Went down to get bagels for the weekend for our out of town guests. Ordered 6 cinnamon raisin, 4 everything, 2 crunch and 1 GF bagel. The girl ringing it up said it's be cheaper if she rang it in as a 10-pack, plus the 2 crunch and 1 GF. Fine, but she gave us 10 plain, 2 crunch and 1 GF. We didn't discover this until we got home in Palisade. Plain bagels are the worst. EDIT: Drove 40 min round trip and they gave us the correct bagels, so I've updated the rating. read more

My friend and I recently did a road trip from Las Vegas to Grand Junction and we were lucky enough to visit Main Street Bagels twice. Once for lunch and again for breakfast. Our first visit was on our first full day as we were looking to eat at a local business and happened to come upon Main Street. I had the turkey/cranberry sandwich for lunch and it one of the best tasting sandwiches I have had. The sweetness worked well with the savory. The day we were leaving to head home, we stopped in first thing in the morning to have breakfast. I had the scrambagel with ham on a garlic bagel. The bagel itself was good as the outside had a crunchy texture with a soft inside. Overall the service was friendly and the main store is connected to an annex that also works as an art gallery as well as an additional place to eat. They do have outdoor seating as well for when the weather cooperates. Definitely on my list to come back to when I visit Grand Junction again. read more

I really loved every aspect of this place. Family owned, great ambiance (wonderful collection of pothos plants right in front), staff were friendly and the food was great. Probably the best cinnamon roll we've ever had. Egg bagel sammies were good, but there's room for improvement (I may have just picked the wrong option). Coffee tasted good as well. Main Street Bagels has a monopoly in bagels in town. Your only other option is Einstein, which is a chain. The bagels here are alright. The everything bagel is not what you get most anywhere else- everything includes raw oats for example. A bacon egg and cheese bagel is $12 and it is bland tasting egg, with a dot of cheese and a strip or two of microwave bacon. You do get a lot of egg inside though. You can get the same sandwich for cheaper in any major city. The service is never very friendly but it's not rude either. The place is older inside and has the feel of a deli from a few decades ago. It is not worth the wait if the line is long as it will take you a long time to get your food. If you are in a pinch and want to throw down $12 for an average sandwich, this place is fine if there isn't anyone in line. read more

This place warmed me up with very nice service, great coffee and pastries for breakfast. I go to Main Street Bagels every Friday morning and there's a lot to like there. The service is very good! I think the friendly smiles of the staff are genuine, and the service is quick. Because this is a popular place, the line can get long, but that isn't a real problem because the service is quick. The coffee is decent. I'm on the fence about their baked goods. The breads are good, the croissants are quite good, the cookies, scones and muffins are all great! They make some amazingly good sandwiches. And that brings us to their bagels. I love a good New York style bagel. Sadly, for me, these are west coast bagels. Too large, too soft and fluffy and lacking in taste. If you like them, that's OK, I won't judge. Still, covered with lox, tomatoes, onions and capers they are more than acceptable. Their egg scramble sandwiches are also great. I just wish they gave their bagels the advantage of an overnight rise and a boil in water with malt in it to boost flavor and give them a good crisp crust. When you're ordering a to go item, you should 100% have napkins, silverware, and everything that that person needs to eat what you are serving them Especially because they load their bagels with Schmierer so if you give someone a to go order with no napkins, they're going to absolutely hate you. But as line formed to 14 behind me 4 people were standing around bs'ing. Finally one of th went to other register. My food was bagged and sitting on the food prep counter as girl that made it walked away, to do other orders I waited as more orders were put out. I was a little leery about trying the Palisade peach cream cheese. Sounded interesting and it highly impressed my tastebuds. I wish I could buy a pound of this to take home. It was so yummy! Well, ugh it finally happened after living in Colorado from 7/97-1/2017, and going back to visit after moving out of state, my most recent visit on 9/12/22- was not only EXTREMELY disappointing, but both my grandson & I became ill. Within a half hour after eating our meal ( split things with him & my husband), I developed a case of stomach upset & nausea. When I dropped my grandson off at 4 pm, he vomited twice by 5:30. My husband didn't become ill, thankfully, but he didn't have smoothies. I had an orange smoothie & my grandson had peach. Somehow, I feel that perhaps they're not keeping a watchful eye on the freshness of ingredients. So, when I return for a visit again I will not be returning there.
