I love this dog park because of the large shaded area and lots of trees. Perfect for a hot sunny summer. Dogs can run without burning their paws on concrete or turf due to all the shade. Located next to waterworks park. We love walking here then heading over to armature works for some food or drinks. The whole area is pet friendly. Offering water bowls and lots of seating to enjoy the scenery of the river nearby. I bring my dog here all the time and she just absolutely loves it.

Shaded area with pavilion

We live within walking distance so parking is never an issue. I love this park because it's so shady which is great for dogs and humans during these hot summer months. The pavilion has lots of shade and seats and majority of the park is shaded from the trees. The only downside is when the area is busy because of parking the park is a little dead. Definitely not as busy as some of the other dog parks in downtown. No separate big and small dog areas which could be a drawback for some people. The artificial ground is pretty standard in the downtown parks and is nice for cleaning up messes.

Power, bonus! Bring the phone charger.

This is a nice, small dog park. It has a little grass, one water fountain, dog waste bags, and plenty of shade and seating for the owners. The dog park consists of one fenced-in area (no separation for small dogs), with a mixture of grass, artificial turf, and rubbery material sometimes used for kids playgrounds. There are a lot of trees, providing shade nearly throughout the dog park. The pavilion has a power outlet, so that is a bonus. At this point, you may be wondering why only three stars. Well, it's small, and there isn't much real grass. Also, the lack of a divider hurt this review. I think it's a necessity. Parking can be a little difficult, too. I don't really understand why they used the rubber on the ground. Overall, it's a nice little park in a nice area, for the dogs to socialize and do a little running.

My dog loves dog parks. He loves to socialize with other dogs. I like this park because it's shady and clean. They use fake grass, so my dog will stay clean! This dog park is kinda small, and big dogs and small dog are in the same area. The dog park is located in the water work park which you can see the river along your walk.

Very harmonious energy, very clean and well-shaded. It's a model for other dog parks to follow.

I've been coming here consistently since July 2023, usually 4 to 6 days a week every single week,…read moreso this place has genuinely been a huge part of my routine and community. My Google review from a year ago gave this place five stars because it truly felt like an amazing space built around dogs, community, and responsible ownership. Looking back at that review now honestly makes the decline even more disappointing, because even just a year ago this place felt completely different in the best way. This place is supposed to be a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs and the people who love them. For many members, our dogs are family, and that's why the recent direction of the business has become genuinely heartbreaking and honestly alarming to watch. A growing number of members are becoming deeply uncomfortable with the decision to repeatedly host large rave-style events at a facility specifically designed for dogs. After previous events, there were already serious concerns about the condition of the property afterward, even after professional cleaning crews had supposedly finished. Members and staff still found debris throughout the space and parking lot and many people are now questioning whether any environment used for late-night parties like this can realistically ever be cleaned well enough to guarantee dogs are safe there afterward. Dogs spend their entire time at this facility with their noses on the ground, sniffing turf, licking surfaces, and putting things in their mouths. That is exactly what dogs do. The idea that dangerous substances, residue, pills, or other hazardous materials could potentially be missed during cleanup is terrifying for pet owners. One mistake could have DEVASTATING consequences for someone's dog. The best comparison I can make is this: imagine if a daycare hosted large rave parties at night and then told parents the next morning that everything had been cleaned and was safe again. Most parents would never feel comfortable with that. That is exactly how many dog owners are starting to feel here. What made this weekend especially upsetting was learning that the business was supposed to reopen after the latest event, only for members to then receive notice that the facility would remain closed due to cleanup issues, with uncertainty about reopening even the next day. That only reinforced concerns that these events are creating problems far beyond a normal private party. At the same time, members continue paying premium annual fees while receiving reduced operating hours, less access, ongoing inventory problems at the bar, and repeated closures tied to outside events. Many people joined because this was marketed as a community-centered space focused on dogs, safety and responsible ownership. Lately, it feels like those priorities are no longer coming first. I know several members who are already questioning whether they will renew their memberships because trust in the safety and direction of the business is starting to disappear.

