I have an obligation to write this review, Last week my friend dog got sick and she took him to Palmetto Animal Clinic for a checkup. The puppy was diagnosed with severe pneumonia the puppy was only 3-month-old, and he was very weak, The only way for him to survive was with constant oxygen and a course of antibiotics. At that moment, I moved heaven and earth to get an oxygen machine, but it was impossible to find one. However, the clinic offered to lend them the oxygen machine without charging a dollar. I want to thank this clinic for their great action. This shows that they are human first and that they truly care about the lives of our pets. I am very grateful. Thank you guys you guys are amazing thank you again for helping my friend puppy he passed away but we did everything to save him, but we couldn't. read more

A few weeks ago, a lost dog happened upon my yard with no tag. I brought her to Palmetto Animal Clinic and the awesome ladies in reception were so friendly and helpful. They scanned the dog for a chip, which she luckily had, and they helped me get in touch with the owner to reunite them. I really liked the vibe in there, so I made a mental note to try them out next time I needed a vet, which I knew would be soon because I have a mini zoo of animals at home. Not long after, one of the stray cats that I care for was having issues with a limp tail, so I brought him to be seen at Palmetto Animal Clinic. Dr. Oliver examined him and determined that he needs to see a specialist instead because his issue is likely a neurological one. I appreciated his candor and was shocked when he told me that he wasn't even going to charge me for the visit. He waived the exam fee and gave me a referral for the specialist. I recently moved to this area and while this was my first official visit to Palmetto Animal Clinic, it certainly won't be my last. For a vet to waive the fee he was owed for an exam he conducted tells me that this guy cares just as much about the animals he treats than the profits they generate. He has definitely earned himself a new lifelong client in me. I won't be taking my furbabies to anybody else from now on. read more

Well this establishment will do exactly that rip you off. $900 later I still had to take my dog to another vet spend MORE money because when I called them back to see what I could do to help the vet never responded, then when I called back LIED by claiming gave me a call and left me a voicemail. The doctor said he wasn't going to see me because that's last time they see people for walk-ins. They don't care about your pets they only care to get home on time because they close at 5PM. I just took my dog to see the doctor because she has blood in the stool. I got there 5:04 and they closed at 5:00pm--- they used to close later but I didn't know the times had change and I drove from doral to Hialeah, rush hour traffic to bring my dog to get checked. I went to the exit door and another patient owner saw me and told her. she came out and said they closed at 5:00 I told her u saw that I got there only 4 minutes after and she said she couldn't let me in. I told her my dog was bleeding and she said im sorry no way you can come in. I told her to ask the doctor, she said he would say no. We've taken all our dogs there for years since before Dr. Oliver. My mother took her 14 yr old dog a shitzu named Choy who was vomiting for 2 days. We weren't sure if he was going to get better since he is old, but you love them and they are family so my mother made the sacrifice to try and bring him back to health and so far he is getting better. Visited today, my poor yorkie looked literally dead. My poor baby kept throwing up, and I was pretty concern about his health. Chico was in pretty bad shape. I got there at 8:45 am, and Dr. Perez arrived promptly at 9am. She quickly entered me in the room, and rendered medical attention to my yorkie. The doctor gave him a shot because it's sugar was very low, and that woke him up, she did some blood work, to make sure all his organs were working properly. My baby was doing better and all of sudden he was feeling lethargic and I immediately told the vet tech to please call the doctor. She did another sugar check, and it was low. Dr. Perez immediately administered an IV drop, and gave Chico a shot of glucose. The doctor' s office was getting congested with other clients , but the doctor and vet techs continued checking on my baby, I really appreciated the concern and care that was provided. Unfortunately, my poor baby has to stay overnight, for observation, to make sure his health is improving. The clinic has very reasonable prices compared to other clinics that are closer to my home, I don't mind driving to Hialeah to get the help needed for my yorkie. Forgot to mention it's first come first served. The clinic provides walk-ins, which is a plus, there are open from 9-7 on Monday thru Thursday and 9-2 on Fridays and Saturdays. The rooms are very clean and spacious. They are always running specials for their annual check-ups. read more

