Second time here. Nice, CLEAN 3 rink facility. Long public session with excellent ice, even an ice cut during the session. Cleanest bathrooms and benches (rinkside) I've seen in a long time (Ellenton Ice should take note). A pro shop that is open during the day, lots of parking. Did I mention excellent ice and pristine facility. The only negative is $30 for a visiting one hour freestyle, otherwise 5 stars. read more

The previous time we tried on a Saturday to find the public session closed due to a hockey tournament. Again, no mention on the website. It won't happen again. I was so excited to finally take my kids to the ice skating rink for the first time, at a birthday party. Unfortunately, our experience fell flat. This birthday party took place while the rink was not open to the public, but instead of having us arrive early to sign waivers, select skates, get the skates fitted, and get up on the ice, all of this took place during the limited precious private skate time the birthday party had paid for. The party supposedly came with a host, but this was really just a young, non-manager person who knew little about the party process, and was the person who brought the food and got the shoes, instead of an adult manager from the business who actually knew what to do. Because of this, there was no manager or person in charge to ask questions to. This was so frustrating, because almost all of the children at the party had never skated before, but it was unclear on whether parents could also get skates and skate with the kids for free or if we could just pay for that on our own (I tried, and the poor young ticket taker didn't know what to do since the rink was officially closed) or wether the party host would be charged extra for letting an adult skate during the private party. I still don't know, but the only way for my kids to be able to skate was for me to go with them, so I did. After waiting forever for the poor host/attendant to get me skates. BY then my kids had fallen and were cold and pretty miserable, tears flowing. The birthday party also had hired a private instructor to help the kids learn, but she ended up spending a portion of the time helping the kids tie their skates. Like the parents all did. After the skating session, we were funneled into a party room, and a zamboni flattened the ice rink. Many kids kept their skates on so they could go back out afterwards. By then, the rink had opened and it was an open skate session. But the employees told the birthday girl and their mom that none of us were allowed to participate. This apparently wasn't included in the price of the party, even though we still had our rented ice skates on. This policy was so disappointing and ridiculous - and it would have cost them absolutely nothing to let all these excited children continue to skate- parents tried to offer to pay for this, but again the host person didn't know how to do that, so we all just left. How do I know about birthday party costs? Because the rink 'gave' each kid a cheap branded backpack with a flyer with details of the costs of throwing a birthday party there. I found this move unbelievably tacky and unnecessary. I hope the owners assess their policies, practices, and marketing techniques. I was so turned off by this place from the moment I entered to long after I left. What should be a fun, memorable experience was full of frustration, tears, and disappointment. read more

This is a great friendly ice skating rink. The staff are very nice and facility is clean. The bathrooms are clean as well. My kids and I love coming here. Make sure to bring a light jacket. They have skate bars you can rent to help you balance yourself for ones who are new and have not skated before. There are professional skaters on the rink always to help you in case you fall or get hurt. There is a small cafe that sells snacks and food such as pizza, chips, beers, wine, candy, etc... Like for example today the dogs were ready for pick up, but I had a very small window to pick them up because of a work call so I called them and they completed the entire transaction on the phone as I was driving and have the dogs ready at the front desk when I walked in. There is little to no supervision during public skate to ensure the safety of guests. I recently went here for a public skate session. Two older kids took one of the walkers and threw it around on the ice, which was dangerous because it was getting in the way of the skating lane. There was only one staff member supervising the guests, but he was skating around too so he wasn't fully paying attention. Anyway, these kids threw the walker while I was skating, which tripped and sent me sliding down on the ice. I got multiple injuries, including a few bruises and a scrape on my knee cap. None of the employees saw what happened, and I had to bring it to the attention of someone so that the walker could be taken away from these kids. The employees allowed these kids to go back onto the ice, where they proceeded to find another walker to throw around dangerously and recklessly. When I spoke to the attendant on the ice about it, she told them to stop, but did nothing else about it. My point is just that this is not a very safe rink to skate at, and you would be better off going to Coral Springs or Boca Raton instead. The employees here are mostly teenagers who can't properly ensure the safety of people during public skates, especially on nights where it gets crowded. read more

