He needed to go to Rainbow Bridge. Palmyra Pet Clinic scheduled him promptly. They made a Little Book of Gabriel's Paw Impressions, a Card and Sooo much Love and Understanding. Thank you Dr Brady and staff! We brought our dog in for an emergency on Saturday. He had been throwing up for hours, severe stomach issues and had become extremely lethargic. They had been closed for an hour but took us in. Dr Brady not only took phenomenal care of our pup but had him ready to go home by today (Sunday). He came in on his day off to check on him and clear him for check out. We could not be any happier with the service we received and more importantly the care and attention our dog received during his stay. Walks, cuddles, and lots of love. Staff was super attentive and very friendly as well... We moved here two years ago and have finally found a vet we'll be very comfortable taking our pets to. read more

Brought my Golden in for a checkup and shots. Was told they were running 20 minutes behind. After trying to upsell me on everything they possibly could, I sat and waited almost an hour and a half with no one addressing how much longer i would be waiting. When i asked the receptionist, all i received was an empty look and no answers. While standing there, another pet owner also left his appt for the same reason. I thought I would try to be understanding and reschedule. Unfortunately after no apology the receptionist told me it would be at least a month for the next available appt. They obviously are only concerned with making money and do not care about their customers or the pets they see. Horrible experience after 2 years of going there. I have been a client with this practice since they opened. Taken many, many animals there. This was my last visit . Manager couldn't even have the decency to return a phone call. Doesn't matter what happened, but a return call at least acknowledging my concern would have be nice. Instead, you made it loud and clear you couldn't care less. When I called and spoke to Mary, she may as well told me to F off. You used to have a well respected practice, but your office staff of people lacking basic social skills, let alone customer service, has turned you into another poorly run business. DO NOT GO HERE! .... I was looking for a new vet after moving to the area and gave this place a try as my cat was biting under her tail and it was severely inflamed. The vet came in the room, noticed her ears were red and some scabs around them. I told him this happens every year around this time and that she gets ear drops for it. He gave me drops to take home, with no instructions on. He gave her a steroid shot to help with the itching, but wait.....you didnt examine her!!!! Not once did he lift her tail to look at her inflamed backside, didnt take her temp, didnt feel her abdomen, check her heart, teeth or anything else! Didnt ask if I changed detergents or her food, nothing! I called in approximately 4 days after visit saying its not better. They said wait another 3 days. I did, nothing changed. They offered me a cream, I said for what??? As you didnt even look at it!! They wanted me to pay for another visit, I said no! I told them it should be free. After an entire day they called back saying I could see the same vet for a free exam. I said no!!! In the end I drove over an hour to my old vet, they lifted the tail and said its a yeast infection. She was given an antibiotic and special wipes to use for 2wks. Now how hard was that!! Do not go to this vet!! Not only did they charge me $218 to not even lift my cats tail, they also do not have scales in the exam room so your cat will have to be weighed on a floor scale mid waiting room with noise and dogs. My cat went into diabetic shock and Palmyra Animal Clinic was the only place that could see him asap after I took him to Shores. The staff was friendly and the vet listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions fully. I am very thankful they were able to see me. Bill was very reasonable and I was relieved it was lower than I expected. I would go there again, but it is too far from Harrisburg. But there system is tied to Colonial Park Animal Clinic, which is my usually vet and I am confident nothing will get lost in translation, lol. read more

