I came here back in 2019-2020. I can say it was a lot better then. When I asked the cashier if they remembered when it was just a stand. They didn't have a clue. So much for knowing who you work for and what they stand for. I feel the upgrade has a nice concept yet it is lacking customer serivce and more staff. I could tell the staff was overworked with the amount of traffic flow. We came when there was a power outage. For the luck of grace it came back on shortly after we checked out. We also order ice cream in the way out and a milk shake. 1st we got a peanut chocolate milk shake that looked more like chocolate milk. Then they got the order wrong it had milk instead of almond milk. Asked for a refund and she said she redo it. I asked kindly to make it more thick. It did not come out anymore thick. She added too much liquid. Looked like the new hire wasn't properly trained in ratio content. Then they forgot to get our bear claw ice cream. We saw a tall lad that was not working and just overseeing the other staff struggle. So sad. As far as the young lady giving out peaches outside in the stand. She looked more like she was ready for the gym than being at work. I can tell you it was offensive to see her in tight leggings. I sure wife's don't appreciate their husbands have free eye candy at a moments turn. We will not be stopping here again. So sad because I would talk about the old little stand from back in the day to everyone and how wonderful it was to go after driving from Denver on the 70. It was a nice treat. This is a great place to grab peaches and pears and Colorado food items! Our basketball team used them last year for a fundraiser so it was fun to stop in person and see what else they offer! Go out of your way to get here! But if you are passing through, you don't have to go far. It is immediately off the highway on Elberta Avenue with easy off and on access -- and right across from the gas station. So there's a two for one for long-haul or passerby travelers. This is one of the most popular go-to spots for peaches in the region. And the building is fairly new -- about two years old. The team is friendly, kind and helpful -- especially when it is your first time and you are brand new to the area. They offered recommendations and talked about the on/off peach season. Peach season begins in late June, early July-ish and continues through September. I learned a quite a bit by visiting. When you walk in, you will see the counter for the fresh items and ice cream on display. The peach ice cream likely won't be on display, but be sure to ask for it. There is also a wall of other items, like their popular jar of peaches and jams. My two favorite items by far are the peach ice cream and the pear vanilla jam (which you cannot currently order online, sadly). During my several days in the Grand Junction/Palisade spot, I came nearly daily for the ice cream. When heading out of town, I stopped by on the way out to get a scoop of ice cream, a pie, the jam and some jarred peaches. All very, very good. But this place isn't just about peaches. They sell sauces, preserves, jams, butters, pickled items and also bakery items. Their pies -- sweet and savory -- are very popular. On multiple visits, I saw others purchasing the bake-at-home pies they make here. Sounds like popular dinner items for local folks. During the holidays, you can order -- and, currently, pre-order -- pieces. Flavors are abound: peaches, pump,kin, pecan, cherry, mixed berry, etc. As for the savory pies, they offer beef pot pies, vegetable pot pies and chicken pot pies. You can also purchase gifts here, like clothing, jewelry, soaps and kitchen items. And if you are in the Denver area, you are in luck, because the team appears to regularly attend pop-up markets in the area. They keep a schedule on their Facebook page of where they are going to be. As soon as I got back home, I ordered more peaches and jam. This goes well on sliced, toasted sourdough, with yogurt, with vanilla ice cream and, for the peaches, salads, especially spring mix and arugula salads. I may be visiting in 2025, and I cannot way to go back in person. read more

I would highly recommend the Palisade Peach Shake for a quick grab and go breakfast, and shopping for peach related items like Salsas etc. The Peach Shack is located right off the highway and it's very convenient. We really enjoyed the hand pies and the sausage burrito. The hand pies (remind of pot pies) came with gravy on the side. The burrito came with a peach salsa on the side that was really good. Great little shack with lots of food and drink options! Today we got an iced caramel macchiato and an iced lavender latte, both with oat milk. Honestly the best coffee we've had during our month long camping trip! Service was on point, the staff were all incredibly nice and even had a guy coming around with cherry samples. It seemed pretty clean as well, I'm not sure if they have a bathroom or not, but our kids didn't have to go, so we didn't check. We ended up with over $50 worth of drinks, pastries, and a pie for later. We definitely will be back, 10/10 recommend! read more

Ordered 4 jars Palisade Peach Jam online. Very disappointed in the product received. It was so runny, it was more like syrup than jam. It was a very dark color and had an odd odor. Didn't feel comfortable consuming it so threw all 4 jars away. Not sure if this is standard for this company, but it certainly was sub-par. Let the buyer beware! read more

