I am very happy to say that Dr. Jay and his daughter Cynthia are outstanding professionals dedicated to taking care of your pets. Their offices aren't fancy in fact it's pretty bare-bones but it's clean neat and efficiently run. Unlike other vet offices that look like a mini Kmart the only thing Dr. Jay sells are fairly priced creams and medical supplements. They are so ethical that when I came from another vet who recommended all types of surgeries and procedures on my 2 chihuahuas, I wa sat down and carefully explained to why none of that was necessary. Two years later my pets are in perfect health. as a doctor I really appreciate the personalized care of the staff extends to my Caramel and Fudge who always seem disappointed when I pick them up to take them home after boarding with Dr. Jay and Dr .Cynthia for a week. I can't recommend this place enough and I've turned all my patients on to it . read more

Do NOT take your pet here for surgery. I am sharing my experience so another animal does not suffer unnecessarily. I scheduled a neuter for my rabbit and quickly began noticing concerning gaps in knowledge. The day before surgery, I was instructed not to feed him after midnight. Anyone familiar with rabbits knows fasting can be dangerous and may trigger GI stasis, a potentially fatal condition. When I questioned this, staff placed me on hold and later confirmed hay was allowed. This instruction should've told me that they don't know about rabbits but they're the vet, right? At drop-off, I asked multiple times to speak with the veterinarian. He clearly didn't want to talk with me. There was no pre-anesthetic screening, no discussion of bloodwork, nothing. I demand to talk to him to ask about a rabbit vaccine and was told he "does not treat rabbits"..... despite being scheduled to perform surgery on mine that day. I was so beyond scared but was reassured and rushed out by his assistants that everything would be fine. I spent the day anxious with no updates. When I picked my rabbit up, he was covered in blood with no aftercare instruction. I asked about pain medication and was told he received a 24-hour injectable pain reliever and would not need anything further. When I asked to purchase additional pain medication (knowing rabbits CAN remain in pain beyond 24 hours and stress can lead to serious complications) I was told they do not carry pain medication because they do not treat rabbits. Let that sink in: They performed surgery on an animal they do not treat and sent a patient home without pain management. My heart was breaking for my bunny and I felt so guilty for putting him in the care of people who did NOT care about him. By 1:30am the next night we were at the emergency hospital. He was bleeding everywhere and clearly in pain. The emergency vet provided pain medication and stabilized him. The following days were stressful and uncertain. On our third telehealth vet visit in 3 days, a vet explained that the surgical technique used can cause post-operative bleeding, something I was never warned about and for which I received no aftercare instructions. My rabbit is now recovering properly thanks to emergency care and follow-up veterinarians who actually cared about his comfort and recovery. What was presented as a cost-effective option ultimately became far more expensive financially, emotionally, and in unnecessary suffering of my bun. If a clinic cannot provide pain management after surgery, they should not be performing the surgery at all. Animals feel pain too!!!! How would that vet like one of his body parts cut off without pain medication beyond 24hrs. Awful awful practice. read more

Absolutely awful experience. I took my cat here due to what I thought was a simple animal wart. Initially they told me not to worry about it. Which thank god I ignored them and went somewhere else because it turned out to be a tumor beneath his skin . I was told if I wanted it removed they'd have to keep him to take his blood to make sure he could handle anesthetic. I left him there for 5 hours. And when I returned they said they were unable to draw blood because he was attacking the technicians. My cat has gotten nothing but compliments for good behavior at the other vet he'd go to before it closed. They kept him in his carrier. No phone call. For 5 hours. And told me "well maybe you can keep him still" So I had to hold down my cat while they drew blood. And I could obviously tell why he was attacking them. They were gripping his skull and just pulling his head back, no petting, no nothing. They also had me in a surgery room covered in blood spots and bloody tissues and I was told "well we had a surgery in here today" like clean up your rooms!! This is disgusting!! The place was just simply awful. No communication, no care, and a fundamental lack of knowledge to even treat an animal. read more

