However, I learned today pricing is based on if they've had a previous relationship, etc. I was charged $65 to my 11 pound Maltipoo. I made my appointment the week before, and I was asked to come in at 9:30am. I am pretty disappointed with my dog's groom. She came out with patchy fur and was highly stressed. She was there from 9am until 3pm... in a kennel for hours for "her turn." I understand some groom take longer than others, but I keep her fur short and I brush her head, face and tail daily. I really wanted to like this place due to the fact that the cost for grooming is low priced and the owner is super friendly. The problem is I question the sanitary practices of the business. My two dogs have gone to Palms twice for grooming. One of my dogs came back with a small cut on the shoulder blade that I figured he was moving around during grooming and that was an accidental slip of the razor. No problem, accidents happen. However the second time taking them, my other dog got a cut on his back. I didn't realize then, that the cut was infected with ringworm because he has long hair and I couldn't see it until his hair started falling out in the area. My dogs are inside dogs and don't go outside for walks, so the only two places they go are the groomers and the vet. It was pretty easy to pinpoint where they got this infection from and it was probably due to unsanitary grooming tools and the kennels they keep them in while waiting for pickup. So unfortunately after coming out hundreds of dollars to treat the infection, I won't be returning to Palms. I advise other pet parents to be very cautious and also inspect your dog thoroughly when you pick them up, especially if you paid for a haircut. To the staff at Palms: Please sanitize your equipment and have more patience when grooming wiggly/nervous dogs. I never experienced this at my groomer prior and although they raised their prices, I'll be returning back to them. Such a costly and avoidable mistake. Lesson learned. read more

This place is the cheapest grooming place for dogs I could find in the area, but you will (probably) be getting what you pay for. I was happy with my dog's haircut the first time I went but was disappointed the following two times. My last experience - I dropped off my dog at 9:00am and asked them around what time he would be done and available for pickup. The person did not give me a straight answer and I accepted it assuming it would be 3-4 hours. I called at 2pm, not done, then called at 4:30pm, not done. I ended up picking my dog up 6:30pm and he used the bathroom immediately when we got out because he had not gone during his time there - even though I asked the groomers to take him out, over the phone. Their excuse for the grooming taking so long was that one of the groomers called out that day. I would rather pick my dog up and schedule for another day then have him locked in a cage the entire day without food and use of the bathroom. I was pretty angry with this experience and won't be going back. Moral of the story: When you ask how long the grooming will take, GET AN ESTIMATE TIME FRAME, don't settle for anything vague. read more

I have only ever taken my dog in for a nail clipping here, but they always let me come in the same day I call, which is great! My dog is SUPER anxious. Like, on Prozac and in behavioral therapy anxious. She is extremely fearful of people, especially new people. So when I took her in to get her nails cut, I was nervous about how it would go, but it was great! Because of my dog's issues, my fiance holds her while the woman at the salon clips her nails. The woman (I wish I knew her name!) is so calm and patient with my dog, especially because my dog always spends the entire session trying to wriggle away and escape. Getting her nails cut is one of my dog's main fears, so she certainly doesn't enjoy herself here, but the fact that the groomer is even able to get it done without my dog being traumatized for days is a HUGE win! I've also seen other, more normal dogs getting groomed in the back, and they all look calm and happy. Oh, and the prices cannot be beat! $10 for a nail trim. read more

I have been taking my dogs here for several years. The prices are great, although they went up recently. The service is friendly. Your dog may be there most of the day, so if being in a kennel is a no-no for your dog, then this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, the groomers are very gentle with the dogs and take their time, so your dog will not receive a rushed service, something which can be stressful for a dog. I also like that there is parking where I can safely take my dog to and from the salon. The only thing that bothers me is that my dogs seemed extremely thirsty when they got home, although this has not happened the last few times since I made it a point to insist they get water. I also see a ton of clean bowls behind the door to the kennel, so it seems that they do intend on giving the dogs water. Otherwise, I take them out to fully use the bathroom before heading over to the salon, and they are ready to go again as soon as I pick them, so the bathroom issue I see being mentioned is right on schedule if your dog is used to going out every six hours like mine are. Think twice before taking your dog here. I've taken my dog here twice, both times they hurt my dog. He has cut marks with dried blood on his body and they trimmed his nails too short. I thought the first time was because he was a puppy and it was his first time at the groomers so he may have moved around a lot. But that was not the case. This is the second and last time I will use this Salon. The first time my cocker spaniel came back to me frightened and upset. For a week, he could not sit properly and was continually licking the area around the tail that appeared to be cut too close to the skin. I asked Faud if he had a problem with my dog and he said no. The second time I took him the day before Thanksgiving. Faud told me he was busy and if I brought him back on Saturday when he opened, he would be the first to be groomed. Took him as requested. Three hours later, my dog was still uncut and sitting in a cage. Three hours in a cage with no food, no water. I immediately came to pick up my dog.. If I had left him, he would have been at groomers for 6-8 hours. Faud had no excuse. Will not return. read more

Palms Grooming lost my business. I was turned away today when I brought my cat in for a nail clipping. This would have been our 3rd visit but I was told that my cat was "very upset" (referring to my last visit) and that he didn't want to clip her. He probably doesn't remember but during our last visit he cut the quick on two of my cat's nails which caused her to nip at him (I probably would have done the same). I just think it was unprofessional and silly of them to turn a loyal customer away because of a previously negative experience that they themselves caused. This place needs two things (at least). 1. A mask for cats so they are less nervous and can't nip at the technician while getting nails clipped. 2. Another technician so that I don't have to hold my own cat still while they clip. 3. A bell. I always waited at least five mins at the front desk before I could get anyone's attention. Palms Grooming, please feel free to contact me if you wanna give my cat, Babe, a third try. I took my puppy to bluff creek dog park and wanted a shower and nails cut & a small cut in the front side of her hair. I called palms grooming salon and he was nice enough to take in my dog even though he was the only worker and had 2 ahead of mine. He was done quick and it's the first time they actually left her how he always wanted. I was really happy with the results! Everywhere we go they end up shaving her off because they're lazy to deal with her curly hair. I'm so thankful I finally found a good grooming spot for her.
