The 16 of us played here this past Monday. We were on a golf getaway from the Bay Area. The golf course is situated at the Del Webb development. As such the residents have priority over us non residents. Our tee times were pushed back. Pros: * well groomed course * GPS * not too many hazards. Cons: * slow play. At the completion the marshal drove up and showed us on his smart phone there were 80 golf carts on the course all denoted in red all bunched up. * there was ice in the cooler but no bottled water provided. I've been coming to Palm Valley Golf Course in Sun City for a few years now, and it never disappoints. The service is consistently great, and that's a big reason I keep coming back. Jennifer at the bar is always amazing, Shane and Joe in the pro shop are always super helpful, and honestly everyone around the course is welcoming and professional. The views are beautiful and the course is very well kept. You can tell they take pride in maintaining it. I also noticed the new patio furniture, which looks really nice, and the new carts are a great upgrade too. Today we grabbed a bite to eat and Debra was our server, she was so sweet and attentive. The burger was really good, and of course Jennifer made us the most delicious spicy margaritas. I genuinely love coming here. It's always a great experience from start to finish. read more

I recently took up golfing with a few buddies. I didn't know how much I was going to enjoy the sports. Beating the heats we come here at six in the morning. Everything is amazing here. The grass has kept up. There is no trash on the greens. I usually grab a bucket of balls to hit on the driving range. And one cool thing about this place is when everybody else leaves, the guy comes around and asks if I want the extra balls. Sometimes I take them, sometimes I don't, it depends on how much time I have before work. But I really enjoy how nice everybody is. They have a golf store here and also a tavern next door. read more

Great course it was in pretty good condition. The layout is good and play moved pretty well without any backups.

Palm Valley Golf Course is the longer, more open of the two courses in Sun City Summerlin. Over the past few years, the course has been in much better shape than Highland Falls Golf Course. Since the course is more open with few water holes, the speed of play is much faster than Highland Falls as well. Some elevation gain and a few narrow greens still make this course a good test. read more

March 20, 2021. This course is in horrible shape. Reminds me of the driving range from the movie Tin Cup. We had a group of 16 of us that comes to town every year for the past 15 years and this is hands down the worst conditions we've seen any course. On top of the absolute horseshit conditions, they had zero drink service on the course. What. The. F. The clubhouse/restaurant was very good food and drinks. read more

Palm Valley did a fantastic job! From the pro shop staff to the starter, they were beyond friendly and welcoming. Teamed up with a couple of regulars who were also a pleasure. Greens were nice and fast, Bermuda was still dormant but more than playable. read more

I keep giving Palm valley the benefit of doubt but I'm sorry to say this will be the last time my son and I will ever play this course. I decided to go get in 9 holes after getting off early. Walking on was fine. Joe behind the counter always a nice guy. But they are charging 40 dollars after 1 pm for 9 holes. This course is not in any shape to be charging anywhere near that price and as much as the members want to take it out on everyone else or whoever's bright idea it was to raise the rates your going to feel the burn. I can promise you this place will be begging for golfers sooner then later. All fairways I expect to be somewhat dormant this time of year but palm valley is like this year round. You can play Paiute for the same price and any 3 of those courses are worth every penny and in 10 times better shape. I have to almost beg my fellow golfers to play Palm Valley because I like the layout but I'm afraid I can no longer defend this place. I take my 6 yr old here also and I have never completed about the price. I wish the best of luck to those that work there because behind that counter your going to hear an ear full and it's not your fault. I do know the consistency's of what people charge there depends on who's working and I can guarantee that's also going to be a problem. Someone is going to turn you in to the BBB for discrimination. Love this course, wide fairways, very green even in July and greens are in great shape. I do wish I would have been told the first 9 were closed before going m, caused issues as people were playing 18 and others trying to start. Got really backed up. I am a very long driver and usually don't get to pull out my ling clubs but I did with this course with the longer holes I was able to use all my clubs. read more

I called ahead because normally the fairways at Palm Valley are total hard pan. Basically for years the fairways suck. Pro shop assured me they were in the best shape ever. Played today and course absolutely sucked!!! Don't waste your time or money playing there. Staff sucks, course sucks, bar sucks. Try Angel Park, or Rhodes Ranch....great shape read more

Great course condition is really nice greens are smooth. Great Desert view of mountains fun course a little on the short side but still a good challenge. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Would recommend to play here for anybody in the LV area. read more

Great staff. Pace of the game was very manageable. The rangers spread start times so we had 10 minutes or so between groups. They did not try to force us into a group of 4. Greens well maintained and they have an abundance of healthy wild life. Will go again read more

For the price, this is one of the top courses in Vegas. And, the lack of publicity keeps the out of towners that only play once in a blue moon away from this course. That's all fine by me as the retired guys really move on the course. The staff is very friendly and helpful From the starter to the restaurant workers, its all about customer service with a smile. The course is not exceptionally manicured like the Cascata or Wynn, but they get the job done. The desert scape helps with water problem, but the fairways, tee boxes and greens are in good shape. The holes are very scenic as they meander through the Summerlin neighborhood which can blossom into some fantastic picturesque views of the Vegas valley, including the strip. The course is challenging. Especially on a long uphill par four with a stiff breeze in your face. Plenty of risk reward shots also. The finishing hole is a drivable par four that is guarded by the lake on the right side. When you play, be a bit open minded and think about how much you're playing before shanking a shot off of the fairway and complaining about the horrible lie you put your self in. If you're still dissatisfied, go play Wynn for $500. read more