I do not recommend this shady vets office to anyone. I recently boarded my dog here and I Called during the week and was told that he was doing fine and was being good and minding his own business. Come to find out that they gave him drugs to calm him down every day he was there. the doctor never once notified us. Then he charges me more money for more pills! I asked if he was supposed to tell us before doing this stuff. His response was no? How would you like it if you take your kid to a doctor and they don't notify you of what they are doing to him/her. This place is wonderful. I was taking my animals to a different vet but after repeadly being hung up on by the receptionist, I decided to try this place. The staff is curteous and friendly. The place is very down to earth. Not pretentious like the other vet I used. The vet was friendly, kind and to the point. Overall, this vet makes me very happy. They also offer boarding which is $.50 cheaper than competitors and as if all that wasn't enough they also give a 20% military discount! I can't believe that! The other vet I used didn't offer one. I am looking forward to boarding my cat there. Food, water, litter, everything is included for $12.50 a day. My cat has a small medical issue that requires her to be re-dosed while she is boarded and they will do that for her while she's there. I couldn't ask for a better place. I would say that the wait in the lobby was a little longer than I would have liked but they apologized. Plus the military discount is worth going there alone. Vets are expensive and that is a wonderful service they offer. I am very happy. No complaints. Will be taking my dog there once I return from vacation. Highly recommend them. read more

Took my cat in for routine check and shots because we moved to Palmyra a while ago and it was convenient and close. Despite the fact that I was 5+ minutes EARLY for my appointment and there was only 1 other person there, I waited literally 45 minutes past my appointment time to see the vet. This is bad enough with kids - but really outrageous with an animal who certainly cannot understand why he is being trapped in an unfamiliar room for an hour. Luckily my cat is very even-tempered. Can't imagine it with a stressed-out pet or a puppy or kitten who needs to pee more often. When we finally saw the vet, she was totally unfriendly and didn't even seem to like animals much. They took my cat away to give him his shots, which I didn't appreciate at all and have never experienced at any other vet. I'll be finding a new vet to take my cats to after this - I'd rather drive an extra 15 minutes and see someone who cares about the animals (and people!) they treat. read more

Writing this to hopefully help other loving pet owners and their babies. The last month has been a nightmare and they have made it very apparent that they don't care at all for my cat. On Feb 23, 2021 my sweet kitty was spayed. It costs me upwards of $640 (which is very expensive for a cat spay) and what we received was a botched job which led to my poor baby being re-sutured THREE times after the original surgery. My husband and I are very responsible pet owners, we followed all of the post op recommendations and requirements precisely and I understand that sometimes these post op complications still happen. The issue that I had the entire time was the complete and very obvious annoyance they had with me each time I had to bring my poor baby in because her sutures kept coming undone and she kept having her incision open. I never received a follow up call after any of the four surgeries to check on her. I had to pay repeatedly for a simple pain reliever and antibiotics each re-suture when in my opinion it should have been part of her post operative care. By the end of this nightmare I've paid this practice almost $800 and I have to now go to another practice (HIGHLY recommend Valley Animal Hospital) to have the sutures removed because they can't accommodate my schedule for a 5 minute suture removal after I've made 4 trips there now because of poorly done suturing. They could care less to find out how this final surgery healed for her. I must say, Dr. Brady has helped us in the past with another issue and I do very much like his bedside manner and care but unfortunately the rude, uncaring employees and the "work" done by Dr. Han has made it impossible for me to ever return and to warn everyone I can to NEVER trust this establishment to actually care about your pet. I have had good visits here but took my dog to be spayed today. Called and asked if they could update her shots. She was due for a few boosters. I sent in the paperwork from the clinic she had her original shots with what boosters were needed. Getting microchipped was NEVER brought up. When I was getting her post op instructions the vet had said they microchipped her. I couldn't believe it because my dog was already chipped and it was registered. She had her tag on her collar. So now my dog has 2 chips. And they were going to charge me. I had to tell them I wasn't paying for it. They didn't offer. I had to bring it up. The vet seemed annoyed during the conversation. She spoke like a robot with no feelings. This visit really did leave a bad taste. I'm not sure if I will be going back. I may just drive 40 min to my previous vet. Not saying the vet is bad BUT she didn't seem friendly or compassionate which is something someone should have with caring for living creatures. read more

Huge Thanks to everyone at the Clinic, our Lab had severe Ear infection and we needed to take her in, they were GREAT thru the entire process, talked everything thru on the phone, came outside to get her and took her in, Dr called me and went over everything with me, they found another issue while she was in and took care of it also, even trimmed her nails for us while she was in there, checked me out over the phone and then brought her out to me. Tough times for sure, but great to know our girl was in great hands and taken care of, really appreciate them and what they do for our Lab!!!!! read more