Nice local park in far south Tampa…read more I came here with my daughter and my dog. We followed the Google map directions, and we ended up parking just about as far away from the dog park as one can park (if you don't want to circumnavigate the lake, enter the Interbay Little League area off MacDill, and follow the signs to the dog run parking lot). There's a well-kept, paved path around the lake, and there are a few benches here and there to rest and look at the water. The path is not shaded, so be forewarned. The dog park is pretty nice. There are three fenced areas: one for small dogs, one for regular dogs, and one that is for more aggressive dogs. We went into the largest area, which had dogs of all sizes, but all the dogs were good natured. My pup loved running around with all the friendly dogs. The area seemed pretty clean (there are dog bag dispensers and trashcans strategically placed around the area, and owners seemed conscientious.) there was a doggie water fountain, which was a nice touch. There were muddy areas, but who doesn't expect to have to bathe your dog after going to the dog park? There were a few picnic tables for the owners to use, and there were some trees for shade.

This is a really nice park with a paved, concrete trail that goes around the lake. The park backs…read moreup into MacDill Air Force Base so it's easy tp find. Along the trail, there are benches to sit, relax, and look at the water. There was an equal balance between shaded areas and being in full sun. There are little workout stations there too and a nice dog park. I saw some interesting wildlife the day that I went. There were a lot of dragonflies just fluttering around. I also saw some pretty, bold squirrels, too. The dogs enjoyed chasing the squirrels up the tree and the squirrels seem to enjoy taunting the dogs. I saw families with little ones, small groups, and individuals walking, jogging, and biking. They stayed a safe distance from one another so that we could all comfortable enjoy the day. This is a great little neighborhood park! I will definitely return.

Our boy ended up getting stitches and has to wait another week to get them out. I know sometimes there are balls and stuff but never had anything like that happen. Dr. Ott has had this park for years and there has never been any incidents that I know of and hopefully won't again. And I'm not sure if the dog park is called Dr Ott's because it's just what the doctor ordered or that was the guy that donated the land? Either way, my hat is off to him. It has an incredible walking path that goes all the way around the interior of the fence line and I'm sure if you walked around it three or four times it would be at least a mile. There are multiple trash cans all over the place as well as poop bag dispensers hidden every here and there you just got to look for one. There are plenty of watering stations as well as big tubs for the dogs to get in and cool themselves off!! There are multiple seating areas around the walk and some of them have a nice structure built over them. There are also tree swings that are actually hung from trees and benches and picnic tables and everything else dispersed every here in there around the park. They even have an American flag on a pole right in the center of the park!! You don't see that very often and you also don't see poop on the ground very often in this park? There is plenty of parking right next to the dog park and there are plenty of old growth trees and bushes and shrubs and everything else for your dog to explore and look through. The only thing it doesn't have other than poop on the ground is some kind of lake or river Creek,, otherwise it would definitely be a 5 plus Star Park

The "deal": What…read moremakes this place different? I admit I haven't visited many dog parks in Tampa except Davis Island-but this one is super convenient and easy to get to, plus its HUGE if you include the rest of Rowlett Park. --------------- All kinds of folks, most taking good care of their pups (picking up after them, watching them, correcting bad behavior). Haven't seen a fight yet. Our usual visit on a weekday morning is decidedly quiet, weekends in the morning pretty quiet as well. Afternoon is when you see more dogs-you also see more mosquitoes (seriously bring bug spray if you happen to come close to sundown). Make sure to bring a towel-your dog will get muddy around the fountain and dirt. Overall this is a nice size park if you want to do some training or just let your dogs sniff around-keep in mind depending on the time of day you may not see many dogs. I also suggest walking the paved trails along the Hillsborough river for a nice little break and some more exercise with your dog (although keep them away from the water), there are gators and they move fast. If you have kids and an extra set of eyes you can have them hang out at the playground (there are several) while someone hangs out with the dog in the dog park or walks the trail. The Atmosphere: Pretty open area, well shaded. About 3 picnic bench tables (2 in shade, close to the water, one in the sun). One water fountain (2 humans, one dog, plus a few bowls left for water). Can get a little muddy around the water. About two bag stations one in the front entrance, another at the end of the park. A few obstacle courses for later and smaller dogs in the small dog park. Tip: Don't forget the bug spray, towel, and extra poop bags if you want to walk the rest of the park.
