We had one dog with knee issues and he has had surgery on both knees (prior to moving to Loxahatchee). The doctor was amazing from the moment we met her. She was so caring and her energy was amazing. The staff has learned who we are because since we moved here, we rescued another dog and now bring both of them here. When I call, I am almost always connected with Vanessa who recognizes me right away. We are always able to get an appt shortly thereafter. The dog with knee issues unfortunately began to limp again on the first knee he had surgery on. We let the doctor know and she evaluated him. She advised that he see a specialist that goes to their office. We waited for that specialist to evaluate our dog and his X-ray and he said the dog needed another surgery. The orthopedic surgeon was amazing! By far the best orthopedic surgeon (out of the three total that have worked on my dogs knees). After the surgery, the vet and her staff took care of him and he was in such good hands! We got to bring him home one day later and we took him back for a follow up several days later. He has recovered so well! I believe this was the hardest surgery (since it was a botched job that was previously done) and it was the one he recovered the best from! We come here for our dogs annual vaccines, heart worm injections, and any issue or concern we have in general. We are so grateful we stumbled across this vet. Thank you for everything you guys do!

I've been going to this vet for several years with multiple animals and I've always felt that this…read moreplace was only interested in my money. Stacy always presented a negative picture to me of what could happen if I don't do the recommended procedures and made me feel guilty if I didn't do what she recommended. For example, "Many of our patients have their animals' dental cleanings done every year. Her jaw could shatter at any time." Because we had already taken our animals there, we were hesitant to switch because we couldn't get into the vets that were recommended because they were too busy. So, we chose the procedures that made sense for our animals and our budget. Six months ago, after having extensive tests done on my 15-year-old cat, because he had a seizure, she told me that he had congestive heart failure and could die at any time. I was shocked and devastated. We were already dealing with the extra costs and work for our ailing 17-year-old dog (we transitioned to another vet for her). Stacy prescribed 3 sets of medication for my cat that were very expensive. One of the pills was ($100) and larger than a human would take, and he just wouldn't eat anything with medication in it (even broken up). We tried everything. He began avoiding us and stopped eating because he felt that his food contained meds and we decided that we couldn't continue trying to give him the meds. We discussed it with the vet, asking if it would help if we (at least) could give the smaller ones. They wouldn't give us a straight answer and just said, "Good luck." Six months later, he is alive and doing ok but developed some congestion. Two weeks ago, we started trying to give him the pills and were most successful with the furosemide (the smallest one). He recovered. Today, I tried to get those renewed but the vet refused saying that it is recommended, after 6 months, that he get all the tests again (~$1000.00 and sedation). I told her that we only recently (two weeks) started trying to give him the pills again and that we were not putting him through that as we wanted him to live the last few weeks of his life without needles, sedation, etc., at the vet. The cost and torture to him didn't make sense to us after only being able to give some of the pills for 2 weeks. We did not need refills for the others because we are not as successful in giving them. We know he doesn't have much time left and are hoping we have several more weeks. They refused to renew the medication and kept saying, like a broken record, "It is recommended, after 6 months...". They didn't care. We are never going back.

Their offices aren't fancy in fact it's pretty bare-bones but it's clean neat and efficiently run. Unlike other vet offices that look like a mini Kmart the only thing Dr. Jay sells are fairly priced creams and medical supplements. They are so ethical that when I came from another vet who recommended all types of surgeries and procedures on my 2 chihuahuas, I wa sat down and carefully explained to why none of that was necessary. Two years later my pets are in perfect health. as a doctor I really appreciate the personalized care of the staff extends to my Caramel and Fudge who always seem disappointed when I pick them up to take them home after boarding with Dr. Jay and Dr .Cynthia for a week. Do NOT take your pet here for surgery. I am sharing my experience so another animal does not suffer…read moreunnecessarily. I scheduled a neuter for my rabbit and quickly began noticing concerning gaps in knowledge. The day before surgery, I was instructed not to feed him after midnight. Anyone familiar with rabbits knows fasting can be dangerous and may trigger GI stasis, a potentially fatal condition. When I questioned this, staff placed me on hold and later confirmed hay was allowed. This instruction should've told me that they don't know about rabbits but they're the vet, right? At drop-off, I asked multiple times to speak with the veterinarian. He clearly didn't want to talk with me. There was no pre-anesthetic screening, no discussion of bloodwork, nothing. I demand to talk to him to ask about a rabbit vaccine and was told he "does not treat rabbits"..... despite being scheduled to perform surgery on mine that day. I was so beyond scared but was reassured and rushed out by his assistants that everything would be fine. I spent the day anxious with no updates. When I picked my rabbit up, he was covered in blood with no aftercare instruction. I asked about pain medication and was told he received a 24-hour injectable pain reliever and would not need anything further. When I asked to purchase additional pain medication (knowing rabbits CAN remain in pain beyond 24 hours and stress can lead to serious complications) I was told they do not carry pain medication because they do not treat rabbits. Let that sink in: They performed surgery on an animal they do not treat and sent a patient home without pain management. My heart was breaking for my bunny and I felt so guilty for putting him in the care of people who did NOT care about him. By 1:30am the next night we were at the emergency hospital. He was bleeding everywhere and clearly in pain. The emergency vet provided pain medication and stabilized him. The following days were stressful and uncertain. On our third telehealth vet visit in 3 days, a vet explained that the surgical technique used can cause post-operative bleeding, something I was never warned about and for which I received no aftercare instructions. My rabbit is now recovering properly thanks to emergency care and follow-up veterinarians who actually cared about his comfort and recovery. What was presented as a cost-effective option ultimately became far more expensive financially, emotionally, and in unnecessary suffering of my bun. If a clinic cannot provide pain management after surgery, they should not be performing the surgery at all. Animals feel pain too!!!! How would that vet like one of his body parts cut off without pain medication beyond 24hrs. Awful awful practice.