PLEASE, PLEASE do not bring your animal to this man. He killed my beloved Yorkie. I dropped my dog off for routine surgery and he died on the operating table. Meanwhile, this animal had gone under anestesia before and came out of it fine. When Dr. Clements called to tell me what had happened he was SO RUDE...and that is an understatement. He was not sympathetic AT ALL and could not clearly tell me what had happened. I still do not know to this day what went wrong. Very mixed review. On the positive, was happy to have a place to take my cat in an emergency, and the doctor that saw us over the weekend was very kind and professional. On the negative. We had to take the cat back for dental surgery. She is allergic to vaccines, and I relayed this to 5 different employees. Nonetheless she was given a full battery of vaccines. She became very sick and had to see another vet for two days. I checked with the state and was told that while it is state law for a cat to get a rabies vaccination, it is not state law for all the others and in any event none are absolutely required if the animal is ill -- as ours was. Second, the second vet noticed that she had a heart murmur and was shocked that any surgery would have been done on an animal with a moderate murmur without investigating the murmur. I called Palmyra to see if they had noticed the murmur and was told that they do not check for heart murmurs before surgery. This is very very disturbing to me and I understand from several other vets very very inappropriate. read more

He cut my birds nail too short and they sent him back to me bloody and covered in his poop and he ended up with a staph infection and a strep infection. My only gripe about this place is that they do not use certified or licensed veterinary technicians. Instead there are a lot of uneducated high school aged kids running the front desk and call you back with lab results of which they have no idea what they are talking about if you try to have a discussion about them. They NEVER just pick up the phone and talk to you. You will ALWAYS be placed on hold if you don't have an emergency and many times your call is dropped. I have been sitting in the office when they do this and they are having casual conversation while clients are holding. They ignore the phones for as long as they can. Not great for business guys! Otherwise, having worked in vet med myself the veterinarians themselves do great work and are caring. Some of the other comments on here are clearly from people that have never seen animals kenneled before and/or did not understand their animals condition and what the dr was treating. read more

Just moved to the area and took my 2 dogs here - the front desk was very nice and understanding regarding my pets illness. The vet was EXTREMELY rude, he recommended an electric shock collar to cure my dog's anxiety issues and made a mistake when giving my other dog a shot that caused her leg to bleed. He did nothing to stop the bleeding. I had to get a paper towel and put neosporin on it myself when I got home. I would never go back here. read more

We take our dogs to the Colonial office and have always received good care. It can be a little hectic in the morning during drop-offs but in general everyone's always been friendly and patient. They've helped us see two senior dogs through end of life care in a very compassionate manner. We also have a very shy, people fearful dog they are very patient with. We have used them multiple times for boarding and have no complaints. A Sunday pickup option would be nice but we plan accordingly. I do recommend them. read more

I was recommended this place by friends who have taken their animals there and had positive experiences. I took my dog in for a health check up (we had just adopted him) and I didn't leave feeling very listened to. I brought up some of my questions to the vet about his paws and his behavior and he laughed at me and told me the things I was concerned about weren't an issue. I understand if they weren't big deals to the vet, but why make me feel like my questions were stupid...? That same day I was quoted by the vet a less than $200 price for neutering, so I made an appointment. The day I brought him into be neutered the front desk staff quoted me a $900 fee! After being completely floored and asking several staff members about the $200 quote, one of the college age staff girls looked at the other and said "Oh, she's talking about the SNAP program!" Thank God that I inquired further, otherwise I would have ended up with a nearly $1,000 fee for his surgery. Palmyra Animal Clinic requires that all animals be boarded after their spaying/neutering surgery, thus requiring the kennel cough shot. I didn't want my dog to get the shot (as it seems unnecessary since he is never kenneled) but had (what I thought at the time) very little option since his surgery was that day. Two days after my dog was kenneled he developed a deep hacking cough. I brought him back in to the vet and he was given antibiotics along with a statement of "he doesn't have kennel cough, he must have caught something somewhere else." After being on the antibiotics for 8 days my dog started licking his back end and peeing all over my house. I brought a urine sample to the office and was told that he didn't have any crystals in his urine so he can't possibly have a urine infection. It was at this point that I decided to switch vets - and I couldn't be happier that I did. My new vet (Animal Health Care Center in Hershey) did a urine analysis test and stated that his PH level was up and his white blood cell count was off the charts, indicating a bladder infection. He also had an infected anal gland, hence the licking of the back end. They also took the time to listen to each one of my concerns and offer advice to all of my questions. I left feeling listened to and relieved that we now have answers. So really, I wish we could have had a positive experience at Palmyra Animal Clinic, but I won't ever be going there again. read more

