I thought I was gonna be one of the first people to review this place since they just had their soft opening a couple days ago. But I guess if you move, you can just update the address and keep past reviews. Well. They definitely deserve the stars they have. Their wines are good and so is the service! They are now located in Hillcrest, where Cellar Hand used to be. And if you have been there before, you know about their cool bar setup. Came for their soft open in their new Hillcrest location. The layout and space is almost exactly like their predecessor, cellar hand. We sat outside since we brought our dog with us. Their patio is fairly large and has tables for up to 6. They have a small wine list for now and mostly snacky foods, which is to be expected. They did have a couple wine flights though. They did say on the menu that they have zero proof drinks coming in the future. I got to try a couple before committing to a glass which I always appreciate. A bunch of Pinot noir which is my fave too. Drinks came out pretty slowly but our waitress always kept us updated and I'm sure they're still working out the flow. One of my favorite happy hours not for wine but for their bites - the bread board and sliders are so good. The bread slices are generous and come with different interesting flavors, and whipped butter + honey. The sliders lean almost Mediterranean with a nice cooling labneh and cucumbers, the meat is seasoned well. The wines are honestly pretty non remarkable, their current Tuscan on tap is my favorite of their HH wines. Lots of wild and organic wines. I ordered a wine flight, I think it was called the Neighborhood Flight of wine. All the wines were really good! The "bread" they gave was of the ends of your loaf try to find something to dd with it variety, more lameness. The cracker was tasteless cardboard. Whatever that hummus looking stuff is, also did not go well. Where's the honey? Where's the spicy mustard? Why only 1 small piece of cheese? Such a fun experience overall. The day I went there was a pizza pop-up, which was great because the pizza was really delicious and a solid portion for the price. I originally came for their frozen rosé, but they were out, which was a bit of a bummer. I ended up getting the orange wine instead and it was still really good. I ordered meatballs and they were delicious! The service was great. I sat at the bar and Dylan was my server and he was very attentive and professional, but also conversational when I engaged him. When I left, I did buy a growler of the wild Pinot Noir to go.... it was so good I couldn't resist! The ambience there is great because it's very open air and you can sit inside as I did or on their patio... They even have a little bowl by the door with dog treats in it. I really enjoyed this spot. I came here actually twice on my latest visit to San Diego. Located right in the heart of Little Italy, the wine bar has so many seating options from seating inside, to high top bar seating, rooftop lounge, outdoor quiet patio seating, or up front on the patio where the action is. The bar often hosts live music, which we got to enjoy. It's a more chill experience and exactly what we were looking for. It's a nice date spot since it's a little quieter, even with the live band since we sat outside. The second time we went, we sat up on the roof and enjoyed some wine with some of their snacks. The food was delicious and it was a nice spot to watch the airplanes fly overhead as they came into the very busy airpot nearby. Finally, I love a wine bar that is totally okay with you tasting the wine before committing. The vibe was bro-y and we were told that happy hour was only when seated inside not on the patio-- where we sat. Which we were fine with. However, when we got to the rough top, another couple sat next to us-- they asked what was on HH, and the server didn't bat an eye, but rather mentioned that since they're being served by him-- he'll give them the HH prices. This place is very cute for a girls night or a date! Lights are hung everywhere and they do a great job of making it pretty. The servers are friendly and helpful with recommendations. We ordered the Fresh Flight ($35) and Solid Oak Sampler ($38) to share for two. I liked four out of six of the wines, which is reasonable, and the charcuterie board was pretty good. I would just note that it's a deceptively large board for very little actual food that is just spread out to look pretty. For the price I would expect a bit more to eat. I saw tables around us ordering some of the other appetizers that weren't boards and they seemed to get more food for the value. We came to Pali Wine after spotting an opening on OpenTable, and since we love Little Italy, we decided to give it a try. To our surprise, the food was outstanding--creative, layered with flavor, and beautifully executed. The front wine bar is charming, and while the back courtyard felt a little plain at first, it came alive when a live Cuban band started playing. They were fantastic and added so much to the atmosphere. We ordered quite a spread: the tea-infused chicken (cooked perfectly), a charcuterie board, the bread with herb butter (so flavorful), and the hummus topped with pesto oil, roasted red peppers, chili, and sauce--so many layers of flavor. The olives were tasty, though the portion of labne on the bottom was smaller than expected. The fingerling potatoes were another standout, super crispy, layered with butter sauce on the bottom, shaved Parmesan, and pine nuts--absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good. The kids had the burger, which was also solid delicious. One of our guest asked were just warm water and they said they cannot accommodate her request which was kind of awkward. But we didn't press on it. To drink, we tried the Pali Sauvignon Blanc. As a big fan of New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, I was pleasantly surprised by how crisp, refreshing, and flavorful the California version was. I'm a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc type girl. Service was good, but the food and live music more than made up for it. Overall, this was a great experience, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Little Italy. read more

We each ordered a glass from the Happy hour selection: I really enjoyed the un-oaked Chardonnay and my husband had a glass of red along with the Olive Medley appetizer. I've been there now two times for the comedy show on Wednesdays I love the show and the comedians are funny. It's awesome that it's a free show and no minimum purchase required. The last time I didn't do a review but this time the food was pretty good. They serve interesting options. Wish they had a flat bread or something, the patata brava is really good! The tuna tartar was pretty tasty, and I had the persimmon caprese with burrata and it was missing something not sure but it was an interesting taste.
