she gave it to me, I was almost done with the burger. She'd only brought the burger out maybe a minute before, but I eat quickly, like I'm in jail and I'm not trying to share my fruit cocktail with Nasty Nate. I dipped what was left of my burger in it and also my fries. It was delicious--like a steak sauce maybe, but with more of a Middle Eastern flair. If I were to return, I wouldn't get the burger again, but I'd try to find something else with that on it.

I came in and this place is wonderfully clean and smelled really good! The lady at the front really did great customer service and helped me pick out different items to try! Will definitely be back ! I picked out a few items to try: Loaded Chicken Fries: I liked this! It comes with olives but I'm not a fan of olives so I asked them to put them on the side! Other than that it was bomb. The chicken was tender and loved that Pali sauce and cheese on the fries. Hot Lemon Pepper Wings: Now they don't automatically make this flavor. I had to ask for it and it turned out really well! Liked the hot yet lemon pepper twang. Nicely cooked, good size wing. Beef Cheesesteak: This was on my favorites. The meat was cooked perfectly with the cheese, banana peppers and such. Really enjoyed this. It usually comes with mushrooms but I sub for the banana peppers. Pali Burger: This was also very good! The meat was a mixer of lamb and beef and it was the right consistency! Great flavor as well. The fries that came with the burger were just that regular old fries. Fresh Lemon Mint: Very very refreshing! I could drink one of these every single day!

The food here is amazing! Lots of vegetarian options, if that's your thing. I had the fuul, which came with a lot of very soft, pillowy pita bread. Service was very welcoming and attentive. The inside is spacious and well lit as well.

Wow! What a great addition to the area! My guy and I stopped in to check out the food and new brick n mortar for this place, and were so happy we did! Always love supporting Palestine and even more excited to do so thru food :) The menu isn't as traditional as we expected so it took a moment to decide what we would try first but we settled on the Pali Burger and Kabob sandwich. Also added an order of Hummus w/chicken. When you come in you order at the front register, the woman who helped us was very friendly and did not rush us at all while we decided. The owner was also there and made sure we were well taken care of. The dining area is very clean and they have music playing and a fabulous wall mural to admire while you eat! They brought us some toasted bread that reminded us of croutons or bagel chips and these were great to hold us over while the food came out which wasn't long at all. The burger was perfectly cooked and the sauce was excellent! Fries were great, and hummus with chicken was a major hit with us both. The kabob came wrapped in a pita and had onions sauce n tomatoes inside and that was great too! Thinking our favorite was the burger, but we will definitely be back to taste more of the menu! Don't pass this place up!

I love this place. My must try dish is the Grilled half chicken. Great business folks and the food tastes amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. 7 stars if we had an option.

We've been ordering takeout labna and baba ganoush a few times since they opened last Friday. They were both really good. Service has been nice and welcoming. Can't wait to dine in and try more dishes at Pali Grill.

Great food with a variety of Palestinian dishes to choose from. My family and I have been here many times since they opened a few months ago; it's become a staple for us.

Went for a second time and this time I had the falafel sandwich. I like it better this way than the wrap. I also asked for tzatziki instead of the tahini and their really good salad dressing as a dip for the French fries. It is all yummy! By the way, the falafels are made to perfection. They are crispy outside and tender inside. I think I will get the falafel salad next time! My friend ordered the chicken sandwich and liked it very much. The owners are so nice! They want to make sure that everything is good and if not, they will make it right for you!

    To go bags. Very colorful!

