Friendly face on a recent birthday

So the hotel is old and there does not seem to be any riff raff hanging around. So you do feel safe, parking lots are lit with lights after dark. The inside of the rooms are big and spacious. The beds are comfortable and more importantly No bugs. The maid service is the one bright spot, As they do their job, the room. Is clean and always fresh Staff was and have been helpful. The trolly center is about 2 blocks from here. And with that service you get around San Diego without all the traffic. Hotel is 70 dollars per night. Soda machine, no laundry facilities. But 5 blocks walk or a 4 minute drive and e is a large laundry..Starbucks is by the trolly station. Over all I would recommend this spot to both friends and relatives.

    Clearly can see it's blood

Horrible hotel and absolutely disgusting health standards!!! We came to town for a concert. At first we thought oh well this is just a cheap motel, we can deal with it for 1 night. Absolutely NOT. There was evidence of blood on our comforters (multiple beds) ... roaches in the bathroom... just unbelievable. The manager was great, apologized and handled the situation. But just the fact that the housekeeper obviously didn't care and the facility didn't follow proper cleaning and sanitizing was disgusting.

Walking into the hotel to check in was a very unwelcoming energy, but as soon at the door opened to my hotel (111) i was absolutely disgusted, there was dark brown staining on the bathroom walls, staining on the sheets, a dirty floor but above all a bathroom with no door handle ( wish i could say i was joking). On the contrary the price is 100% reasonable but personally, i would never stay here again.

Chula Vista is a cute neighborhood. The hotel promised quit settings , the smoke store and 7-11 across from it made me doubt that when we first arrived but it turned out to be totally true. The neighborhood is super safe and has everything you will EVER need right on 3rd. The lady running this hotel is super organized. We booked the largest room as we had a 4 night stay. The bed and pillow were cozy. Towels ample in the bathroom. The parking lot on the side dedicated to guests was a life line and so practical. Water pressure and temp were perfect. Spacious bathroom. Cute and large outdoor space. Coffee and tea for guests ready in the lobby every morning. I appreciated that the other guests were equally as quiet as that as it is an old building and you can hear other folks' convo from room to room. As it is often the case no matter how expensive your hotel is. Five star if the trash had been emptied and the bathroom had had a refresh. Booking was easy , payment taken on arrival , easy check out. We'll be back.

We were so fortunate that my Mom found this Holiday Inn. Our front desk attendant Ramona was phenomenal and extremely hospitable! A majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was welcomed back almost every night upon returning from my long day of fun by another sweet lady pulling the night shift. Everywhere from the complimentary breakfast room, (open from 6-9:30am) to the elevator, to our room was exceptionally clean. I even peeked in the fitness room and all the stations were well-kept. This Holiday Inn had a medium-sized pull perfect for sun- bathing. Everything about this hotel was convenient. I had some stuff to do for work and forgot my laptop, thankfully they had a desktop in the lobby which allowed me to submit a few documents to my employer. The soap dispensers in the shower and near the sink are high quality and easy to pump. However, what I love the most is this Holiday Inn's proximity to the E Street Metro Station. Each morning it would take about 8 mins to walk to the station from the hotel and I would be off to the convention center within 15-20 mins. My only complaint would be the showers and cost. The shower's plug would not drain correctly and I was forced to take a "bath", which was kind of gross. I don't like standing in my own bath water. As for cost, this location is uber expensive, we paid almost $1,500 for 5 nights. At least parking was free? Overall, I felt very safe at Chula Vista's Holiday Inn. Furthermore, the beds were some of the best in the business. I would return on a non-SDCC weekend. I think they increased their prices for the con. Side note; The breakfast bar was really GOOD! They had snack bags. eggs, biscuits & gravy, waffles, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, juice and more!

