Dr. DaSilva specializes in migraine treatment. Dr. Silva has led me through so many different types of treatments, literally trying almost every medication available, tirelessly helping me through cycles of seeing what did and didn't work, different combinations, etc. With his care and assistance, we have finally figure out something that works, and now I go in every 3 months to receive injections, a very quick procedure which is always pleasant due to Dr. DaSilva's upbeat, optimistic demeanor and manner. Chatting with him during the injections is a great distraction from the procedure itself! Thanks to the efficient, friendly front desk staff who get me in and out so quickly. Thanks for showing the food network in the waiting room tvs, where there is usually ample space for everyone to sit. The chairs are comfortable, old-school style, with little tables placed here and there to put your stuff down. The office building is fairly easy to find, with a parking lot that has never been completely full any time I have visited.

I went into Dr Alvarez office for a transforational injection today which Dr Alvarez and staff use…read morea a fluoroscope guiding the needle into place .I want people to understand the difficulty Dr Alvarez had today with my procedure. It wasn't the normal in and out epidural. First off I've had several back surgeries, and I have a lot of hardware, plus a tremendous amount of stenosis on the lower back from L3, L4,L5 S1.He tried to go in the side the last time and succeeded, but it wasn't as.successful as today . Because of my stenosis and so tight he went underneath and went below the point and found a very, very narrow opening to slide the needle in,to give me the relief I needed from the injection. He found it and it was extremely successful. I was limping and in a great deal of pain when I walked in his office. Almost immediately. After the procedure and walking to the parking lot I could feel a difference. Now six hours later unbelievable difference and I have almost zero pain and no numbing in my feet. After the procedure he discussed the procedure in great detail and showed me the extremely narrow opening he had, from my stenosis and hardware in my back. If you have pain or need a procedure done , go see Dr Alvarez and his staff and let them work their majic . You will not be disappointed. My many thanks to him and his great staff . The attitude is rude and dismissive, which makes an already stressful situation worse. If you value respect, accuracy, and quality care, go to HSS or the Paley Institute instead -- their doctors are far more competent, and their administrative teams actually treat patients with courtesy and professionalism.

I tried explaining my family history of Stomach cancer, and Olga Fernandez, ARNP, refused to schedule an Endoscopy. Instead, Olga ordered medication for my gastric reflux because of symptoms I described. Thank God I found another Gastroenterologist, who performed my Colonoscope and Endoscopy, and found several, Polyps in my Stomach, which were found because they had the clinical knowledge to order my Endoscopy, which is as important as a Colonoscopy, and equally Life.-Saving. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 34-years, and I do not have confidence in Nurse Practitioners, that work in place of Medical Doctors In Specialty areas.