To Whom it May Concern - If you value your pet, do not board it here. I boarded my pet at this facility in November 2017. Upon pickup of my dog, he was not eating or drinking at all. I ended up putting him to sleep 24 hours after picking him up, as a result of his deteriorated condition. My dog was older, but my concern is that nobody upon checkout or during his stay contacted me at all about his condition or any concerns. I even called mid-week to check on him. The reply I received was that he was "doing well and had eaten his breakfast". No other contact was made about his condition. Knowing his age, we purposely boarded him at this facility so if a medical issue arose he could be cared for - this was not the case at all. I don't know if the staff was even alert enough to see that there were any issues - which is puzzling since this is a vet's office. He entered the facility as a healthy dog and came home to die a day later. I followed up with the facility the following week to get the records from his stay. The kennel manager was too busy to return my call so the clinic manager called me that afternoon. During the call she proceeded to berate me for boarding my older dog at a kennel and said the records did not exist - yet made statements that he was fine during his stay (which was puzzling she knew that if there were no records). My dog is now gone and I cannot do anything about it - but what I can do is to tell my story to others and let them know how incompetent this facility is and not to ever use their services! I have seen other written reviews stating that the personal commitment is not there and that the business operates for the sole purpose of making money - after this experience I have to believe this. read more

This was the worst experience of my life!!! For years, over 20, we trusted Doctor Clemens with our dogs. 3 1/2 months ago my great dane was diagnosed with wobblers. I was told by doctor Migliore to come back in 30 days for a ct. Every month I called and was told doctor Migliore would call. Yesterday my dog collapsed on my kitchen floor and could not get up. With the help of great neighbors we got my 160 pound dog in the car. When we got to the clinic they had no way to get my dog in. Thank God friends were with us. We were told by the doctor on duty, after she made multiple calls that we would have to go to Penn because they could not perform the surgery he would need. Doctor Migliore was at another office and was "too busy" to talk to us. My husband talked to doctor Hann would was dismissive. After the poor doctor on duty, who was in way over her head finally did a pain response test on my dog we determined that it would best for Phoenix to say good bye to this world. My biggest issue is of they knew they couldn't do the surgery why wouldn't they just refer me to Penn 3 months ago for treatment. Was the ct expense sp important to their bottom line? I think it's a wonderful thing that they participate in the SNAP Express program to help make spaying more affordable. I love too how they light a candle when someone is putting their fur baby down. These facilities are awesome...I have had several dogs in there (all three of their branches) and got great care by Dr. Ruby. He has a true caring for the animals that he cares for. Please, however, rethink taking a dog there for a ear crop. Dr. Hann is a good vet, however, he doesn't know how to do ear crops correct at least on boxers. My poor dogs went through a ear crop with him, then a recrop since the first one was not right and then a third from a different vet that had to correct what wasn't right. I wish that he had stood behind his work and offered a refund (a credit to my account would have been as good) since I had to pay another vet to do what should have been done to begin with. I also wish that I had been told that he was inexperienced with boxer crops...I would have went else where to begin with. read more

