Very bad customer service and spent care once he has the money. Garbage place and second rate.

You keep referring to speaking to the homeowner which you didn't. You spoke with my daughter and communicated that way. I NEVER gave you permission to put that concrete in the road. I know better than that. This Business should not even be allowed to advertise or be in Business. This Business also goes by Built Different Construction. He broke his own contract the first day. He was supposed to be there at 8 am and showed up at 8pm. He was arrested the night before. He calls himself a contractor but let me say he started my driveway without a license and without a permit. City of Buffalo inspections put a STOP WORK ORDER in my house because of Jo permit or license. He has left my driveway a mess and winter is here. He took out the step to come into our house and put in make cheap steps that are coming apart. Yes he took $8000.00 from us. He has not been back in over a week and has not contacted us. I am posting pictures of what he left us with. I would posts some of the text messages but he wouldn't communicate with me he would only communicate with my daughter.

I used him naively thinking I could get a good deal using someone who is more of a criminal than a handyman, and now I know why he gave the "great deal". He had no idea what he was doing. My floors were scratched, but original wood, and pretty, and he sanded them unevenly, missing other parts completely, and then slopped so many layers of varnish on, that eventually when those weren't drying correctly, for which he always had a great reason (it's just DUST you're seeing in those photos! don't worry! Tomorrow it will look different" and of course, they never did), so they came out looking like a second grader painted them. He refused to take responsibility, kept trying to say he was "planning to go back and fix them!" but he'd already tried to fix them 3 times and each time they got worse, and worse... And finally, publicly fabricated a story that someone "came into my house and tampered with the floors" as a way to save face. I have notorized statements from my realtor that the only person with any access to the house was Zak and himself and video footage from the house across the street that no one entered other than my realtor to take pictures, the ones enclosed, other than Zak. The man is dishonest, totally unaccountable, and psychologically unstable. He should not be allowed to interact with the public, period, let alone touch their property. Buyer beware: this man is a hack, a liar, and a thief. Absolutely nightmarish experience dealing with him, from start to finish.

STAY AWAY. There is a reason this one-person "company" does not have any reviews, or the only one…read morepositive review they have is actually from Remy ('owner') himself. I initially reached out to this option as 1 of 3 others on Yelp and he responded immediately. I was initially impressed by the quickness and response time and the 1st communication we had was good. That was the only positive. So I thought I would give this smaller business an opportunity over others. After he either forgot or missed the 1st three appointments we had verbally agreed to in order to discuss the project, things got even worse. Ultimately, we agreed to a price to which I provided 1/2 of the amount up front. That was the only time he showed to the worksite to collect money. We had also then agreed to a basic schedule to start and then after a few weeks of repeated delays and inquiries to him due to multiple failures for never showing up when he committed to, his communications stopped entirely. He was obviously not going to complete my project as we agreed. There were also no responses (to this day) after my last three inquiries asking for my money back. I do say Yelp team has been very helpful throughout all of this and their support is great. As far as Evolution Contracting - learn from my dumb mistake and steer clear from them unless you like giving away money to scam. Please know I am forced to give a minimum of 1 Star rating for this review to post it, but know my true rating is far less than that.

7 weeks for 4 steps--poor communication and failed inspections…read moreDo I have steps? Yes. That is the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. We hired this company to remove our old, broken concrete front steps and pour new ones. While the initial communication was great, it became incredibly un-dependable and hard to come by as the job progressed. Ultimately, it took 7 weeks to complete a 4-step project due to poor craftsmanship and multiple delays. The issues began when the initial pour completely failed inspection. The step measurements were wildly inconsistent--the top step had a 4-inch rise, while the others varied from 7.5 to 8.5 inches from step to step, and it sloped from left to right. When I brought this up, the contractor was defensive, insisting that everything they poured was "up to code" and there was nothing wrong with them. However, they later admitted the mold had been stepped on by the crew. After several communication gaps, missed timelines, and a partial refund discussion, the city inspector officially failed the steps on May 4th, stating they required a complete tear-out and replace due to the safety and rise inconsistencies. The second round of demolition and pouring took another three weeks. Throughout this entire process, I was never notified in advance when plans changed or when the crew would show up. I had to actively chase the contractor for updates just to find out when people would be at my house. While the second set of steps finally passed inspection, they still have visible flaws. If you are looking for clear communication, reliable timelines, and a job done right the first time, I would look elsewhere.
