My biggest concern with my son starting at a big boy school was that he has so many allergies and if not caught on time can be severe. Nurse heather has been with him all these years and is always on top of his medication when a reaction is about to happen. She will call me every time and update me and let me know he is okay, she has been my life saver and has help put that anxiety at ease. All of the teachers he's had also know about his allergies and are very on top of it as well. They make sure parents who want to bring in treats (Valentine's Day, birthdays, etc) know that it is an allergy classroom and give us alternatives to bring in. All the staff are friendly and try very hard to remember every student and parent. The principal is so involved with the students day to day school life and is always around the halls chatting with the kiddos. My son absolutely adore his principal, very different experience from mine (I barely knew my principles). Overall this is a wonderful school with wonderful staff that make your kids feel safe, happy, and want to go to school. They lied about my daughter making the cheer team after she was bullied and removed her from the cheerleading team and allowed the bullies to be apart of the team but told my daughter, the victim she couldn't attend. From The Principal, to the Assistant Principal to the Guidance Counselor to the Dean all heard my issue and ignored my issue and we reported a bullying claim against the child and the school went 14 days without even documenting the issue even though the Principal, Assistant Principal and Guidance Counselor all stated that it would be filed when the incident happened but were untruthful because I didn't know the official process so I couldn't tell if it had been filed or not. Once contacting DUVAL County School Board (Which only takes the bullying reports and document them.) now all of a sudden they want to handle the bully report like they were supposed to weeks ago, I also reached out to the Charter Schools corporate office and no one ever responded. I left voicemails and emails but no one cared. I literally had the fight for my child to be out the class with the bully's and the administrators were so frustrated that they were removing her that I believe in part that's why they retaliated against my daughter. They say they want parental involvement but when they get it they don't want it. I told them I want to volunteer and I'm DUVAL County Approved Volunteer. They have yet to respond. I now know why the morning and afternoon drop off and pickup line is so horrible and I feel it's because the administration. They did my child wrong a 10 year old who reported getting bullied and kids were spreading rumors that she had lice in her head and as she was trying out for cheer they were bullying her saying means things. She reports the incidents and are some how removed from the cheer squad because of it. Very poor leadership. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone although they have great teachers I'm now hearing from other parents that they've had to also remove the kids from the school because they were getting bullied, the administrators turns a blind eye to bullying.

Was out to the movies with friends and family and The school must of had a Movie Day field trip. Ms. A****** her teacher were in the same theater as us and they kept shushing the children to the point of getting in one of their face as to threaten the child while waving her finger in the child's face. I had to bite my tongue not say anything specially after they both started talking, lounder than the child she scolded. Ugh! We had to evacuate the theater and while we waited for the fire department to arrived I went to ask what school they were from and at which location. Told them thanks and walked away. A***** in minutea approach me to ask why and ifI had a child to enroll? I told her no, it was to write a review in regards to the way they were with disrespecting the children. Unfortunately, she didn't like what I said and called me rude. Ironically it was her and the other teacher being extremely rude to the children. Rude because I called her out? Rude, Rude, Rude was what she kept yelling at me as she walked away. I did tell her to have a nice day and to treat the children better and with more respect. So, imagine if this is how they treat the children out in public... It terrifies me to think on how they are treating the children behind closed doors. I had an issue with my app still showing me the old location we were at , I submitted tickets and called their help desk but it wasn't until I stopped at the front desk one afternoon and talked to Ms. Kaylee (might not be how you spell it but trust me they know who she is!). Your child will not get lost among all the other students here. They will be in a smaller sized class setting and will not get looked over. They will feel as if they are at a home away from home. The kids get a good dose of exercise during P.E., which is being taken out of so many of the public schools. Both of my children were on the basketball team and learned so much about teamwork, and sportsmanship. Catholic or not, you absolutely cannot go wrong with sending your children to this wonderful school. All of my children have been at Covenant since they were in kindergarten (two since…read morepre-kindergarten) and since the name change from First Baptist Academy to Covenant and the move to the new campus at 2300 Bartram Road. The name comes from the principle of a biblical covenant where the parents and the school partner together to shepherd their children based on biblical principles. Some parents get frustrated when the schools rules are more strict then their household rules and it can lead to tension. Kids can be asked to leave if they cannot follow the rules (they use a demerit system and parents are usually notified within 24 hours). The small Christian school is located on approximately 21 acres of land off of University Boulevard besides two other schools and a local non-profit. It has a baseball field, a gym, a chapel , a main office building and several buildings dedicated to classroom learning with technology consistent with latest industry standards. The administration is consistently trying to update classrooms and buildings. The school adheres to a classical style education so your kids will read classics and learn Latin. They will also be involved in drama, choir or band. As our children have navigated life at Covenant and life in general, we have found the staff and faculty to be both compassionate and professional. When we have came to them with concerns or issues, they have addressed them promptly with both wisdom and concern. Teachers and administration typically respond to requests within 24 hours, if not sooner. Many of the teachers are here because they want to be and not because it is a job or they have to. The school uses an academic curriculum that is challenging and age appropriate. However, there is a lack of locker space so kids carry a lot of books, musical instruments and sports equipment if on a team. However, teachers and staff do work with them on letting them store stuff in the office or classrooms. Our children are also involved in a variety of after school activities from intramurals, NJHS, student council and team sports. Varsity sports include cross country, volleyball, basketball, and baseball. All offerings are designed to produce leaders and instill leadership qualities. Price point for the school is in line with most private Christian schools in the area. The school also offers early drop off and after school care for a fee. Lower school enrollment is higher than upper school enrollment (but they have only had high school for 4 years now). They also take several forms of state tuition assistance. Lower school everything is included in tuition, in upper school you have to buy binders, pencils, etc. Wish they would adopt that principle for upper school but I get why they don't - one forgetful middle school boy could easily decimate a classes pencil allotment. Can be a really good option for your family depending on what your goals and values are.
