When I texted him today (2 days after he said he would send the contract and didn't) he said he could no longer do the work because I didn't get back to him (?) and send him the money he needed for the cabinet he was picking up. He never told me an amount to send, how to send it or that he was even waiting on me!! I had narrowed the job down to this person because he seemed professional when he came to see what needed to be done. But today he texts me he has "taken another job" and can no longer help me. I would have really appreciated a phone call and for him to be honest and tell me that he thought the job was too small, which is obviously what the problem was. It is so frustrating to trust someone and get excited about work that's going to be done just to have them blame you then quit. He wanted half of the money upfront and I'm so glad I didn't give him a penny. Super disappointing and now I'm back to square one trying to find someone to do the job.
