Arrived at 8:15 this morning for them to say "yes we open at 8, but we're still setting up and won't be ready for 45 minutes". He acted as if this was normal business operating procedure and seemed surprised that I didn't want to wait 45 minutes just for them to get ready. Just to be clear: it wasn't a wait because they were washing other cars or there was some emergency they had to deal with. That I could understand. If you're not open for business until 9am then that's when you open. Just because employees arrive at 8 doesn't mean your open at 8. Not a good first impression. read more

I am very OCD when I have to hand over the keys to my car to anyone. For example, when I would pull up to the valet in the lotus.. I would park it myself and they would look at me funny. But I would look at them funny bc they prob wouldn't even know how to start the car and would stall out. Anyways, I am very meticulous about getting my cars cleaned. To my surprise it was so well cleaned. I mean, I didn't even see any water spots (they use a leaf blower) to get all the water out in spots you can't get with a rag. They don't over do it on the tire shine so when I take a sharp turn, I won't slide away into the ocean off the pch. They really cleaned all the crevices and did a stellar job. These guys are true professionals! They recently did a deep clean our two dumpsters. I live in a community with 20 units - nearly 50 residents so I was stressing a bit about the downtime we would have while they cleaned but it was absolutely painless. They did the research on the times and dates of our areas trash collection and showed up not long after both were emptied to get started on the deep clean. We drove from SF to LA recently and the car looked like a mess when we got to LA. We dropped our car off at Pitstop and they cleaned the exterior and interior in about 50 minutes. It's right next to a nice shopping area, so there's stuff to do while your car is being cleaned. The Pitstop people are really nice and did a great job on the car. Notice how most car washes in LA have a rating of about 1 star? That is because it's not easy to have a good car wash. Automatic machines don't get all the dirt off, then they dry your car with dirty towels leaving swirl marks everywhere. This place is great, your car comes out sparkling, they have fast turn-around and friendly service. Only complaint is that they could be open for an additional hour in the morning and evening. If they opened at 7am or even 7:30 I would be very happy. read more

I just had my Land Rover detailed yesterday for the first time at the Palisades Pit Stop and boy did they do a fantastic job!! I have two young kids and five dogs in the car on a daily basis and let me say that the car was in absolutely frightening condition when I dropped it off. Let's just say that I happily paid extra to have them get it clean....because it was that bad!! When I arrived in the afternoon to pick it up, I truly could;t believe it was the same car. I assumed the extra cost would ensure an undamaged vehicle. Unfortunately Pitstop failed their interview car wash with me by breaking the headlamp washer head (a little plastic bit) off my bumper and then leaving it sitting there hoping I wouldnt notice until after I was gone. When I stopped to adjust my mirror, I did notice and after I found the part in the street I returned to complain but didn't receive a refund. @Igness: Your team made the first mistake trying to hide this, you made the second mistake when you decided to scribble 'free wash' on a business card rather than return my money when I asked. I have lived here for 12 years, but always went to the car wash by Ralph's. When I needed my car detailed I went for a quote and was very impressed with the kindness and know how of Gary, the owner (the new owner as I just found out from the May 2, 2018 Palisades News) of the Pit Stop. My car looked like new, and he also buffed out scratches, put in a headlamp, and did some other necessary work that would have cost $100 and a long wait elsewhere. I then detailed my second car there as a result and now do all washes there. While he is more expensive than the car wash at Ralph's, the work is better, the service is better, and he and his wife are very down to earth and kind. Highly Recommend!!!! read more
