Not very nice people in office when they first started they were very helpful. That's when they needed money

I'm done... I've purchased sod here for several of my homes over the last 10 years (since 2015), always big projects, and these people are just rude, especially the woman that answers the phone. Rude rude rude.... This most recent time, (a few months ago) the farms couldn't cut the sod when I called. I asked if she could take my name and call me back when they can and she said "NO". WTF!! I'll pay an extra $100+ for delivery to tell them to FO! Never again will I give these rude people 1000's of my dollars. This last order that I went to someone else for was $12K in sod. Look at their responses to the negative reviews... Insults, rudeness, discrediting and accepting NO BLAME WHATSOEVER... Must be nice to have a 100% perfect without flaw company and product.... I have purchased sod (individual pieces) from here many times. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. One day they were out of sod, and I went to Neptune Nursery instead. The service doesn't even compare to Palm City Sod. Palm City Sod's staff is much better and the service from the men outside have always been great. I plant to continue buying from them. read more

Staff was rude on the phone, which should have been my first warning, but I needed sod to obtain my C.O. They over-delivered by 5 pallets and insisted I keep/pay for it even though I didn't order or need it. They did a horrible job on installation, leaving huge gaps between. We had to hire another company with a roller to make it even. I would not use these people again! read more

I bought 9 pallets of sod here, great service, good product, nice people. Iffff I were a brainiac millennial, this would be my review; 'OMG this place should be shut down. First, they left the sod outside overnight to suffer in the 81' rain. Not once did I see sod in eco-friendly airconditioned storage rooms. Its like they treated the sod like it wasnt even human. The sod came to my house and it was like dirty, with dirt under each blade of grass. The company must not be concerned about man-made global warming because the truck they delivered it in wasnt electric. And the staff... WOW, they pretended to be nice by saying like "hello, how may we help you" and giving me advice on installation. They smiled, a clear sign of whatever... After the grass was put in I noticed it was different lengths. My degree in 19th Century Guatemalan Vegan Poetry taught me that grass bought in Florida must be the same length, not 1/16 inch different. Whats worst of all.... My brother used Palm City Sod. At first it looked great. Then their lawn care company said that the lawn was retaining too much water. The lawn literally rotted. They called Palm City Sod and they said they don't use plastic. My brother had his old lawn stripped away and new topsoil laid down before getting his sod. Palm City Sod installed beautiful "muck based" floratam sod. Come to find out they put the sod down with plastic underneath, which they state they do not use plastic in their sod. Well they must use plastic because they must because every time they pull a weed or or rake up dead grass. Palm City insisted rudely, that my brother put the plastic down before they laid the sod. They did not stand behind their work and the quality was absolutely terrible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Wasted over $2000 and have to do it all again. AVOID PALM CITY SOD. read more

Bad experience with this company. I'm all for supporting a family owned company but after being screamed at by the owners son, Tyler, I will NEVER use this company or recommend them. I booked a week out but my sod never came, no one called, no one reached out, no one told me that they would not be coming. I called them at 4:30 and asked why they never arrived and I was told I would get a call back but never did. I called again an hour later trying to figure out when my sod would arrive since I was on a tight schedule and had other work to do in my yard. Tyler could not give me an answer. I received a call at 6:45 AM THE NEXT MORNING! Woke me and my 2 small children up. When I spoke to Tyler and asked if he could help me out on the price since he was a day late and cost me money by not delivering on time he began to scream and yell and then hung up on me and whenever I tried to call back he put me straight to voicemail. There are things he said that I will not put in this review but trust me when I say that the level of disrespect was so high that I have gone out of my way to write a review and warn people to be aware of TYLERS attitude, be careful not to expect customer service or basic human decency because you will be greatly disappointed! read more

