This place is jaw-droppingly beautiful. My parents recently moved to Sarasota and my orchid-obsessed mom had been raving about an orchid nursery she found nearby. I finally got a chance to visit it, and it definitely delivered. We were supposed to be shopping for a Christmas present orchid for my mom, but I just wandered off by myself admiring the incredible diversity of orchids available. I could spend the entire day here, or at least until the smells of the fertilizer they use starts getting to me. There are also so many educational resources to teach you about the orchids and how to care for them. Very luckily they ship! This is a very dangerous place to have a credit card because I wanted to take home so many varieties. This is a beautiful place. If you are in the area, make it a point to stop in! read more

I'm not really a big of a fan of plants, but I still found the beauty and variety here impressive and easily enjoyed an hour + wandering around with my wife and parents. If you like orchids... or gardens, or plants, ... this really is a must stop place. My parents actually prefer coming to Palmer Orchids over going to some of the (for fee) gardens in the area. Take your kids - or your parents (which are often much like kids) - and make teh trip and enjoy a bit of relaxed, natrual beauty. read more

Learned they packed my orchid with so much moss its roots rotted over the course of 2 or 3 months. Asked for any type of orchid to replace it. 1 million orchids in inventory and they would not give me one single orchid to replace it & told me I had definitely caused the rotting and should've known better. As if it would rot immediately, so I would've seen to take it back. But time went by and they basically shrugged and said nope. But they admitted to packing the orchid wrong because that was part of its display. They gave me no warning at checkout that they had packed it in a way that it would rot if I didn't repot it. Terrible customer service, bad attitude. So they said that orchid would probably recover. But of course, after another month, it died because the damage was done. Had to throw it away. We spent north of a couple hundred dollars on orchids that day, now we will never, ever be back. This place is the very definition of an arrogant business owner, who blames the customer and does not accept responsibility. Not everyone who buys an orchid is an orchid expert, and could see that they had packed it in a way that it would rot. read more

The orchids I ordered were shipped quickly and packaged well. They arrived healthy and began sending up blooming spikes a few months later which lasted months. I would order from Palmer Orchids again. read more

My partner and I were heading to Sarasota for a day trip and stopped here and were so happy we did. They were having a big sale so we bought so many new orchids. If you are an orchid enthusiast and live anywhere close, you need to make the trip. I drove from Tampa, and will definitely make the trek again. I love Vandas, and they have an enormous greenhouse for just Vandas with literally over a thousand plants hanging in rows and rows. I was in Vanda Euphoria! I actually purchased online for pick up, and only had time to wander around this one of many greenhouses due to the impending Storm Elsa, but will browse more leisurely next time. The Vandas were super healthy, and their prices are more reasonable than other Orchid growers I have been to, so hello, my new Orchid vendor! read more

If I can give a zero star, I would . I have been a regular customer at Palmer's Orchids for 3 years . Every time I go there, I spend lots of money there. Because I like Orchids. The owner Ashley very mean and unprofessional. She tells me " I am not working with the customers today ! This isn't the first time she said to me, Back in April 1st, when I tried to asked her about what fertilizer to used? She said " I can't help you! I get someone , but no one was able to help,. But today, her nursery isn't busy at all.... Today will be my last time . I will spend my money at others nursery that treats eith respect, and let the customers comes first!! read more

I stumbled upon the Palmer Orchid site when I was looking for orchids that were not the 'garden variety' you find at the grocery store. They have so many beautiful orchids I had a difficult time choosing just 3. I picked my 3 and proceeded to check out. Was almost put off because the only option was PayPal and I had to set up an account. The package arrived in great time and was excited to get it opened. I found 3 Gorgeous orchids and 2 were in bloom! I understood the large size of the box when I unwrapped the last 1. It is absolutely huge! The quality of all 3 is so much more than I expected and the packaging of them was excellent! I am excited to see what the third one looks like when it blooms. I now have to search for a bigger orchid display table so I can order more. Although there are so many I want it will be hard to choose just a few. lol read more

I was looking for a specific plant, and Palmer Orchids had it listed on their website, but the page did not have the option to add the plant to my shopping cart. I thought perhaps it was sold out, but I thought I would email and ask them anyway, in case maybe they still had one left. They were very prompt to inform me that they did in fact have a couple left. They added the listing back to the website specifically so that I could order the plant. They were very polite in their communication, and I really appreciate that they went to the trouble to help me out with finding this plant. The plant is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so I cannot yet comment on the condition of the plant, but in the pictures they sent me of the plant, it looks like it is excellent condition. tomorrow when the plant arrives, I will update this review, however I feel certain that I will be incredibly pleased with the plant and the condition it is in. I am very impressed that they took time out of their busy schedule to list that plant so that I could buy it, and I am very impressed by how polite and accommodating they were. This is the kind of orchid nursery I want to shop from, and I am sure I will buy from them in the future. EDIT: The plant arrivedin excellent condition, and I am very pleased with it. read more