Dr. Oliver and entire staff was very professional. They were honest and communicated the possibilities of what my 5 pound furr baby could have. All from simple to the complex. They could have charged me twice for putting my baby to sleep to do RX's due to a mass she had in her jaw but they said it would be detrimental to put a small dog under anesthesia twice. The Dr. explained the best option and I appreciate that's. The mass was an access under a molar and with molar removal and antibiotics all was good in a few hours. I had consulted with another vet (via FaceTime) whom I trust with my own life but unfortunately was 700 miles away from my location and his explanation was the exact same as Dr. Oliver's. He gave me the only 3 possibilities complex (cancer) to simple (tooth access and infection). He explained what needed to be done to come up with final diagnostic and it was exactly what Dr. Oliver explained. This might not seem relevant but Dr. Oliver was dealing that same day with an accident in his clinic (someone had driven through one of the office doors and front of the clinic was severely damaged). This was a very stressful day and despite all the commotion, Dr. Oliver and staff did not lose its calm and professionalism. By the way, Jorge one of the staff members was also very professional and made me feel at ease with his experience and the way he handled my furr baby. I took my dog here to be treated for an ear infection. The minute the vet walked in he listed 5 things wrong with her that needed to be treated WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING HER. Eyes, thyroid, etc.. when I was finally given the opportunity to let him know about her ear, he simply flipped it her ear and told me she needed SURGERY. Ridiculous! He then walked out to give me an estimate and left me standing alone there on the room for 30 minutes! I walked out. I ended up taking my dog to Mueller's where they ran all the tests that the Palmetto vet mentioned and results were that she's totally healthy! They gave me some drops for her ear and it did the trick! Palmetto really tried to scam me. I'm so appalled by them and I will NEVER be coming back and I will warn others not to either. I used to love this place and highly recommended it to anyone who needed a good vet but I went today and they have totally destroyed that image I had of them. I called earlier today and explained that I have a big dog (over 100lb) that doesn't get along well with other dogs. I asked if it is ok if I would wait outside and I was told yes and they would come out to let me know when my turn was up. Since I was outside my daughter went in various times to check if our turn was up and she was told there was one ahead of us. Well after waiting two hours I noticed the people who arrived after us were leaving I went to check and the door was locked. I saw a lady try to open the door when I knocked but they told her not to. After knocking over and over the vet came out and I asked him if they forgot about us. They told me it was my responsibility to make sure I didn't miss my turn and put the blame on me. To make matters worse the girls in the front gave me nasty looks and argued that I was responsible, not them, to make sure I didn't miss my turn. They just didn't care and I when I told them we take all out pets there and felt they treated us poorly and I just got more nasty looks from the girls and the vet said oh well. I will never go back to this place again. They least they could have done was apologize it happened. read more

I just want to start off by saying that the doctors and staff at this clinic are the best. They are always helpful and really go above and beyond to help you and your pets. I have been bringing both of my families dogs here for years. One of them is diabetic and requires a lot of attention, including his insulin and the type of food that he eats. The doctors and the staff are always extremely helpful in making sure that they have his food and insulin in stock. The reason why I give them 5 stars is because they really care about the animals and always do the best they can to help the families and the animals they are treating. One time, I found a stray kitten in my neighborhood and I noticed he wasn't breathing correctly. I took it to the Palmetto Animal Clinic and they were nice enough to check it and see what the kitty needed to help it recover the best that they could. I didn't pay a penny. Then another owner took over and kicked Dr. Peréz out, and now Dr. Oliver, the new main vet, refuses my business and refuses to see my pets without telling me why. Obviously, for me, the level of care from this location has gone from very high to non-existent. I cannot give a favorable review to a vet who stubbornly refuses to see me or treat my pets. 10/10! The ladies at the front desk were SOOO sweet. I took my dog there to get an X-ray for a count of babies she was having. are. Oliver came in and talked to me for a little checked out bubbles and told me she has a little rash in her ear. He then explained what we were going to do today and I agreed. The nurse then took me into an office and pulled up everything we were doing on a computer screen going over ALL COSTS before they even touched bubbles. That was my biggest thing. The last vet I went to I was told it would be 21$ and they tried to scam me 400$ and gave medicine to my dog before I even said anything.....DR. Oliver....COMPLETE OPPOSITE!!! once we agreed with everything they took bubbles back and in 10 minutes they clipped her nails,did her ears and the X-rays. They them took us back and showed us the X-rays and explained what he say. He then emailed the X-rays to my phone right there.....then I went back up and the girls in the front helped me check out! Have only had a couple appointments (one being able to get in the same day) but the staff & drs run appointments on time. Dr McClain is awesome, can tell he enjoys it. The worst animal clinic I have ever been to. The staff are a bunch of young girls with nasty attitude problems. Cindy is the absolutely the worst of them all. The act like they are doing you a favor. I was trying to pay and in the middle of it, one of them took a phone call to talk about her car repairs on the phone. So I am standing there waiting trying to leave and she is just going on and on talking to her mom about her car repairs. Then, they wrote the WRONG prescription on my dogs meds. Cindy got loud with me on the phone when I tried to explain to her that it is SIMPLE MATH...If I have to give my dog 2ml a day and the bottle says there is only 15ml in the bottle...them it would only 1 week's worth of medication. She got all loud and said flippantly "Oh well, then give to her for a week." WTH, what do you mean?? The prescription says 10 days....what do you mean "just" give it to her for a week? When did she get her vet degree?? She copped an attitude and I had to remind her to lose it because if it wasn't for customers like myself that pay, she would not have a salary and there would be no hospital cause she was not doing me any favors. I asked to speak to the Dr and of course, he "was not available" . I left my cell phone number for him to call me to talk about my dog and her attitude and I have yet to get a call. I will never go back again. BTW, the physical is low priced, yes...but buyer beware they will get you with an estimate that is truly outrageous. The whole experience was just awful.
