so I don't wanna read it not good. I just wanna share my experience. We had Dr. Rubuffo who did surgery on my Doberman for his ligament. I dropped him off at 8:15 in the morning. He did not get surgery until 10 o'clock that night. They did call me and keep me updated and he sat with the catheter all day, I was told emergencies. Brought my dog home we went back twice for a cast and on the third time which was a Friday night. I was told he was having a slight reaction and showing some pictures, but that was normal. I had noticed bandage coming out of the cast, didn't think of it until the next morning. Saturday morning he was freaking out. . Unbeknownst to us the front of his leg had a big gaping wound with dead skin. I ended up at the emergency room and they took very good care of him. This was the third bandage change. They said there is no way that skin could have died that quickly from less than 14 hours before so I was sent home Friday night under the impression he was having a slight reaction. I was mortified when I saw and smelt that wound. I contacted the veterinary hospital and they said they would look into it. I sent pictures of how gruesome it was and it got back that it was my fault. Because I let him lick it hard to do the cone on your head. All the doctors there could be wonderful. I do not know, but I did not take my dog back nor will I ever take my dog back there. I am very grateful to all the vets that have helped him since then , all of our process has been delayed by a month and a half because of that big gaping wound. read more

Dr. Bill at the Lititz Veterinary Clinic is so friendly and, most of all, knows what he's doing. He's been my mom's primary veterinarian ever since my stepfather closed his own practice. My mom is a bit tightly wound and impulsive, so having Dr. Bill there to walk her though all of the choices for her pets has been really great. He's also a bit of a story-teller, so be prepared to hear some crazy stuff during your appointment. During the most recent animal emergency, Dr. Bill and his wife performed surgery on our family cat. He's been there for the past week recovering, and my mom has been in the hospital every day with him. They're very understanding of the fact that some people's pets are like their children and even minor surgeries or problems can be very emotionally jarring. If I lived closer to Lititz, I'd make LVC my primary veterinary clinic. read more

The receptionist, Kay, is abrasive and can seem downright rude, condescending and unfriendly. Yet she has been there for years and you'll just have to learn that that's how she is and ignore her. Everyone else there is wonderful, friendly and caring. The care your pet will get is top notch, and that's what's important in the end. So, just put up with the grumpy one and your pet will be in very good hands. read more

Dr. Bill is a compassionate, highly skilled/experienced vet; not in it for the $. He has always listened to & worked w/ me re/ each cats special situation. Dr. Runnels is a fantastic surgeon & equally compassionate. In fact, all staffers are true animal ppl w/ compassion not only for the animal, but also the parents' emotional state, & our sad, but necessary need for 3 unannounced euthanasia over the past 1.5 yrs. Dr. Bill, Runnels, & Newman have all gone the extra mile to communicate, even if after hrs., work along w/ us, & never force treatment or tests upon us. Dr. Bill is the best veterinarian I've ever had the pleasure of working with on my dogs. He doesn't pressure you in to making any decisions in terms of running tests on your animals. He simply lays out all the options, gives his suggestions as to where he would start and leaves it up to you. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Literally the nicest veterinarians and veterinary staff I've ever met. I'm a cat person and over the years I've visited vets who are great with dogs but not as much with cats. Lititz Veterinary Clinic is great with all animals, big or small. They also understand that people are on budgets and love their pets, but can't always shell out a ton of money for specialists etc... they don't make you feel guilty if you don't want to go to Philadelphia for some type of expensive specialized treatment if you can't afford the time, distance, and money. read more

Dr Bill is wonderful and very caring for both the animals and the owners. That being said, his staff sucks and his receptionist needs to learn that in her job, she either needs to be friendlier to deal with clients or switch jobs. His receptionist is so horrible that after 10 years of service from dr bill, we had to take all 3 of our animals and switch to neffsville vet where not only did our babies get immediate and thorough treatment, but they were better priced and didn't act like we were bothering them. If dr bill would fire his idiot answering the phones, he may have a chance. Sadly, as she has been there for quite some time, I see her taking his business down. read more

Dr.Bill is really amazing and kind. He's helped both of my cats, and has been very caring with them and me. I'm so happy to have him near by. The front desk staff is also very nice. Dr runnels is also great helping my boy through his surgeries. Only thing I'd love for them to get is a bigger waiting area, since they do get very busy. read more

We've put our pets health in the hands of Dr. Bill and his staff for the last 15 years and I would and do recommend them to everyone who has a pet in need of attention. I have read some of the reviews and understand that health diagnoses is a tricking business and even more so when in comes to animals and LVC has been spot on with everything we have encountered with our dogs and cats. In addition to being a great vet, Bill goes above and beyond for the community. While he would never tell promote it, he I sure he has countless hours and resources helping those in the community that need it - pet care and otherwise. I believe the receptionist has been worked on her "people skills" and would ask that we give her a bit of a break. Often times the office is slammed and she is doing multiple tasks at once which can be a bit trying. This is a place that truly cares about your pets which shows in both their treatment of your animals and the many accommodations and thanks you letters posted on the walls of the office. read more

