The planet Tan in Little Elm has the absolute best service in Dfw. Every time I go there I feel like they actually treat me like a queen from the min I walk in the door. The staff is super friendly and always ready to help. I could go to a closer location but because of this store sets the standard for customer service. I will tell my friends this is the location. She is very knowledgeable in her position and has welcomed me on several occasions and she lets her associates sale memberships without overstepping the sale which I've seen in the past at places like this. Tried to buy a membership here however I was lied to and told they no longer offer the silver membership?! I have attempted to terminate my membership on numerous occasions and each month the charge is still there. I also had been paying for my daughters membership, she has moved out of state and I wanted them to stop charging my credit card and they said she has to stop the charges I cannot. They keep taking money from my account every month and refuse to close either account. I guess I am gonna have to cancel the credit cards or hire a lawyer. Very clean and comfortable facility. Beds and booths are always well cared for and in great order for what you need. I am very satisfied with my product result. However, a member of the management team (Addison) is very rude and impatient with customers. His tone and demeanor are absolutely crispy and salty. I recommend not dealing with him if you can help it. The other staff is much nicer and most of the folks who work there are kind and professional. I deduct two stars for letting someone like Addison represent your management team, as it implies your overall business model may not be completely customer-friendly. Short story-- I go by my middle name as many people do and my membership officially is labeled with my preferred middle name. When I was asked for my identification before using the tanning facility today, Addison argued with me as if I were trying to impersonate a customer because the legal first name on my ID did not match the name shown in the company's system. Although my ID had my full name (including my first name and middle name that their system shows, my date of birth, my contact info, and my photo) he was argumentative and was going to refuse to let me in. He behaved as if I were an identity thief. It took getting the district manager on the phone to help. She was prompt in responding and was super nice in fixing the situation. My advice? I moved here from The Colony and from a smaller salon which I absolutely loved. I was worried because I loved the people who worked at my old salon and I was comfortable there. This Planet Tan is in a perfect location but it's the first thing you see coming in to town from 423 so of course I went there first. I'll say at first I wasn't sure. I signed up for a Gold Member package but he kept pushing the Diamond WHICH I understand I mean it's his job but it just worried me that I would always be hassled. Nope. Yes they offer the deals going on and explain what you need to be using but I never feel uncomfortable but I will admit he knows how to make you feel like you have to buy it so he does his job VERY well! Secondly I had never done spray tan and was so scared. I had a free one in my email and thought I would give it a go. He walked me through it, sold me products and I had to run home. When I came back another girl had to help me instead and she was just as awesome. I came out LOVING spray tans. Next time in I actually stopped bed tanning and signed up for unlimited spray tans. They are honestly sooo helpful and nice and really to a stay at home mom who spends her whole day inside talking to kids and a toddler, talking to them at the salon is like a vacation to me. I came in looking to get a tanning membership and I was blown away with the staffs knowledge, charisma, and kindness. As soon as I walked through the door Sabrina & Alexis made me feel more than welcomed and I told them that I was looking for a tanning membership, they proceeded to give me a tour of the whole saloon/each tanning room and explained to me the differences in between the level 1-5 beds. They have amazing sales techniques and did not make me feel like I HAD to buy anything from them, they asked me about my skin type then proceeded showing me the lotions they like/use and their recommendations for my skin type! By far the best tanning saloon experience I have ever had (way better than Palm Beach Tan) and a huge thank you to Sabrina & Alexis. read more

Went to Planet Tan Irving which I have gone to for the past 5 years. August last year they sold me an upgrade in August 2018 they told me good thru 2019 but when went to restart membership 2019 I no longer had the upgrade. The woman working the desk told me she had never seen this package before and speaking to the regional manager and manager above her told me they could do nothing for me. Pretty lame. read more

