The dog park is located in the Avalon Park development off of SR 54 near the main clubhouse. To my surprise it is pretty big and all fenced in with benches in the shade as well as in the sun. It also has a water fountain and has two dog waste stations and poop bags are stocked! The downside was my dog didn't have anyone to socialize with as it was pretty quiet and no one around but he still managed to run around and get in some good exercise playing fetch with me. I will definitely come back with him again on a day like this beautiful day! Hoping next time their will be other dogs for him to play with.

So the dogs have nothing to run run and bark at driving in the street. They have multiple concrete sections with dual water fountains for filling up swimming pools for the puppies in the summer. As soon as you walk in there is a poop bag dispenser trash can and water fountain. There are enough old growth trees to keep you busy counting them the whole time you're here. The only problem is you have to park across the street but it's not that far of a walk although I am sure during the weekdays it can be a little packed. But today is Sunday and there is absolutely no one here in the parking lot was wide open. The Tampa dog park was packed and this one is empty although I think this one is nicer. But if you wonder why the star count is so low all you have to do is read some of the reviews, very few are about the actual Park most of them are about how people felt. Could you imagine Life as a dog if your owner never let you find a tree? Out of the 2000 dog parks we have been to this park definitely would rate above the better half of dog parks line, but that's just my personal opinion hahaha

It's one of the smaller dog parks that I've been to the trees are nice, but your dog or puppy will not be able to run and enjoy themselves as much as they would with a place with less trees in the middle of the park however there are some balls left by other people that your dog may enjoy

My fiance and I walked just under 5 miles and the pavement wasnt overly packed with bikers. Everyone is pretty friendly and share the road. We entered from Bruce B Downs but we have used both entrances. The front entrance is more walker/runner friendly since you aren't immediately at the 7 mile loop.

This park has a playground and a splashpad for kids, a small skateboard/bike area for kids, a dog park pavillions for picnics, restrooms by the play area and dog park and a really nice long walking path around the huge pond. There is also a small stage near the big open field so it would be a good location for concerts. The park is on county land adjacent to a water treatment plant, which supplies the pond with reclaimed water. What a great use of space! I will bet most people wouldn't notice that but I work for another local government so I notice those things. Lots of people were out enjoying the nice weather. People with their kids in the kids area, people with their pets in the pet atea and people like me shopping for plants. They also had some food trucks out and staff/volunteers directing traffic and keeping things nice. Again, great venue for a festival in the heart of Carrollwood Village.

I attended an event at the center in front of the playground. Although it was burning hot, those fans cooled us down. I was so glad the planners rented the space. This meant that on hot summer days we could play without overheating quickly. Recently my visits have been to the softball fields and not to the park. Before Covid shit everything down, they appeared to be in the process of updating it. During the winter and early spring I participate in a softball league that plays at the fields located at the back of this complex. The fields are always well maintained and ready to go when we show up to play. Only once or twice in my four years playing has something happened that caused a delay. The manager of the fields was there and was able to quickly rectify it. The complex also features a skate park, a dog park, and soccer fields. They also have large mixed use fields located under the lights.