I just want to add that by the time I got her to emergency care we did the surgery for 7,000 dollars. The dog did not recover and I had to manually express her bladder and she was shitting on herself. She was 5 years old. She would stare at me blankly in her pen. She was a shell and absolutely depressed. When I brought her in about a month after the surgery the vet tech and temporary vet who helped me euthanize my baby were making jokes and giggling that her tongue was hanging out from the euthanasia drugs. While I held her and cried. It was so surreally terrible. IT was unbelievable, so much so That i couldnt bring myself to even write a review because I was devastated. About a week or two i heard Dr. Abbott returned from her trip out of state and I spoke to her on the phone - I just explained what happened and cried. There was nothing anyone could do. This is the fault of her STAFF. and THE TEMPORARY VETS (Roo Relief?) Dr Abbott was not present during this. I do think it would have gone a lot differently if she was however, it is still her responsibility to train her staff for emergency situations and not completely rely on some dimwit temp vet from who knows where. I still think about this. Nearly every day. It was so fucking messed up.

I have never been more impressed with a medical facility -- and that includes every human hospital I've visited with family members for surgeries and ER visits. This is truly a top-of-the-line operation. From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff treated us with extraordinary kindness and compassion. They were reassuring, supportive, and genuinely caring. In one of the most frightening moments we've had as pet owners, that level of humanity meant everything. Roxy was hospitalized for three days, and the care was exceptional from start to finish. The ICU is spotless and highly organized, and there was someone by her side 24/7. We were allowed to visit from 10am-10pm, which made a huge emotional difference for us. Communication was constant and clear. The team explained every step, was upfront and transparent about costs, asked for approval before doing anything, and was conscientious about the bill even when we told them to do whatever was necessary to save her. Every doctor and nurse we encountered was incredibly intelligent, highly trained, and deeply compassionate. It is obvious they genuinely care about their patients and their families, and it shows in everything they do. Eric, one of the ICU nurses, even had his personal bulldog donate plasma to Roxy -- an act of generosity and care we will never forget. When we returned a few days later for a checkup with Dr. Ghantous, the follow-up care was just as impressive. Not only was the medical guidance excellent and thorough, but the entire team -- including ICU vets and nurses -- remembered Roxy, came over to check on her, and were genuinely happy to see her doing well. That kind of continuity and heart is rare. This is the most impressive medical facility I have ever seen, human or veterinary. They deserve enormous recognition for the level of skill, compassion, and professionalism they provide. I would not think twice about bringing my dog here again, and I would strongly recommend ACCESS to anyone and everyone I know.

Then I took her to Access for additional care as a primary and they were difficult. Her values worsted at ACCESS. They inserted a feeding tube in her and when I slowly became aware of their unhygienic practices (caged pets, urine in blankets unchanged for 2-3 days, food in water bowl, difficult front desk staff) I immediately wrote a negative review for people out there. They immediately shut off all care for my cat including all prescription medications as a way to punish my cat to send a strong response to my negative review. They delayed releasing medical records so no other emergency vet could immediately treat her and no primary could prescribe her medications in time. She was in critical condition when they abruptly cut of service. They left me without feeding syringe to take home and give food through the tube. I had to go to an emergency to get tubes and meds. I contacted many hospitals across Florida and they were not shocked about Access as they are aware of them being difficult. Her condition got worse and so I took her back to VEG and they ran blood work. Turns out my cat had astronomically high values for white blood cells and very low platelets. Access did not run the full blood work to catch any of this. She got internal bleeding and sever infection from being at Access cages and overall poor / unsanitary conditions. Her blood work was never done to catch any of this. They only ran 2-3 values while ignoring full comprehensive care. Her blood work looked great on the 26th of April when she left VEG and just within a month of care at Access she was as good as gone. Plateles so low that additional testing at other clinics would put her at risk for more clots and bleeding. I assure you that no care is better care than Access.