Customer service at this location is pathetic at best. If they are selling you something the staff is very helpful and all smiles, but as soon as you have an issue or question pricing they become rude and very unhelpful. If you try to call corporate about issues you can't get anyone in the phone. Don't waste your money on freezing your membership, bc the rates do change when you try to have it unfrozen. My review has nothing to do with the girls at the location as much as it does the company itself. I had an unlimited spray tan membership three weeks ago for $40 a month and I cancelled because I thought I was moving away from the location and we decided to stay in our current home so I went to get membership back and was told it is now $69. That is INSANE. I already had a rate and I don't understand why it would go up $30 a month. The company is clearly fine with losing a loyal customer and my money over the tanning salon down the road that is much more cost effective. Sad read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Was reprimanded by the staff in front of everyone in the store for buying lotion online from a wholesaler. There is NO law that says lotion can't be sold or bought online. If there is no law then it's not illegal. So I'm not committing a crime. Yes, that's what I was accused of doing. A tanning salon with a legit lotion contract selling lotion online is LEGAL. If you quit marking up your products so much then maybe I would buy them from you instead of my salon back home. Good job losing a customer Planet Tan. And yes, I will tell as many people as I can about my experience. Tell your staff not to humiliate customers for no reason and you might actually get repeat business. read more

I really like Planet Tan. It's a little expensive but so are their beds. You get what you pay for. The staff knows how to get you tan. They give great advice and are really friendly. They do try and sell the lotions pretty hard but if you wait they'll run specials and combined with the money you earn back from paying your monthly fees, they come out much cheaper. read more

So I wasn't going to my Allen location anymore because the girl behind the counter was very angry. When I approached she said, "what do you want"? I asked to unfreeze my membership for reactivation. She said, "what's your name"? I have an unusual one for a guy so I showed her my spelling on the card. She refused to look at it. She said, "just tell me your name". I stated instead of spray tan, use bulbs. She stated....verbatim...no embellishment, "I don't know what you mean"? I then said nothing. I walked out. I really later thought that she had no clear understanding of fluorescent rays vs spray. I went to the Little Elm location. The upsell was on with the re-activation being 20.00 plus my rate now has changed from 31.00 monthly to best price being 119.00 a month. The objective of a freeze is to keep the same rate. Planet Tan customer relations and Palm Beach are the same. It's the same company. The regional managers are assigned the duty of handling customer complaints and concerns. They monitor social media venues like Yelp. The play "the game". Their bosses see the posts. They see that the responses have been made by the regional manager to ensure good quality service has been....ok. You get the point. Ever look at a business model that has a monopoly on a region and know they really will keep customers because of the equipment quality only? It's this one. Every location employees pretentious, angry, non-smiling reps. This is a broad unfair stroke as I did run across a few quality employees in the past. Chris in Allen was one. I, am one, former customer that uses a competitor now. The Texas Tan employee's SMILE. Do not bother with a response Penelope. I think there was one named Katherine of Palm Beach that told me she didn't appreciate my feedback. Customer Relations Specialist should really study this group. This is the antithesis model. Seriously, walk in for the experience. You'll be amazed. Ask, "can I tan here"? Then watch horrible bait n switch sales tactics flow. --------------------- Please note, if you give this horror show Planet Tan a negative review, you will have the generic pasted response by marketing team response. Called today to check pricing for VersaPro spray tan and what specials they are running? The manager who is there, forget her name but I know she's been there for several years comes across very disingenuous. She quoted astronomical rates of $50 then quoted several package deals with various pricing! I indicated that I had gotten much better pricing in years past..I purchased one year in advanced a few years ago but swore I would never go back to this store because of the way I was treated and all the pricing gimmicks with the lotions etc. I also went to their sister company up the road the following year and had a much better experience but once again felt like you can't get a str8 answer on discounted offers After my conversation I brought up the Internet special that I get emailed from corporate and then the pricing becomes more reasonable! At the end of the day..the feeling is of a used car high pressured sales tactics with no rhyme or reason to the pricing. This year I'm going to try The Norvell spray booths at Sol Sunless tan. I came in to use a free tan session I received via email for my birthday- they were having a major special for the 4th of July (it was the 3rd) and so I ended up saving my free tan for a later date. I was able to use their level 4 bed for only $5! The bed was clean, in great condition and I was really pleased with the experience. I think I have a really good base tan and wanted to do about 10 of the 12 minute max tan time. I was talked down to only doing 8, and so now I am honestly not sure I see much of a difference, but oh well! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I do hate salons that are overly pushy on buying lotions from them.. they definitely tried to make me feel guilty for not buying even a sample. Only downside! I had no wait, clean and new-looking beds. Overall great experience! I would come again! read more

