The word Aikido comprises 3 separate Japanese words: Ai, or harmony, Ki, or cosmic energy, and Do, or "The Way", as in a "Way of Life". Thus, Aikido literally means "The Way of Life in harmony with Ki". It is an example of what is considered a "soft"-style, as opposed to a "hard"-style, martial art (such as Karate or Taekwondo). Nihon Goshin Aikido (NGA) is an extensive and comprehensive set of scientific principles which, when mastered, can be transformed by the practitioner into a unique art form creating movements of beauty, grace and devastating power. The skills it teaches are founded in scientific principles of physics, geometry, anatomy and biomechanics. The acquisition of those skills requires a substantial physical, mental and emotional commitment by the student.

Recently joined YMCA…read more Absolutely loving all the amenities plus love the fact they are so family friendly. I can drop off my son while I work out. He loves the children area and soon his baby swimming lessons. Love the teachers here who are so caring and nice. So far I have taken a few group classes and enjoyed them. The gym is nice as well with good updated equipment. I like the cleanliness and variety of the machines. The only thing that could get a upgrade is the bathroom shower area. It seems a little dated. Overall a good gym option if you have kids or are in Boynton Beach area. ~

Coach…read moreYarelis was very helpful; she provided detailed explanations about what my daughters would need to join the swimming and offered guidance on areas they could improve. She suggested they enroll in levels 5 and 6. Additionally, she showed us around the facility, which included a beautiful pool and a well-maintained environment. As a result of this positive experience, we decided to become members. I would also like to thank the staff member at the front desk for his assistance.
