I had a very disappointing experience with this tanning salon. I developed a rash after being…read moreplaced in a bed that did not have an adjustable face tanner, meaning there was no way to lower the intensity for my face. When I explained my concerns and asked not to use that bed again, especially because I was tanning before an important event and worried about another reaction, I was treated poorly instead of with understanding. The situation became humiliating when staff made me call the owner from the front lobby in front of other customers to discuss my rash and concerns publicly. I was then told that because the owner is "certified," she knew what was best for me, despite my previous reaction and discomfort. I felt like I had to beg not to be placed in that bed again. The atmosphere was stressful and unwelcoming, which is the opposite of what a tanning salon should feel like. Staff came across as rude and inflexible, and the membership policies were frustrating. Even when beds had longer session limits available, they would only allow extremely short sessions, making the membership feel like a waste of money. Ultimately, my membership was canceled because I advocated for myself and did not want to risk another rash. I would not recommend this salon if you value customer service, privacy, or flexibility. There are much better tanning options in Nampa and Middleton.

The facility is very dirty and with old and degenerating equipment. Aside from one employee who periodically vacuums, most employees sit around at the computer or back desk instead of cleaning, although it is clearly needed more frequently that this one floor tender can handle - so many dust bunnies and so much dirt in corners, on floors, and under equipment, equipment not put away (although that speaks more to the clientele), wet and moldy bathrooms with overflowing trash, frequently without clean towels to wipe down equipment, frequently without paper towels or soap in the bathrooms, rubber matting peeling up, a ceiling in the back room that looks like it is about to fall apart. They tried to spiffy things up with some new paint and murals, and then it all quickly fell back to dirt and disrepair. There is also a back room that it seems only the personal trainer and his clientele can use, with equipment not available to others at the gym and not replicated in the main gym. I have twice drawn blood during hours that the gym was unstaffed and could not find a first aid kit anywhere to properly clean the injury and protect the open wounds.

We've all come to expect that large corporations tend to focus on two things:…read more 1. Maximizing executive bonuses--even when the company itself is struggling, and 2. Delivering returns to shareholders. What often feels like an afterthought is the customer. To be fair, many companies talk a good game--much like the way some organizations publicly champion causes like supporting veterans--but too often, the follow-through just isn't there. That's why I'm genuinely glad to say this particular PBT location completely breaks that mold. The people here truly care. Take today, for example. I've spent the past month dealing with multiple surgeries and hadn't been able to visit. When I finally walked in, I was immediately greeted with, "Oh my gosh, David--I'm so glad to see you. I've been worried since I haven't seen you in a while. Is everything okay?" That kind of sincerity is rare--and it wasn't a one-time moment. This is how they consistently treat their customers. If more businesses had staff like this, the experience of being a customer would be entirely different. Great job, PBT. Always five stars from me.