I am very disappointed with the way Planet Tan is managed. I purchased a few spray tans in May of 2017 from the Plant Tan at the Irving, TX location. I believe it was about $100, give or take. So I walk in and was greeted (everything great so far) I explained I was going to Las Vegas and wanted to redeem one of my spray tans. She looked me up on the system and could not find me. The young girl called another employee, she found my profile and told me I was out of luck, they had expired. I was never told that they expire when I purchased them originally, If I had known I would of never purchased a package. I do this on special occasions. I told the employee I was not in the business of giving Planet Tan my money without a service or product. The employee told me there was nothing I could do. I asked isn't there somebody I can speak to? She referred me to corporate, but they were closed. I asked her to please call a supervisor. She was very reluctant but she finally did. After a 10 min. phone call she told me she could only redeem one. She also let me know she would be getting in trouble for doing so. I'm now feeling bad and uncomfortable at this point. If what was said is true regarding a package of tans I purchased expires in 45 days, then Planet Tan is a lousy company to do business with, they are THIEVES. I never signed anything saying the future services purchased would expire. You're basically STEALING my money. Tanning is supposed to be fun, not stressful. Please fix your policy. I have been to this location twice and have had a very bad experience each time. The first time a young man was at the counter and when I approached him, he stared at me as if I should already know what to say. Um, I don't work here, I should receive a "Hi, what's your last name?" but instead I got a stare and a shoulder shrug. I told him my info, scanned my finger and went on without him saying a word except "k its ready" . My spray tan was awful, the machine was messed up and I looked like a cheetah . Already sensing the man at the counter did not care about his job anyway, I decided not to say anything and left. I recently changed jobs and money has been tight and my membership did not come out of my acct like it usually does, but I worked out a payment plan with a manager of my usual store and she put notes in the computer to let other locations know that it has been taken care of. My second time in this store, the lady at the counter announced in front of everyone that I had not paid my fee.(even after obviously seeing the note by the other mgr not to bug me about it) I explained the situation to her, and she said loudly, again, "so you gonna pay me today or what?" I politely told her again my situation and she then told me she "guesses she'll let me tan anyway" and was over all very rude, short, and loud with me. This planet tan is very convenient to go to on my lunch break from work, but after these experiences I will not be coming back and, once my fees are paid, I will be cancelling this membership. First of all....Before I moved to Houston I e-mailed saying to cancel my membership. I was told I had to go in personally and cancel, so I did. Never received anything they just said it was done. It's been over a year since I've been there. And today I opened up my Capital One statement and Planet Tan had taken out over $60!! My husband called the store they said no one ever cancelled. (which is NOT TRUE) They said they would go ahead and cancel the membership but they would NOT refund the $60!! He called the main office and no one answered and their mailbox was full. This company makes customers jump through so many hoops to cancel. Overall just slimy the way they conduct business. I'd also like to say I absolutely hated how I'd be hounded every time I'd check in I'd would be stalked about lotion. I have not used any of Planet Tans services and for them to charge someone $60 for NOTHING is disgusting. I'll be disputing the charge with Capital One ....And I'll be filing complaints to other agencies within the state of Texas.Completely outraged!!! read more

Every time I come to this location they can't find me in system. The ladies in the front are completely clueless and need to be educated on how to treat customers professionally. I would also say to work up front they should have a little knowledge on the beds and the versa/mystic, which the ones I have encountered don't. This place is a joke. My wife has been tanning here for 5 years and every time she goes in to tan, either the teenage "tanning expert" that they have working is more interested in leaving early than doing their job. Everyone that "works" here needs to be fired, especially managers. This place is literally run by girls and "guys" who are so annoyed that you want to tan because they have Facebook and Instagram to focus on. God forbid you want to tan within an hour of closing because they are ready to get the f out of there. They will literally race you to the door so they can lock it. And don't bother sending a complaint to corporate or talking to the manager. They do not care. My wife finally canceled her membership but it really pisses me off how they treated her the times she has tried to make use of the membership we were paying for.