Staff was pleasant on the phone but they delivered 7 pallets more than ordered and kinda pressured me to keep it and pay for it even though I didn't order or need it. They did a really bad job of laying the sod so we had to order top soil to fill in the huge gaps between and then had so many overlaid that we had to spend hours/days stomping down so it was more even. 15 minutes ago-Edit When I initially contacted Palm City Sod, Tyler came out and performed an estimate. Although I never received a written estimate, I was very happy with my interaction with Tyler so I moved forward. When I contacted the office they did not have the estimate either, so the person on the phone contacted Tyler and we went ahead and scheduled. Everything was going well, initially, I ordered sod for the front of the house and was going to do the work for the backyard later. Tyler did mention that if I do not do the entire job they will not honor the price I was quoted, which was totally fine with me. I was able to get the backside of the home graded, so I contacted Palm City Sod and told them we will sod the front and the backyard, in other words, the entire job. So their team came out and were doing a great job, then I was called and informed they did not have enough sod, I contacted Tyler and was confused why all the sod was not ordered. There seemed to be a communication issue between Tyler (the estimate) and the office. I must also state that I was supposed to be called before the work was completed so I could meet them at my house and pay them with a check. I was not available when he texted me, but was willing to take them a check. I was told they needed to leave, when I attempted to pay with a credit card, I was met with a rude attitude and in addition, they wanted to charge an additional 3%. After I had not heard from Tyler when they would be delivering the rest of the sod to finish the job. Tyler said that due to the weather, they had not harvested and wanted to harvest from the same place I had gotten the sod. Again, I understood but was only asking for better communication on their behalf. I was completely shocked to hear that they would have to charge me more per pallet for the additional sod. It was never mentioned to me that the additional sod would cost more per pallet than the original estimate and when I asked, I was met with attitude and disrespect and there began the blame game. He blamed me for ordering the incorrect amount of sod. I replied that I am not the expert and therefore I left it to him when he performed the estimate, to order the correct amount of sod and that I do not believe it is fair to charge me more when they did not bring the correct amount of sod, to begin with. Throughout this interaction, it was a different Tyler than the one I initially met, this person huffed and puffed and was very rude and disrespectful. As a business owner, I believe that the customer should be treated with the utmost respect, even if you do not agree, there is no need to be condescending and disrespectful. For me, I would prefer to take my business elsewhere and pay full price rather than continue to help a business thrive and grow that does not value their customers. BTW- Spent $7,600 here and could have had a customer for life! However, I will never use them again, nor will I refer them to anyone. My experience was rotting falling apart sod (see photos), along with red ants and some grubs in their sod in addition to a very rude office staff from Palm City Sod. I got two orders, the first order was not good and especially one pallet was a pile of rotting disintegrating mush. I sent them photos and videos to prove that. A manager agreed the condition was poor and offered me one free pallet, I excepted and appreciated at least some concession. He also told me not to get any sod for at least two weeks due to the rains. I went by their time table not mine. In two weeks they said everything had dried out and they would ship again. They could not give me a time and I waited 8+ hours all day. They delivered worse sod than the first order. I sent them more videos and photos and complained which was totally ignored by them. I finally got the office staff on the phone about 5 days later and was told to go find another sod provider, I did not understand what Bahia is and I was a problem customer and they literally would not let me speak interrupting me and were yelling at me. They also changed the prices on installation after what I was told by one person, so I just installed it myself. Rotting Bahia does fall apart, healthy Bahia does not and I have installed Bahia 3 times previously with no issues. I did wait on my second until THEY SAID it was dried out, but that was somehow blamed on me that I demanded not to wait. My pallets were also completed twisted slopped together with no organization or consistent cuts making it impossible even when I found a decent piece to remove it without tearing it. I found another sod company that was polite, professional for the same price and their sod had a strong root system, was stacked properly and did not have red ants and grubs and was not a mangled twisted rotting mess. Night and day the difference between the two companies. My personal experience was horrible on many levels especially the bad attitude. read more

We recently built a home with KB Home and they subcontracted the sod work to Palm City Sod. I have NEVER seen such a horrible sod installation. The sod was half dead, literally "thrown" down without any care leaving HUGE gaps between pieces. The sod was full of weeds and we have had to spend over $1,000 so far just trying to keep the yard alive in and moving towards good condition. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy from Palm City Sod. Poor sod, poor work quality, and rude team members who do NOT know how to install sod. read more

Ordered sod one week and had it delivered the next, on time, and with a heads-up phone call from the driver to let me know he was on his way to my home. I ordered sod and it has been down for 3 weeks. I called within 3 days to report areas that didn't look too well. Dry and brown. I was advised to increase watering times and wait 3 weeks. I called back after 3 weeks to only have the same woman talk rudely to me. Did you know buying sod isn't like buying carpet, it's a living thing. What!!!! She didn't even want to talk with me. Got estimate and used for insurance estimate. Scheduled a week in advance. On scheduled start day, no call, no show. Had to call them. Was told they decided it was too wet and would start next day. This is inaccurate information considering it is the wrong company being spoken of.