Took my two older daughters ages 12 and 14. They really enjoyed their time here yesterday. They have never ice skated (Florida girls) and won't stop talking about it. I am looking forward to coming back agian. It was crowded, I assume since it's winter break. The cafe was decent. Lots of food items hot and cold. My kids loved the French fries which were hot and delicious. My only suggestion would be to have a better system on the rented itemed, We rented the ice skating walkers, and other people just kept taking them, without asking. They should be numbered or marked somehow. Since they weren't, the second they were placed down another person who didn't want to pay to rent it would take it. Which wasn't the establishments fault people are rude. But with a better system this could easily be fixed. read more

Palm beach skate zone has been a location where people have been arriving for years here in lake worth. I remember coming here as a school child for field trips and now as an adult I can report what is great and what is not so great. For starters I love love love how the staff is ready to help maneuver us and guide kids off and on the ice zone. You take a moment to observe and they do more than tell you to get up , they stop and ask if you need help and lift you when you feel like you are alone in the world without salvation. So good job guys my quirky and energetic teenagers applaud you for being helpful and sincere. Let's talk music.. I WANT MORE VARIETY TO GET THE PARTY STARTED!! lights - disco ball something to make it festive and pop. Imagine coming to a location with teenagers (12-17) I need to motivate them not to be sitting out and playing on their phone- but be with it. Food and snack bar is ok- I mean I won't stop and buy food there because I don't believe in $7 for a slice a pizza and a bag of chips ( for example) but it's there to feed. I loved the staff - I am always thankful for facilities that can cater to big groups that circulate in and and of a building especially during the summer year. So my rating would be C+ you do good but I think we can make it more fun to appeal to everyone when people come to skate, music -games- fun lighting something to JAZZ it up. We visited the Palm Beach Skate Zone for a weekend of SAHOF games. The rink was very clean and inviting. My daughter and her friend loved the bubble hockey table. There was also frequent reminders over the intercom alerting spectators to ensure there was 6 feet in between them while they were present. Well managed all around. read more

3/23/2015 - First time here for an adult hockey game. It's a big complex with several ice rinks. Speaking of ICE, dress accordingly. We were freezing our little butts off. Luckily there is a concession stand that offered coffee & hot chocolate as well as soft drinks, beer, candy, baked goods, etc. We ordered two hot chocolates and that kept us warm while we watch the game. We really enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely be back to watch another game! read more

My kids took lessons here this summer and in just a couple of lessons went from not being able to stay up to actually being able to skate. It's amazing how fast they learned! Today we're at Family Skate with my two and my two nieces. The staff is great! They fell a couple times getting started and the employee on the ice, Daniel, was right there to help them up and get them going. All the employees are so great with the kids. I spoke to the manager, Joe, and let him know what a good job his staff was doing and he seemed genuinely interested in the feedback. I came for a weekend skate today and it was great. Until more and more people kept coming in and the rink was overflowing with people. The screens said both rink 2 and 3 were open for public skate today. However when we asked the employees if they were opening the second rink because there was no room for anyone to skate in the only one open they kept saying something different everytime. "In a minute we might" "there's not enough time, only 2.5 hours left" it was insane. Normally I love this rink and it's great but I don't get why they claimed you could skate in both rinks but weren't allowing anyone to? It was way too packed and not worth the 50$ we paid to trample over everyone the entire time. Really upset :( read more

'Ello chaps! What more could you want when living in the Florida paradise? Bone chilling fun of course. Laced up the skates and took a few spins on the ice and boy was it fun! Palm Beach Skate Zone features several ice and roller rinks with ample space for hockey teams, public openings and parties. Public skate was great, but you have to be careful when there are a large amount of kids on the ice. Lots of slip and falls. I believe it was $10 for public skating plus $3 for skate rental. The skates are def well worn. They're not the worst, but they're not in the best condition. They're exactly what you would expect for $3. Public skating is open for about 2.5 hours which is more than enough time. Even casual ice skating can be more tiresome than you think. There is a small cafe inside the Skate Zone featuring various cold and hot foods. Again, you're getting ice rink food, not a 5 star cuisine. Prices aren't bad though. I gnome fun and this place is fun. Enjoy! read more