I'd somehow managed to make it this long without eating at Jersey Mike's--this despite my widely…read moreknown love of sandwiches. It used to be there weren't any Jersey Mike's around here. You probably had to go to New Jersey. When they began to appear, it was at a time when I wasn't eating at restaurants as often. (I was not in jail.) An opportunity presented itself when a location opened in a strip mall near where I live, along with the other four horsemen of the gentrification apocalypse: Raising Cane's, Panera and Five Guys. Plus a Chase Bank branch, which you're gonna have to visit if you plan to eat at any of these places. I stopped by at noon-ish to have a look, for the sake of citizen food journalism. There was a healthy, but not overwhelming, crowd. A lot more people than at the Five Guys next door. I suspect that people have begun to resent Five Guys because of their prices, even though you end up spending nearly as much, if not more, at Jersey Mike's. It can't be due to the quality of the food. I ate there and it was amazing. The inside of this Jersey Mike's is not very big. You can eat there if you want to (I did), but you might not want to take a date there. You're gonna be in there nuts-to-butts, and not intentionally so. It's set up like a Subway, or any number of other fast casual restaurants that were clearly inspired by Subway. You order at one end of the line, explain to a sandwich artist how you'd like your sandwich and then pay at the other end of the line. Options are a lot more limited--intentionally so, I'm assuming. None of this BS where there's, mathematically speaking, a million different permutations of a ham sandwich. As if. You can get a sandwich on white, wheat or rosemary parmesan. Or some gluten-free option, which, why would you even be at a Jersey Mike's? Sandwiches are served Mike's Way--lettuce, tomato, onion and an oil-and-vinegar blend--by default, to save people who can't read, and people with stuttering problems, from holding up the line. Is that the case even if you order a cheesesteak? Possibly. This is Missouri, after all. There's only a small handful of things you can get in addition to the standard dress: pickles, banana peppers, jalapenos and some sort of pepper relish. I was curious to know what that pepper relish, or whatever it was, tastes like, but it wasn't that serious. Would the sandwich artist have objected if I'd asked him to give me just a little bit, in my hand, to taste, as if I were at a 31 Flavors? I wasn't about to find out. Peace to Ani DiFranco. Before I left the house, I asked an AI what the ideal order at a Jersey Mike's was. It said to order a Club Sub, Mike's Way. A Club Sub is something along the lines of a club sandwich, minus the extra bread in the middle, the Ruffles potato chips and the dill spear. It has, as I recall, turkey, ham, bacon and provolone. For whatever reason, seemingly all the sandwiches here come with provolone as the default cheese selection. What, no love for Swiss? The Club Sub mostly just tastes like turkey. Turkey in general doesn't really taste like anything, but deli meat turkey has a very distinctive flavor. The bacon is precooked and nothing that would pass muster somewhere where it's the primary focus of your breakfast. The wheat bread was nice and robust, with a bit of chew to it, perhaps to withstand the deluge of oil-and-vinegar blend. It soaks into the bread and softens it up a bit, not unlike an Italian beef or a French dip. If you're opting out of the oil-and-vinegar blend (which they disgustingly refer to as "the Juice"), again, I'm not sure why you're eating here. In addition to the sandwich, which itself ran me upwards of $20, I got chips, a soda and a cookie. It cost me almost exactly the same amount I recently paid for a cheeseburger (i.e. a double cheeseburger), fries and a shake at the Five Guys next door. The jalapeno kettle chips were mediocre. They might need to consider another brand--unless the titular Mike owes someone there money. The cookie was amazing. It doesn't look like much, and it's packaged like it might have rolled off an assembly line in an industrial area over in Maryland Heights, but it's incredibly rich. I probably won't live as long as a result of having eaten it. Given how much I spent, that might be for the best anyway.

This was so good; we came here the whole week we were in St. Louis for lunch! The office I was working in was on the same block as Pastaria Deli & Wine, so a less than five-minute walk from the office, so no driving or need to hail an Uber was awesome. Inside there are wine bottles all over the walls and it just has this cozy, Italian café/deli vibe. Depending on when you get there, the line to the cash register can snake out the door, but it moves pretty fast. There's a surprising number of tables inside and since the weather was nice, there were several tables out in front. Each day, we had the same cashier, Carly (I believe that's her name). Carly was incredibly bubbly, cute, fun! Once we placed our order, we received a metal tag with a number on it and found a table. I didn't order any sort of specialty drink; I took advantage of the free water located near the back of the restaurant. The time from when we placed our order to getting our lunch was pretty quick, even when the place was packed for lunch. So for the three days I was in St. Louis, I ordered these three sandwiches: 1. Il Capo Italiano: Lemon ricotta, mortadella, soppressata, mozzarella, giardiniera, salted potato chips (Miss Vickie's most likely), arugula, red wine vinegar, & extra virgin olive oil on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - A jam-packed sandwich! The lemon ricotta was amazing and the crunch from the salted potato chips was excellent. Beware that this sandwich is heavy on the oils, so be prepared to "wear" this sandwich the rest of the day unless you brought your toothbrush. haha This sandwich was plenty thick, the slices of mozzarella really helped to make this sandwich thick and filling. 2. Volpi Heritage Prosciutto: Volpi Heritage prosciutto, butter, lemon olive oil, & house-made giardiniera on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The lemon olive oil was a very pleasant flavor, not too strong. Of the three sandwiches I ordered, this was the smallest in terms of fillings but it was still plenty filling for lunch with a bag of Miss Vicky's Spicy Dill Pickle chips! 3. Chicken Bacon Ranch: Thin sliced chicken breast, bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, tomato, arugula, banana peppers, & jalapeno-ricotta ranch on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The sliced chicken breast was piled on thick and the bacon was a welcome addition. There was plenty arugula and banana peppers inside but the jalapeno-ricotta ranch elevated this! Creamy with a slight spicy kick to it. I didn't have one bad meal here and for the quality and quantity, I felt the prices were pretty reasonable, especially in the year 2026. Pastaria Deli & Wine is an awesome lunch spot! The friendly staff, cool, authentic Italian-vibes, fast service, and the quality food, it comes together here! I can't wait to come back through St. Louis for work and stop in here again for lunch, maybe I'll even treat myself to some of their gelato!