I couldn't be more grateful for this facility & everyone in it. My dog needed an emergency c-section. I drove from Saint Lucie County because Midcounty was recommended by a relative. I was under a lot of stress & the staff & doctors were very attentive, caring & understanding! They helped my baby immediately. They were able to give me four out of six babies. Unfortunately one got stuck in her birth canal while the other wasn't responsive, the doctor did everything in her power to save this baby! I even took her home & did everything I could as well, but unfortunately she did not make it. The doctor helped me cut up a box to place the babies, & the staff even helped me safely get my dog & her babies into my car. I want the thank the vets at Midcounty Vet. The Bulldog specialist is amazing. We adopted a french Bulldog who had to get emergency surgery for an eye injury he sustained at his previous owner. I was so worried, but Midcounty took exceptional care of Nova. We are going back for palette surgery later bc the vet recommended it, and said we would have an easier time breathing. having frenchies can be stressful when something goes wrong, but Midcounty is great. I also have a friend mutual friend who her Frenchie recently had BOAS surgery for her frenchie, and he recovered wonderfully. Poor veterinary practice. I was holding back on a review but i definitely need to add my experience. I have been here a few times. For regular in and out visit it's an okay place. Don't expect customer service from the main doctor Jay nor the techs. Everyone's pretty straight faced and forward -not very welcoming so don't expect bed side manner here but honestly who cares if they do a good job right ? the daughter is probably the only decently mannered in the practice which is why I returned. Unfortunately I came here for a regular teeth cleaning that turned into my worst nightmare leading to the worst day of my life. My dog (9y/o) had a slight murmur nothing too alarming otherwise healthy. Now through my experience and the extensive research and info from other(MULTIPLE better/professional) vets I now know and understand that the vets here did not take the proper steps to make sure it was safe to put her under anesthesia. They ran blood work but never checked anything else. They also kept her under sedation for too long and gave her an access of fluid leading to a severe enlarged heart. Before the procedure her murmur was at a 1 so they must have loaded her up. The next day she was drowsy which was normal but then day two she was panting and gasping for air. I took her back to kid county were they identified the enlarged heart with fluids and rushed her to the ER and they were able to get here stable. From here, For 3 months I fought in and out of the emergency room through heart failure attacks ,$25k+ in visits and the most traumatic experience I could have imagined with my dog turning blue and fainting. I would have given my life for this dog but unfortunately she died in my arms gasping for air due to the negligence of Mid county. I would still have my pup had they taken the extra steps to run an echo or at least check the heart or run an x ray and they could have avoided this whole situation. As a normal person with no vet experience I trusted that my vet knew what they were doing and moved forward. Had I known I couldn't caught this but as most people don't have a vet degree we can't call out when things are missed. If you work there and read this please do better. Run proper test for all your patients when undergoing anesthesia. This is malpractice and have the vets at 3 different points practices backing that statement. Shame. I can't get my pup back but I hope you take them to a better place for procedures or anything delicate because you could be me. read more

Super thankful to Dr. Jeyapaul and Dr. Henriquez for helping make my rescue affordable. I took in a kitten found in my bushes approx 1mo old and, when I called around to my usual and other local Vets, the price to neuter was just astronomical. I asked the FB rescue groups where to find low cost vetting for rescues and Mid County came highly recommended. I was able to easily communicate and schedule with staff via email and get the procedure within less than 2 wks of inquiring. I chose to wait til my kitty was full grown. The process was seamless, the results look great and my kitty is healing well and adjusting to his new anatomy. This vet is a 45min drive from me but the waiting room was well attended, the service was affordable and timely and so I believe I will be coming back w my other animals for non-emergency needs and will definitely be referring others. I've spent so much money on blood test and xrays twice for them to find nothing and for the main doctor to tell me he 'thinks' that might be the issue. He thinks he thinks but he dont know shit. All he does is feed your dog pills so if you really want to figure out whats wrong with your pet take them somewhere else even if its a couple extra bucks take them somewhere where people know what they are doing. If you ever wonder why this place is so cheap thats why just a bunch of dummys working together. Just came back after getting a second opinion from 2 others vets that simply did a regular exam and they found whats wrong with her by just touching her stomach and told us she has a mass which would require an ultrasound, something these useless excuse of so called vets couldnt figure out in 3 visits after doing xrays and blood work now its the weekend and she has gotten much worse PLEASE save your animals and take them somewhere where they will actually be taken care of. read more

He has an acquired personality but he is genuine and doesn't try to upswell anything. The facility is always clean and easy to find. My Mid County Vet experience: I arrived 20 mins early because My two chihuahua's were new patients. I filled out the paperwork and waited 45 minutes in my car. They finally gave us a room where I waited another 30 mins. My appt was for 10am. At 11am (4 minutes ago) I walked out by without doing anything but weighing my two precious pups. My furbabies are WAY worth more than the savings they offer! Im going back to my vet, who has served my pups for the last 12 years. Doctor has zero bedside manner or empathy, he didn't even acknowledged my dog when he came in, just started exploring him very roughly, even though he knew he's a traumatized rescue in pain: He wasn't empathetic towards me, but what it's worse, he was a negligent doctor. He didn't give me basic info (his staff did after he left, almost whispering). He didn't explain anything about the dogs condition or reason for treatment, he left out important basic things and yes: he gave me the wrong advice to combine two medications that could potentially kill my dog (not me saying it, but the FDA, simple Googling is enough). I would not recommend this vet. I've been to this place for 3 years now. The vet has no bedside manor. He really has no care for that animals at all. I didn't care very much because my dogs were never sick and he was cheap. This last annual I caught him not giving the actual vaccines. He stuck my dog but did not inject him with the vaccine. Then tried to hide it behind an add on the counter. It gets even better because I had both dogs with me. So 2 dogs. 2 shots each and a syringe to draw blood for heartworm test. Should have been 6 total syringes right? He only brought in 4. When I called him out on what he did, his face turned blank, tried to make excuses, then grabbed the 2 syringes and left the room. Came back to vaccinate my second dog, most likely with the same ones he used on my first dog. This is why he is so cheap. The scam and potential health risk is despicable. read more