I had to find another vet. Very frustrating to go here. As other poster stated, expect to wait 45 min to an hour after your appointment time before you see the vet. My dog had seizures and they wanted to admit her for a few days. When I got her back she was emaciated and starved. I really believe they let her in sedition rather than get her up and feed her. I had to nurse her back to Heath after returning from the vet. She ate like a horse those first few days home. They are very difficult to deal with as far as prescriptions. They would NEVER return my pharmacists calls when I needed a refill. Instead I had to call the vet, race from work to pick the prescription up, walk it across the street to the pharmacy and then get it filled. They wouldn't fax it across the street to the pharmacy ! It started off as "my prescription was a controlled substance" and that is why I had to pick it up in person. then it turned into them making me do this for all my prescriptions. When I did let the vet fill the prescription they charged me $14 more than what I pay at the pharmacy. Bottom line is they have enough business and they don't care about the individual. They could not even care less that I was unsatisifed and wanted to look elsewhere. Finding a new vet was a very good decision. Don't waste your time here. read more

Our cat was throwing up for 2 straight days and was not able to go to the bathroom. Called our regular vet of 5 years who told it us that she has a blockage and would probably need surgery. They don't do surgical procedures and advised us to go to an ER vet. We were able to get her in at Palmyra Animal clinic the next morning. The staff was very understanding and accommodating. After a Saturday appointment with the weekend vet she was still not feeling well. Were able to get her in on Monday and met with Dr Clements. He did a side view X-ray and it was determined she was constipated. He gave her an enema and some medication that absolutely did the trick. Dr Clements was very straight forward and to point( which I appreciate). He said if she was not better by Wednesday to BE SURE to give him a call. Our cat could not have received better treatment from Dr Clements and his staff. read more

I have been taking my two dogs to Palmyra Animal Clinic and Colonial (on occasions) for the past 12 years. I admit it does get busy at the front desk and being placed on hold can be frustrating at times. I will also agree I have dealt with front desk employees that were not very friendly or caring. But I also notice that these employees are no longer with the Clinic. I owe a lot of gratitude to Dr. Clements he is very knowledgeable, understanding and compassionate. He has been taking care of my two dogs, especially for Mishka (boxer) with the routine exams, to all of Mishka's surgeries and now for his on-going care for his terminal illness. The other doctor I would like to mention is Dr. Kauffman who has also taken care of Sasha (Shiba Inu) and on occasion Mishka is also a very good and caring doctor. All the other Doctors and Vet Techs that works there are very good at what they do. read more

If you have birds, Do Not take them here! They say they have the ability to care for birds but our bird was butchered! It cost $30.00 to get wings, nails and beak to be cared for. We took our bird for just his beak and after only 3 visits, his bottom beak was split into a V and grew over his top beak and his top beak was squared off at the tip (like it was cut and not shaped). He had blood stains around his beak and he became impossible to handle. He constantly bit and screamed at us when we tried to hold him. I called them to ask about his bottom beak and make an appointment for his top beak. When we dropped him off we even asked them to look at his bottom beak. When I picked him up that evening, they handed him to me and I asked again about his bottom beak and they were dumb founded. They called back to the vet and he said as long as he is eating, he is fine but if I'm still worried, I can make another appointment! We were so frustrated because at this time, he refused to be handled and constantly fell off his perch. He was miserable and we couldn't figure out why! We found an amazing bird lady who discovered that his wings were cut almost to the bone. They left only 2 feathers on his wing (his blood feathers) so when his wings were tucked, you couldn't tell the damage that was done! It's been almost 5 months since he has been to Palmyra Animal Clinic and our birds wings and beak are still damaged but are starting to look better. His balance is still off but he's not falling anymore. Most importantly, he is slowly allowing us to hold him again. If you take your bird someplace for care and they do not allow you to go back and be with your bird while being cared for... Take your bird and leave! read more

There is zero communication with scheduling and the vet. It took me a month to get the correct shot after the receptionist gave me the run around. They also gave my dog an extra shot not requested by me. What is the point of having records if no one bothers to read them. They could seriously harm your animal with this amount of incompetence.
