Some construction work were on going so it's loud and prolly not the most enjoyable space to sit and chill over your cup of joe. If it's not because of that, the space was actually cool, featuring some artworks around several corners, nice greenery, and some seats for brief chilling moments. The menu went beyond just basic ones and even featured seasonal specials. I got intrigued by the Miso Butterscotch Latte , which I would 1000% recommend, being not overly sweet, letting the bold coffee stood out, and perfected with the creamy caramel-ly butterscotch with a salty savory hint from the miso.

Barista in action. Everything hanging on the wall was nicely placed.

Palm Grove Social is a very interesting cafe. Part cafe. Part art space. And most importantly, it is a place for the local community to gather. In the time we spent there today we saw all of this. Our speciality lattes were very good. We had the lavender and the miso butterscotch. Both very enjoyable. They were completely out of anything pastry related when we arrived so the 5th star will have to wait;) But the feeling of community was by far the most tangible component at Palm Grove and I'm sure that's exactly how it's supposed to be. The space is very open with lots of light. It has a bit of a gallery feel to it but certainly not in a pretentious way. Very comfortable. Nice seating along the wall on the west side. And a nice long table in the center with chairs and benches. The two proprietors were very nice and helpful. I regret that I didn't ask if they do roasting. I had a sense that they do. Well, something else for next time.

Mid city coffee shop gem! The whole vibe of the shop inside and out is very calming, creative and LA coded. The coffee and match options are spot on with what's trending. The service was friendly and professional very your friends work at a coffee shop and your there to hang out. The music was so good a mix of 90s R&B and today's trending neo soul songs. I ordered the passion fruit matcha tonic. 7/10 for me I wish it was more sweeter with a stronger passion fruit taste. I sat outside on the patio and got lost in work for two hours. Weather and vibes were just right on a Saturday afternoon.

Drove by and the vintage vibe and signage got me. Then I saw the A-frame sign and COFFEE so had to pull over. After a quick search, had to go in. Vibe is super cool, nice staff and made me feel like they were happy to see me. Coffee 5 stars Chickpea hand pie 5 stars Decore 5 stars Ambiance 5 stars. Super cool. Will def have my next coffee date here.

One of the best coffee shops in Mid City! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, the coffee is amazing, but my personal favorite is the blueberry matcha. The drinks aren't the only thing that makes me come back, it's the art and the zines. I love walking into the shop and seeing all of the gorgeous photographs and being introduced to new artists! I could go on and on about this shop, but if you're ever in the neighborhood make sure to check this gem out!

Great roast! I had the Americano and it's a hit. My first time here and I'm hyped to come back to try other drinks. They have a cool setup inside. Somewhat limited seating but open space. Service was good. Very brief interaction in the am. Ambiance: A Drinks: A Parking: B- Location: C Service: A

I was thrilled when this coffee shop opened a few years ago. They have a small selection but the staples. The baristas are friendly and they carry a variety of pastries. If you're here for lunch they do carry salads and sandwiches as well. Their patio are is so cute and feels like a little oasis outside of the busy city.

I am so lucky PGS opened nearby. It's part of my Sunday routine to stop in for a cappuccino and a pastry. The beans are independently sourced and the whole milk is with Clover brand leaving the coffee drinks smooth and creamy. I don't know how PGS does it but a drink is still under $5 which is rare nowadays. The pastries are from a local vendor, serving some of the other small coffee shops around here, such as Neighborhood. Everything is delicious, including the croissants (if you go early enough you can get a kimchi spam one), cookies, muffins and donuts. Follow PGS on Instagram. They have pop up events with local vendors, donation based yoga, and more.

Is this business Black or other minority owned?

When you do a deep dive on the internet, this coffeeshop is actually owned by the talent agency, Cast Partners, which has their offices in that building. The agency has five locations globally and multiple employees so definitely not a mom and pop…

If you love that classic old bookstore smell, this place has it in full. Personally it's not my favorite, but definitely worth noting for those who do. The main downsides are parking and crowds. Finding a spot by car can be a challenge, and the store draws a good number of tourists so it can get pretty packed. If you're not a fan of crowds, just keep that in mind before you go.

This new space is absolutely massive and beautifully spread out! Walking inside instantly triggered so much nostalgia for the cute little bookstores and stationary shops I visited when I was in Japan. Everything is so neatly arranged and wrapped. They have an incredible selection of books in both English and Japanese. Seriously, they have everything you can think of: manga, magazines, cookbooks, adorable plushies, stationery, and T-shirts. When we went, they even had some amazing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure artwork on the wall and tons of Pokémon merch. My friend and I stopped by right after the anime convention ended, and the place was packed. Because it gets so busy, they have a strict "no drinks" policy, resulting in a hilariously massive pile of boba and coffees left at the front entrance. The employees seemed overwhelmed & nobody greeted us. My only real critique: Prepare yourself for the price tags. Everything is extremely overpriced. I saw a pretty basic black T-shirt featuring a famous Japanese artist's work going for $60. I get that it's specialty import stuff, but it's definitely an investment! Tip: It's a fantastic place to visit, but if you want to actually browse the Studio Ghibli or anime sections without fighting a crowd, try to come during the week!

As you can tell by the town I'm in, I'm in the Bay Area. Here in the Bay, we don't have a lot of Korean bookstores, and the one I could find here didn't really focus on fiction/fantasy books. I found this place after searching the internet for "Korean bookstores in LA/SoCal." I called and asked the staff if they had Harry Potter. They said they didn't, but they told me that if I found some store back in Korea that had what I was looking for, they told me to email them the link or something and then they would order the books for me. When I pointed out that by that logic, if I could find a book by myself and then pay for the store to mail the books directly to me, customs and all, then I'd just be doing their job.