Took our dog to be spayed on 06/23, a vibrant, happy and playful dog. Our dog ended up lethargic, unable to eat without throwing up her food. Took her back twice but they couldn't tell me if something had gone wrong during the surgery. They said her spleen was enlarged and maybe we should consider taking to a specialist or put her down. We requested her chart but the wouldn't release to us. We took her to another vet who was able to get the records but they wouldn't give us an honest diagnosis, they did however release the tests before and after the surgery at Midcounty and we noticed the blood work before the surgery indicated her white blood cells were higher than normal, this indicates she might have had an infection before the surgery but the proceeded with the surgery the day after the blood tests. The results of her blood work 2 weeks after surgery showed her white blood cells were even higher than before. It turns out no one can heal her now and we are making arrangements to put her down this weekend. Avoid taking your pet to this facility. read more

I had to take my 13 year old dachshund to Midcounty because she was lethargic and confused. X-rays showed she had a large mass in her abdomen. Dr. Jeyapaul and Dr. Henriquez operated on her and removed a one pound hematoma and her spleen. The Doctors and the staff were so sweet and gentle with Roxie it made me cry. I hate this place. First time I went I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time. Second time I went I had an appointment again and they took every walk in before me, I waited 45 minutes before I was told the doctor had gone into surgery and wouldn't be able to see us. ONLY AFTER I had to ask what was going on since I had waited there patiently for so long with no answers or customer service at all. Third time I go back I went first thing in the morning as a walk in to get their nails trimmed and was told they don't do nail trimmings unless it's also to see the vet for something else. But, funny, the vet doesn't even do the nail trimming. One of the vet techs does. And the vet doesn't even get in for an hour and a half after they open. Why would they be called 'hospital' if the only person certified to actually help your animals isn't there when they open. read more

I've been to several Vets in several cities and this is the worst vet ever. The first visit, the male doctor didn't do much about what we came for. The next visit we had the female doctor who did alot more but didn't go far enough. We then went for the third visit (driving 40 minutes to get there) and was told the female doctor had to leave. No one informed us in order to save our drive there. In addition, they did a heartworm test which was negative but refused to send the script to Chewy in order for us to obtain his heartworm meds. I have been trying to get in touch with them for 2 days but is put on hold. After 15 minutes on hold, I hung up. I phoned again today and the line is constantly busy. They had informed Chewy that I needed to drive there to pick up the prescription. If you value your time and your pet, go elswhere! read more

Went there because the receptionist on the phone said they can do something about eye cateracts. All that happened was we waited an hour only to be told after 2 seconds of examination that the dog has cateract, which I already knew and then was referred to a specialist. Instead of wasting our time telling us they can do something on the phone they should have said there was nothing they could do. Never again would I go there. The veterinarian also had an attitude problem which made the whole situation even more unpleasant. Fortunately we weren't charged for the whole waste of time and it's the only reason I gave them 2 instead of 1 star. read more

LONG REVIEW - We just relocated from out of state and needed to find a vet because one of our dogs had been sick. We chose this place because of a referral and all of the positive reviews. What a mistake. We walked in and the place was filthy. I understand it is a place for animals but it was filthy beyond normal. We then had to wait 45 minutes past our appointment before even being taken back to an examination room (there was only one dog ahead of us and they were in and out within 25 minutes). Once in examination room I was appalled to see there was a window in the room that allowed me to see someone's dog laying across the hallway undergoing a surgery. I asked the Vet Assistant if that is what I was seeing and she said yes. What?! That is crazy. I should not be able to see someone's pet, unconscious, in surgery! Anyways, I brought stool sample in so Assistant could test it. Finally, an HOUR after scheduled appointment the male Vet came in. His bedside manner was non-existent. He didn't acknowledge my dog, didn't pet him, just walked past him. He never called him by name and went as far as to refer to him as a her. He insisted on doing rectal exam to get sample even tho I told him several times that I brought in sample and Assistant had already tested it. He did it anyways....all while he muzzled my dog and made me hold him down while my poor dog screeched and yelped while the Vet used his hand, not a swab stick. The final straw was checking out and I told him I needed to purchase the heartworm chews and he said ok, but he will need to draw blood to test for heartworm in addition to giving chews.. We finished up my payment transaction and he then proceeded to walk away. I had to remind him that a blood draw was supposed to be done for heartworm and his response was "oh, ya, ok, I will do it right here". IN THE HALLWAY! In the hallway?......who does that! I have NEVER experienced this type of service at a veterinary facility in my life. I was in tears walking out of this place. Please note: the Assistants here were very nice and attentive to my dog, it is the male Vet who needs to brush up on his bedside manner. Needless to say the next day I found a different veterinary hospital in Wellington that I brought my other dog to and the difference was NIGHT and DAY. The new place I will be going to from now on is a few extra dollars for the same services but was worth every penny just for the cleanliness and bedside manner of the entire staff alone! I cannot express my gratitude enough to the staff for the compassion and kindness they have shown to our dog, Lola. After being misdiagnosed at Paws 2 Help, Lola was diagnosed quickly with cancer.