The hot chicken sandwich was not only incredibly thick and juicy, but the crust was crispy without being overwhelming or too much breading. I loved the spicy sauce that was used to make it hot chicken and somehow it didn't make the sandwich soggy at all. The pros: -The variety of sauces were delicious -The brisket was moist and had food flavor -The Mac and cheese had fantastic flavor -The plate was served with pickles and onions, which I haven't seen since I left the south -Great value! The cons: -the pulled pork was dry -The Mac and cheese was super saucy -not a big variety What I sampled was delicious, and I'll keep up with the Southerner to try more food (I have my eye on the chicken and waffles on a stick).

Walking through the office today I caught the smell of delicious smoked goodness and instantly wanted some for myself. I can't tell you how happy I was to find that the aroma that caused me to lose track of my engineering responsibilities was located directly outside the front door to the building. This was my 2nd time to get a mouth watering BBQ sandwich from The Southerner. The folks running the truck are always more than helpful and provide a meal that's a good value proposition. Quality, quantity and price seem to be well balanced. Albeit a tad bit on the expensive side. Look to spend about $12 for a sandwich and side. The turkey, brisket and sausage are all great. The brisket is pulled not sliced or chopped. It makes for a great tasting sandwich that doesn't need much sauce at all. Although the sauce is pretty darn good they get 5 stars for not needing it.

This is easily a five-star review, and it's coming from someone who isn't a true BBQ lover. This…read moreplace was suggested by a local, and I am so glad that I went because it was the best BBQ that I have ever had. I wasn't sure what to order, but the friendly staff recommended that I have the brisket, and I'm so glad I heeded their advice. The brisket sandwich was the most tender meat that I have ever had. I had never had brisket before having that sandwich, now my mouth waters any time I talk about this restaurant! The cole slaw that I had as a side provided the perfect crunch and balance. My mate had the pulled pork sandwich, which was also very tender. I also loved having a variety of barbecue sauces on the table and was able to try each one. Everyone has a preference, I'm sure, but after trying each one, I am completely sold on the Carolina gold. Also, I do not typically have a fountain soda, but the cola that was on tap was some of the best that I'd ever tasted. 10 out of 10 for Sugarfire, and I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in St. Louis!

The giant pig statue in front of the restaurant was actually quite informative, as it described where the meat comes from on a pig. Anyway, as I entered the restaurant, I stood in line. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon. There are long tables with many seats, so seating wasn't an issue. It is a first come first served dining situation. I ordered the 2-meat plate: brisket, ribs, baked beans, and potato salad. The brisket and the sides were definitely my favorite parts. The brisket was so tender, it basically fell apart in my hands! It was delicious! The baked beans were tangy and sweet, and the potato salad was creamy. I didn't like the ribs, they were very dry and definitely not worth the money. The barbecue sauces are in bottles on the table; my personal favorite was the Honey Badger, sweet with a little bit of heat. I found the Coffee BBQ sauce to be the most interesting; I have never had anything like it before. The coffee notes were subtle and helped balance out the smoky flavors. While I enjoyed the majority of my food, I am not sure if I will be returning. It was a nice experience, but the dry ribs left me feeling disappointed.
