    Controlled Hydronics - $500 repair.

$500 for 1.5 hour of a technician on-site to install a 3" pipe and some tape to fix an exhaust…read moreleak. This pipe is easily accessible, and the technician had equipment to detect where the leak was. The fix didn't even need tools to do the job. The only reason I didn't fix it myself is that we were out of town. The technician was on-site less than 1.5 hours, but the bill was for 2.5 hours. A company rep claimed that the extra time on the invoice was drive time. We were supposed to get a service contract before the technician came out, but we have yet to see that. They just invoice whatever they want. We never actually agreed to having them service the system. Their website says 'satisfaction guaranteed'. That's not the case. The photo shows what a $500 repair looks like.

Most people that service the mountain towns can't live in them too cause there just too expensive and nowadays no one wants to work. These younger generations they don't want to learn hard trades that don't include a computer or a phone. Don Jones has had his company as long as I have lived in the western slope. His company has survived some major seasonal changes, regularly, economic changes, like 2008 and now, and is very good at his job. It takes so much out of one guy to run a crew of guys and always get a perfect result, sometimes that's not always the issue. Cut the company some slack . They've been in business longer than you have. Great job Controlled Hydronics! You maintained professionalism and integrity for more than 3 decades! We glad you're still here.

He said I needed a blower motor. I asked how much and he said cost would be approx. $650 for repair. He came back with motor, installed it and charged $1100. He said it had a 2 yr warranty on repairs. After this repair, It did the same thing after each repair visit. He came out three more times and every time told me my 11 year old boiler was old and needed replacing. The cost to replace it would be $8K for a new boiler alone. After 4 service calls and the quote of $8K, I did some research. I called the factory.. they said "average life of this boiler is 15-20 years". They asked me if the boiler was leaking, I said no. They said, then you do not need a new boiler. I called another repair company in Montrose to check it out. They came out and in 45 minutes had it fixed. Repairman said his own personal boiler was 25 years old and he had never touched it. They charged me $600 for the repair. You can make up your own mind if you think Liberty is reputable or not.

That's when I knew this would be a good experience, and I wasn't wrong. He arrived on time and went right to work. Jacob is a well-mannered professional who charges reasonable rates and is easily willing to go above and beyond to get the job done and satisfy his customers. We will never use another plumbing service.

Since then, he has worked on other projects, and we have always had experienced consistent, reliable service, making them my go-to source for any plumbing issues. Jacob is very responsive and, on our calls, he is timely, professional, and straightforward. Many times he has patiently answered all of our questions. Replacing the main sewer line was a big project, and again Jacob did an excellent job. Since then we Jacob has fixed other issues, and upgrades. We have had our toilets replaced, laundry hookups installed, a water filtration the system hooked up with more improvements planned for the future. Jacob really goes out of his way to be helpful. Just today I found that my sprinkler system pipes had burst- this was no emergency and not a real plumbing issue, but Jacob showed up after finishing a job in town, and came to take a look anyways. Jacob is a plumber, so he does not do sprinkler systems, but again he showed up to take a look, and help explain what the problems might be. He was helpful in suggesting a specialist in town that he recommends. He pointed out where some of the problems areas are, and what I should look for. This was a big help as we needed to give an idea to our insurance of the extent and nature of the winter damage. This was very helpful. I'd expect most plumbers just to tell me "I don't do sprinklers" and hang up. Jacob though came right over after I called, and as always was very reliable, professional, and responsive. We very much recommend Pipe Dreams Of The Southwest for plumbing issues. Very positive experiences is working with someone who is experienced and trustworthy.