Darling little place! Stopped here last year when we on our way to Aspen and were starving. They have Chicken-Pot-Hand-Pies! Need we say more??? A delish little much-needed snack that held us over until we reached Aspen. Stopped here on our way West on Tuesday to pick up more + their Peach Hand Pie. Friendly service. We came for the u-pick and had a blast! Reserve your time slot online, then pay for the ticket at the counter. The ride is short to the field where the rows closest to the road are set aside for u-pick visitors. The variety at the end of the season was the glohaven, which is beautifully colored and very flavorful (also a free-stone!). There were ladders to reach the tree tops, and the orchard is a lush green encove perfect for some fun photos. Prices are reasonable and the same as what is sold in stores/farmers market. This stop is just off of the freeway and is so much easier and delicious and adorable than trying to make a quick stop in the bigger towns nearby. I grabbed a delicious oatmilk latte, a fresh pastry and was able to get back on the road. They have a huge selection of gifts, savory and sweet foods and it made my morning to find this place. First, the pocket sandwiches are very good! I had a peach pocket and the chicken pot pie. The bomb, baby! The gravy for the chicken pot pie went so well with the pocket. It really made it come to life! I also had the veggie breakfast burrito. That was okay, but the pockets are where it's at. Plus the samples they had were amazing. As you might guess, the staff is incredibly friendly too! This place is really for anyone: single person, day daters, families, whoever. They offer ice cream as well and there seems to be a lot of space for everyone! This is always a nice stop when we are traveling the Interstate. We're in our RV, so any fresh produce is nice to have. If you are in the fall, grab some Palisades peaches on your way by. I was a bit disappointed (September 29th) that there was really a limited amount of other produce besides various fruits. It really matters to the season. They also have ice cream, gourmet regional gifts, usually some frozen roasted Hatch chilis. The peach/cream smoothie - was really disappointing. Just saying. So the four star for lack of more produce and the not so great smoothie. read more

"Would you like a free ear of freshly steamed corn?" asked the guy behind the fruit stand adjacent to the Palisade Peach Shack building. How could I resist? Even though it was only 11 AM, the freshly peeled ear of corn handed to me was perfectly steamed. Of course, I had to sing the corn boy song, and the guy at the fruit stand sung it with me too! Even without butter, or salt and pepper, it was still an absolutely delicious treat to enjoy while perusing the Shack. The Shack has all sorts of gift items, including peaches by the box, or by the pound. There was also Colorado honey, t-shirts in homage to peaches and Colorado, and even smoothies and other food items. They are also pet-friendly at the outdoor part of the shack, unlike some of the other peach stands right down the road. The peaches I bought were amazing, even in October! Can't wait to return. You HAVE TO stop! Right off the highway. Bought home made peach pie, apple turn overs for breakfast, Peach honey, peach wine , peach muffin mix, did the pick your own trailer tour as well. Everyone super nice and kept 2 boxes of peaches (one organic & one picked) as well as a case of corn in the fridge till I left. You are also able to have a mini wine tasting. I recommend the black berry & lavender wines. Oh and the home made peach ice cream seems to made with real vanilla bean. It was to die for!! read more

WARNING! The preserves are not preserves they are jam. They are made by someone else and just labeled for Palisade Peach Shack. We only had a short time to shop. Lesson learned, should have bought one jar and tasted. Would not have bought the other 5 jars. No flavor . Many products on the shelves have no pricing. Snack items are made elsewhere with no clue on shelves or signage for cost. If I need to ask someone, I leave it alone. Very disappointing, will not be returning. read more

What a great spot to stop! They have all the things peach during peach season! Mini pies, big pies, delicious peach smoothies and peach shakes! I enjoyed the shake and my husband loved the smoothie! We read a previous review from a customer on yelp, and made the decision to stop into this place on our way out of Palisade. Glad we did. We like the cute hats, bought a T-shirt, and had frozen lemonades and ice cream. We took home beef, chicken, and a breakfast sausage savory pie uncooked with directions and two peach hand pies. They cooked exactly right even at home, and we cleaned everything up. Including the peach pie. It was really really good and we will definitely go back and do that again. There's not anywhere sit down to eat there, so even though they sell food it's not really a restaurant, but those pies were worth standing on a corner or tailgating out of your trunk if you had to. read more

I reserved a tour online (staff recommend pre-booking as it gets busy) but cancelled my tour after I arrived. It seems like a perfectly nice farm, but the language of "tour" made me believe that it would walk us around the orchard and tell us its history, how the trees grow, how everything is harvested, fun facts about the various varieties, etc. Upon arriving I learned that the "tour" isn't really a tour, but rather your entryway to be able to pick your own fruit. They do have a guide that will tell you a bit about the fruit, but I still feel the language is misleading. The tour also costs money before you even pay for what you pick (I believe $7 for adult and $4 for children, with military/student discounts), which was also not advertised when I booked it online. Overall, it disappointed me because I specifically sought out this orchard for the (misadvertised) tour, but if you just want to pick fruit you'll be fine. read more

It was my first time to the Palisade Peach Shack and my boyfriend's second visit to the area. He had been to the Palisade Peach festival once before and was expecting to find roughly the same level of peach perfection as he did then. To be fair, peach season is the end of June to the end of August. That being said the peaches here for sale weren't as up to standard as he would've thought, but we did enjoy a peach latte that was interestingly good! We also sampled a peach cobbler at the counter that was very tasty. We also bought a meh ginger molasses cookie from the bakery section and a lavender kombucha from Palisade Kombucha that was 10/10! It was both our favorite takeaway from the peach shack and a definite steal for only $8 (32 oz)! Overall, the shack was a fun little stop with interesting finds and friendly staff! read more