My grand children went to their summer camp for three weeks. They had never been ice skating but in a day two of them were skating like champs. The third one was reluctant but by the second week he was skating too. The staff was attentive and great with the kids. They had a daily art project too. Skate zone has 2 ice rinks and one roller rink. The facilities aren't plush but it's a ice rink!! Snack bar is decent and doesn't break the bank. I must say the management is on top of things- they are almost always available and actually respond to emails when you have questions (unlike ice den). Every time we're there, staff is cleaning. This review is strictly for the roller skating portion only. The good: 1. Not too expensive. We paid $5 for admission and $2 for skate rental. My non skating husband got in for free. 2. They have a little snack bar with a decent selection. They sell beer which is neat, but crappy beer. 3. Rental roller skates were in better shape than I have seen at other places in the past. 4. Very friendly employees. Everyone we encountered was nice. The not so good: 1. Parents are allowed, (or at least they were allowed on this particular visit), to walk alongside kids on the floor that can't skate. I have no problem with people that don't know how, but they didn't seem to stay to the side. If you like a little speed you tend to spend more time dodging the little ones. 2. Maybe nitpicky, but on more than one occasion I was picking up things that had been dropped on the floor. I know what happens when kids are there, but I would think you would have someone dedicated to picking up trash. 3. It is my understanding they only offer roller skating on Saturday and Sundays from 3-6 pm. I wish they had another morning or evening for skating. 4. Roller skating area is quite hot. They aren't the best skating rink, I really get the impression they seem to cater more to ice skating, but we will return. It's a good value and a good time. read more

Great sized rink. Good quality skates. The canned music seems to repeat every hour, but kids don't mind. Let's talk about the snack bar now. They have this amazing menu with a ton of stuff. There is even a sign outside touting their new hamburgers and fries. After a 20 minute wait in line we were told there are no burgers or fries today. I asked how long and was told there were no more. I asked for a veggie wrap and was told they are only special order and they would not be making one. No one specified why that was. I got some chicken tenders (which were actually delicious) and a box of veggies and we ate. Ten minutes later, they had a big batch of fries ready to go. I found the manager, who seemed a little surprised that I was told they were out of certain foods. To his credit, he did offer me a free fries to compensate for it. He promised to talk to his staff about it. Overall, I would not bring my family planning to have lunch on a weekend but the skating is a great deal. read more

My family and I went here for our son's skating party on Sunday and we had such a great time . The staff even helped the little ones get their skates on. Our party host was very attentive and kept our party area clean and free of dirty plates and cups.The kids especially loved the Polar Bear mascot which stopped in to do photos with the party . The games that they played were great ,reminded me of being a kid again .We also were allowed to bring in our own decorations to personalize our party area in the theme my son wanted . To our surprise the party came with a nice drawstring tote bag as a goodie bag with some candy and coupons. It was a great time for everyone . I've been taking the kids here to ice skate for a few years. It's pretty fun, it's really nothing special but it's the only option for skating. The little kids are always skating in the wrong direction or falling in front of you so you have to be able to jump over them pretty quick. It's great on hot days, you can ice skate in the cool rink wearing shorts! I did check out their roller skating section and that's pretty dingy and depressing. Also super duper hot in there. I had to keep going by the ice skating section to cool off after a few laps. read more

If you at all care about the game of hockey and your child's development, stay way from this place. Management is incredibly disrespectful. I have witness the manager harassing parents over payments and yelling at his staff. He is incredibly dismissive and rude. They will continually ask you for more money for "more programs," but they do not believe in hiring enough staff to adequately run any of the programs, as the profits are their top priority. Therefore, your players won't learn anything, nor will they ensure the safety of your player. There is little to no oversight, especially any instruction/coaching for the kids outside of learn to skate. The communication for travel and rec is minimal at best. This used to be the only rink around and was a great hockey program, but it's clear why they can't keep a hockey director around. At this point, go to Ice Works, Ice Den, or the new Boca rink. read more