We weren't about to make the 130 mile trip back home late at night, so we booked this place (as did my brother-in-law and my other cousin's son (and his GF, hmmmm...) Close to the border in CV, this roadside motel sits inside the driveway to a gas station. Yup, I almost missed it when my nav told me to turn into the gas station. There's ample parking; almost empty when we checked in, though we were surprised that when we returned after our party that the lot was pretty full. The guy at the desk was really nice but wasn't too familiar with any local attractions (we went to Sea World the next day). We volunteered to bring Little Caesars pizza to the party and he did know where that was. In fact, just one exit south off the freeway you'll find a bunch of fast food restaurants and Little Caesars. The room rate was fair for a two queen bed room and a simple breakfast is included. The room was what you would expect from a roadside motel, fairly clean, super simple and basic. The location next to the freeway added to the endless din that made its way through the single pane windows. Partiers who drove the 4 miles across the border to party in TJ made a ton of noise up to 4am, but I won't complain. Just bc I have 4 kids doesn't mean I don't like to have a good time, too. When we packed up the truck to leave, we did smell smoke and it appeared that a homeless person was burning a small on the other side of the wall between the motel and the freeway (no doubt to warm up on a 48F morning... We thought of calling downstairs but considering it was a holiday weekend we anticipated no other room availability. When we checked out we spoke to the front desk attendant, who came across as completely uninterested in our compliant and his demeanor was completely unprofessional. All he did was hand us a business card for a manager Daniel Escalante. We proceeded to file a formal complaint --resulting in an offer for "reward points!" No thank you we want partial or full reimbursement for this catastrophic experience. Absolutely a NEVER again go back and we have had numerous good experiences with this company. We are awaiting a call back from someone in the customer service department as soon as this coming week.

I called the Hercor desk that morning of check-in to advise of an urgent inability to travel, but since the reservation was pre-paid/non-refundable I would offer my room to another of the traveling family. Sent the message through Expedia to advise the name who would use the 2nd night of my booking, and followed up with a call to the front desk. The clerk told me that my reservation had been canceled for 'no show'. What? I had said I called the previous day to advise, and followed the instructions given. The clerk refused, unwilling to made amends or re-open the booking to use the room that I had already paid for. I kindly asked she push my request up for review/approval, but did not hear back. I called Expedia on that cancellation, they too called the hotel. Expedia said I needed to call the hotel directly and ask for the manager, after the holiday. I did that, and yet still no response, or any sort of acknowledgement. I am not looking for a refund, only a little kindness and empathy for helping travelers in need. I suppose when they already have your money, they don't have to care.

We were never informed of this fee, nor was it itemized during check-in or on the third-party receipt. While the amount is small, these types of undisclosed fees feel like a fraudulent business tactic. It's disappointing to see Choice Hotels International, Inc. following this trend. They lost a customer and future word-of-mouth recommendations over a dollar. I'm grateful the fee wasn't larger, but it's the principle that matters.

Well, the 1st time we stay here was last year and our experience wasn't bad but also not the best lol our toilet wouldn't flush, then the tub was dirty and yes we reported and got it fix. So this year 7/4/26 we thought we could give it another shot. Well this will definitely be the last lol room curtains are horrible, dirty! We found some very disgusting left over food on the carpet under the bed. When we check in the receptionist told us we needed to request room service if we wanted/needed. Well the next day the cleaners came and we didn't request it, we were ok with it but they told us the day before that we did needed to request it, so not sure what happen there. And the doors were hard to open, front door and bathroom needed to be push hard to open, like push! lol and we were assigned a room right in front of the elevator and gosh it was so annoying when we went to bed. We could hear people come and go and the elevator! Also the microwave had this very funky smell. We decided to not use it at all, the coffee machine also had a funky smell. Breakfast wasn't the best, eggs were salty, waffle maker took for ever, and they didn't have much options. The pool was ok, except that our 2nd day going in the pool, one of the hotel workers came and told us he was going to pour some bleach while my kids were inside! I don't know if that's safe or not but I had my kids (4yrs n 7yrs) get out and wait a bit over hour before I let them go back inside. So yeah we are definitely not staying here again and don't bother to stay here if you are looking into doing it so! Don't!! And if you do, MAKE SURE the room is ACTUALLY CLEAN!! Yes every detail matters!