Haven't picked up my clubs up in a minute so its good to know my short irons are still swinging consistently. My putting game well after I adjusted to the hard sandy fast greens here my puts started to roll closer to the cup. A few actually realized I was intending for them to roll into the cup so they did. Being from the Midwest I'm not accustom to such an open layout type of course. As most courses go and as limited as my skills are I'm sure this course would challenge me but today I only had time for the driving range. However the fairways look very straight forward not to many twists or turns on this course. Now the parking structure is a little challenging I had to park quite a distance from the clubhouse however I do recognize that this is a golf community which means a lot of people own there own golf carts. From the gawdy display of a Ohio State tricked out cart...hurts the eyes of a Michigan fan to even look at it...oh that's right I am now a Las Vegan so go Rebels! Ok this place nothing special just an average course. read more

This course suffers from the same issues that plague its sister course Highland Falls and that is why it is hard to give this course higher than 3 stars. The fairways and greens are kept in decent to great shape but the "rough" is nothing more than dead grass that is very difficult to hit out of. Make sure you ask the restaurant for a cooler(why do you need to do this?!?!) and a few cups of water so that you don't die out on the course with the shocking lack of a cart girl. The course itself suffers from a lack of Vegas views that make Highland Falls more enjoyable and entertaining. I'm not the best golfer but I found the course to be a bit plain and unimaginative. Luckily the price is bearable especially if they are running a promotion. read more

What a fun course, and the golf pro staff is super friendly gave me free bucket of range balls before we headed out. We came in for a quick 18 from Wisconsin and were very impressed with the course. The only downside is the community reminded me of the golden girls television show as I don't think anyone over the age of 50 lives here. read more

The course was very dry and hard - no green grass to be found on fairways or rough. Tee boxes ok and greens very hard. Sand was missing from the bunkers. No beverage service on the course and no water. Have played the course in past years and was great. This was a real disappointment and was charged full price!!!!! Won't be back. read more

So I posted a bad review on Palm Valley before for various reasons, I have to share the latest encounter with this place. Due to the Corona virus courses closed I understand. My son is 4 yrs old I take him to the range often. So he's been in the house we have been following protocol ( no large crowds groups larger then 10) so I said son let's get some air. I throw mine and his clubs in the truck and head over to Palm valley it's opened for people to walk they're dogs and get out of the house so I figured no one would mind if I worked with him and his swing. I put him on the mats out of respect. He was swinging away. And two carts roll up and tell us we have to leave. HOW STUPID IS THAT? I live a ricks throw from there. We are neighbors I wasn't playing the course I was using my own balls but they felt the need to kick a dad and his kid off for simply hitting balls. I don't understand how that is a bad thing. Something to do to get some fresh air but this no empathy thing leaves me angry. You can drive your carts all over and around all the courses you can walk your dogs all over the courses. My mother Inlaw is a resident but this leaves me to think just how moronic people can be. Screw Palm Valley and the people who sit on they're high horse kicking kids off the range I am a true golfer, my three sons are true golfers and in the golf world you encourage the sport to our younger generation. A great bonding experience for father and son. I hope your happy putting idiots in charge whoever you are you truly make me sick. read more

Good test for any golfer. Water, sand, hard greens that don't hold the ball well. You get two bottles of water in your cooler. On a hot day, bring your own. The rough is hard to hit out of, so stay in the fairway. All in all, a good course. read more

This course is a great value for locals. It has a challenging layout and great views. It is located in somewhat of a condo canyon, but none of the holes feel cramped. I play it about once every two weeks and the pro shop staff is helpful and pleasant. It is not as unique as some of the high-end courses in Vegas, but for the good deals that you can get, I'm not gonna complain. read more

I really enjoyed playing this.very scenic course with spectacular mountain mountain views. It has to be one of the best golfing communities in the country as it is setup in an outstanding masterplan community with 3 golf courses and many of the locals drive around on their own golf cart. read more

I live here in Sun City and brought some friends in from out of town to play some golf. On Sunday we decided to go play the Palm Valley course in my community. Everything was Ok , clubhouse warm and friendly the Grille excellent one of my favorite places to hang out since I moved here. So this course I was expecting the same goodness. Sorry not going to happen. First there was no starter. Ok can live with that. But got to the first tee and it was like hitting off of a parking lot in March in Philly. When you bring people to play in Vegas and pay 51 dollars to play in YOUR OWN community I expect the fairways to be more like a carpet than a runway. I understand that the front nine was renovated last year and it takes sometime to mature, but then lets us know before taking the money. It cost me 150 dollars to play a Philly course. The Staff were wonderful, waitresses and bartenders the BEST . Just the condition of the course should of been explained. That's it . read more

If you do play, ask if a tournament is going on. Front nine was 2:50 and we had to replay the front nine again as the tournament was on a 6 plus hour pace. Worse was the staff knew the pace of play and still gladly took our money. Watched a beautiful sunset as we were finishing up. On the positive side, the course is in nice shape and is suited for mid-handicappers and woman as the tee boxes are appropriately spaced. read more
