Now I really look forward to every lesson and what was scary is now an obsession. My instructors are Jordan and Maximo, but there are no bad choices, all the instructors are great. You can really tell the owner has a passion for dance and loves helping people become confident with themselves and teaching them how to move. They were learning a "So You Think You Can Dance" routine when I visited and everybody looked like they were having a blast. If I wasn't taking down quotes and snapping photos, I definitely would have wanted to get up and learn some dance routines as well. The owner is really involved in the community and regularly works with the blind and visually impaired to offer them dance lessons, in addition to teaching children through the Palm Harbor Public Library. One of the kids was there and showed off her dance moves in front of everyone, it was really cool. One family drove down all the way from the east coast for the week just to have their daughter learn some ballroom dancing. Last year this studio was featured on "So You Think You Can Dance" so I think that is a pretty awesome thing to happen for Tampa Bay and for the owner. If I lived in Palm Harbor, I would definitely check out some classes when I have some down time.

So I went. The class space is located in a strip mall at the corner of Little road and old 54, it is neat and clean with nice flooring and a huge wall of mirrors. They offer a variety of classes from Bellydance to Yoga and now Burlesque. If you're in New Port Richey or the surrounding areas, stop in and check them out. I absolutely love the class. Taliah is phenomenal belly dancer and her classes are always fun to attend. I set out on a journey to learn Salsa exactly 2 years ago…read more My first lesson learned: If you want to learn salsa, you have to go to a salsa school. Don't go to a ballroom dancing studio to learn salsa. It's not real salsa, and they'll pressure you pretty hard to learn ballroom even though you just want to learn salsa. Ballroom studios will try to get hundreds of dollars from you for a couple of weeks of lessons. You should never pay more than $15 for a group class from a salsa school. With groupons, introductory classes are about $8 or less per class. Two months later and $600 burnt, I luckily find Salsa Caliente. Erika and her staff jump start the beginner class by teaching dancing technique. First we learn about "tension" which in my opinion is the most important lesson in Salsa. Tension is the foundation of lead and follow technique. With it, you can lead the follower through a salsa pattern without her knowing the pattern. It also help you conserve energy so you can dance longer. For example, instead of stepping out a turn, you can use the rubber band effect from each other's arms to sling shot you around super fast. Using tension, you can do this turn all day long. If you stepped the turn out, you'd be tired in about 5 turns. Next we learn the NY Salsa standard patterns and shines. I never knew how exceptional their teaching and expertise was until I went to my first Salsa Congress in Orlando last summer. A congress is a dance convention where all the serious and expert dancers gather. With my dance foundation from Salsa Caliente, I was able to learn the advanced partner and shine routines faster than most people in the Congress Workshops, because their routines were built by chaining up Salsa Caliente standard patterns and shines. In one of the workshops with about 40 intermediate/advanced dancers, the instructor asked us to do a "basic" (the standard steps for salsa). He immediately pointed to me and said I was the only one doing it correctly. Why? Because Erika teaches us that we should be moving back and forth with a smooth walking motion, and not a "step step STOP, step step STOP" motion. Is this a gauge of how great Salsa Caliente is? In my opinion it is. Am I a great dancer? No, but I'm probably as good as I can be. Am I good enough to show most girls in my arms a great time while dancing? HECK YEAAAAA !!!!!!! That's why I give Salsa Caliente 5 Stars :-)

This studio focuses on learning things the right way the first time no matter their level of dance and always stressing on their technique. Being a former athlete myself, I'm very impressed with the solid core fundamentals and foundations of dance taught by Kelley. I also like that the classes are limited in size. There is also a variety of programs available to all dancers. My daughter is now part of their competition team and I like that Dance Central offers classes all year round so that she can continue the momentum in her dance education. It's been a great experience for my daughter.

Kelley King is an amazing teacher and does a great job of getting her dancers to push outside their comfort zone and try new things. My daughters have so much more confidence as dancers after eight weeks of camp. My girls love it at Dance Central, they came home from their first day of camp saying that they wanted continue their dance instruction at DC when they start back in the fall. I am a firm believer that we are put in the right place at the right time, I have found a wonderful new studio for my daughters to continue their dance education. I tried another reformer competitor before coming here and there is no comparison. You can really feel their presence and passion for teaching at The Pilates Haus. Everyone is always so chill and welcoming, constantly walking around the room, helping correct our form. I am a working mom with limited time to workout- this is a great option to add on to my typical routine. Their intermediate class is challenging but doable and is a true full body workout every time. Follow them on social too in case they drop any special promos.