I used to go to this vet in the past but after my recent experience, never again. In fact, I actually just created my Yelp account in order to warn others. Let's begin with the staff. Every time I call, and I do mean every single time, the receptionist is as nasty as can be. She snaps, does not give informative answers or reasons, and is overall just a bitter person to deal with. I figured, perhaps, that she was just rude with me for some peculiar reason but my sister also used to go to this vet (she no longer does because of past issues) and said she is like this with her every time, also. What really disgusts me about this vet, though, is a recent event--the event that made me decide to never return to this veterinary office. My dog recently began acting oddly and displayed seizure-like symptoms. This happened for only a short period of time and then he was fine. I decided it was time to take him into the vet for a checkup to see if everything was fine when suddenly, he got worse. Minutes earlier, he had been playing, barking, and growling, acting like a usual dog, when out of the blue, he began acting weird and listless. He would yelp every time he moved, was extremely fatigued, and acted confused, like he was unaware of where he was. It got to the point that I truly thought he was going to die :( I had to bring him in to be seen. Being a part-time worker and having had my hours recently cut on top of that, I could not afford a huge bill. I called this vet and explained the situation, even told the receptionist that I believed my dog may be dying. She was as nasty as ever. Not to mention, unhelpful. I asked if there was anyway I could have my dog seen that day and make payments on the treatment. At very least, I could afford the initial checkup, but I was not sure if surgery would be required or not and said I could make payments for the followup treatments. The vet refused to see my dog. After being told that I thought he was dying, and they refused to help. I understand many vets will not see an animal unless the owner is able to pay for the bill upfront but they refused to even give my dog a checkup, which would have been payed for upfront. I will never again go to this vet and I regret every single cent I gave to this greedy business. Pet caregivers beware. read more

As noted below - their Receptionist, Kay, is the Rudest receptionist I've ever dealt with on the phone in 40 yrs., Period! Hangs up on me, before I can even say hello, twice! Granted I'm calling from a cell, but doesn't even wait to see if there is someone talking or just a bad connection. Also, makes No Apologies for hanging-up on me twice! I've been less than impressed w/the service to date for my ailing cat! Technician I spoke with regarding my cat was all over the place with what could be the issue and didn't offer a clear next step! But, bottom line, there is No Excuse for this "Receptionist Kay" and can thank her for the loss of another customer! I took my dog to Lititz Veterinary Clinic because of its close proximity to my home. Only there was I told my last vet misdiagnosed his back aches and he needed his anal glands expressed. I trusted their professional opinion and continued to have his glands expressed. After 3 years of anal expressions monthly, they told me after a routine visit he had a "pea sized" mass in his rectum. Please be aware I have never in 3 years witnessed his anal glands being done because they always "took him to the back" they immediately suggested surgery and full removal of his anal glands and the mass. They were urgent and I believed their urgency was them looking out for my beloved dog and wanted to trust in their opinion. I met with 2 of their vets on different occasions and both insisting that surgery is the only way to make sure "it's all gone" and to determine if it is cancer. The next time I took my dog in for anal gland expression they said the mass either grew or that's there's another one in there. I assumed surgery was the best choice and got bloodwork done as the preliminary steps to helping my pup. Something just never sat right with the idea of surgery. I took my dog for a second opinion and very thorough examination at Neffsville Animal Hospital and they did things much different than Lititz Animal Clinic. They did everything in front of me. They did a very thorough and at eye level examination. They took time to explain good choices and how his anal gland irritation could be an allergy and they told me after 3 rectal examinations (the dogs also get lube here) that he had no tumors. They also looked at the very sore mass on his paw and actually prescribed medicine to fix it. Lititz animal clinic told me it's just something I'll have to deal with and suggested a warm compress for it. And NVH took his temperature, LVC did not. I do not like the idea of bad mouthing a vet, but I LOVE my dog and I'd love anyone's dog the same so I feel it is necessary to advocate for all our voiceless companions. I want the absolute best for him, and I do not want to see anyone get the run around and unnecessary stress that this practice gave me. Plus, I'd hate for any animal to get the same ill treatment that my dog endured. Please avoid this practice. read more

I highly recommend these folks! I had a rather sick dog and they got us in, as new patients no less, in a matter of a few hours. From the moment we entered the building until we left we were treated so kindly. They really do care about animals. Dr. Hockenberry was kind, patient, and explained everything. We were lucky enough to find Dr. Runnels for the care of our 11 year old Brussel Griffon. Our dog had developed osteomyelitis of the right eye. Dr. Runnels was recommended. I have found her to be not only a skilled surgeon, but a person that genuinely cares. My wife and I are very grateful to her. Dr. Runnels and Dr. Whittaker truly deserve five stars!! As do the rest of their staff. My dog was referred to Dr. Runnels by our previous vet when he was suffering from prolonged anal gland infections and expressing them was just not doing the trick. We were referred to either Lititz or a surgeon in Philadelphia. Well luckily we live in Lititz so it was a no brainer. the surgery went off with out a hitch but because the infection was so prolonged by our previous vet wanting to just treat the symptoms and not get to the root of the problem, he ended up with extensive internal damage related to the infectious tissue. Surgery number two was performed again by Dr. Runnels to correct fistula tunnels and he was a happy dog for another three years. Unfortunately with fistulas they can certainly rear their ugly head and again Dr. Runnels corrected the problem. Needless to say Lititz Veterinarian Clinic saved my dogs life three times!! If your interested in just seeing a "pill pusher" vet this is not the place for you. If you want your pets to get the best care by EXPERIENCED veterinarians this is the place to go. They are skilled surgeons and we were lucky to have them so close by. read more
