If you want to ruin your jewelry and throw your money away, this is the perfect place, the owner is the worst person there is to serve, I brought a silver chain to have it fixed, he did the worst job I have ever seen in chain repairs, it was a disgusting job, he ruined an inch of my chain which is very special to me, when I complained he became aggressive, he broke it again, he yelled at me and rudely threw me out of the store when I asked for compensation for having damaged an inch of the chain (I think a small compensation for the inch of he damage was fair.) The chain is no longer flexible in that part, it is completely ruined. Honestly he should be ashamed of the disgusting work he does, if this type of repairs does not know how to do things, he should be honest and say that he does not know how to repair before damaging them. read more

I'm new to the area and this place popped up as one of the top jewelers in the Escondido area. I did more research and wanted to check this place out primarily because of the high YELP reviews. I came in for a few reasons: 1) The backing of a pearl earring given to me by my grandma fell off so I was hoping they could repair it. 2) I wanted to purchase a new gold chain. 3) I wanted to inquire about custom jewelry. When I came in I was approached by an older man, heavier set with an accent. He came at me with a "what do you want" attitude. I didn't see any other worker and there was one other customer in the store. I told him about the pearl earring and how the backing fell off. He asked to look at it so I gave it to him. They were in a pouch for safe keeping. It looked like he was having a hard time opening the pouch and started to curse in another language! When he finally got it out he told me to super glue it back on. That was it! He seemed to be in a rush. He was very short with me and I got the sense that he was annoyed. So I asked him if he was in a hurry and that I could come back at another time. He said no it was okay (though clearly based on his tone and body language I did not get the sense that "it was okay"). So, I asked him about a gold chain. I told him that I wanted a shorter chain than what I had on now and a different design. He said the one I had is 20 inches. I asked him if they had any chains that I could look at it and he just pointed to the area. After I looked at the direction he was pointing then back at him he then preceded to unlock the case and take out the chains. He handed me one and it was 22 inches. I already felt like I wasn't wanted and that he was annoyed I was there and now I figured that he really wasn't listening to what I was saying. He said that they didn't have any chains shorter and that I was the first person to ever ask him for a shorter chain than 20 inches. I asked if they had any more somewhere else and he said we would have to order it. He pulled out a book and showed me two inside. I got the sense that he wanted me to leave so I asked him again that I can come back and even schedule an appointment next time because he seemed busy (again, there was one other gentleman there). He said again, "no it's okay". I asked him about custom jewelry and that's when he said "look, I need a drawing of what you want, do you have that". And I explained not yet because I was hoping to get his insight. He basically shooed me away. As I was leaving I can hear him apologizing to the other gentleman (which he periodically did while I was there). I kept asking him if I should come back and I don't mind making an appointment. But honestly, I was taken aback by the customer service. I felt like I wasn't wanted, not listened to and not given the time of day. I was hoping to establish a good relationship with a jeweler since I am new to the area. I don't think I would be coming back to this one. This was just my experience, and clearly other people had a better one. I felt compelled to write about my experience because I just felt really disrespected and unwanted here. read more

What an awful experience I just had at this jewelers. I waited almost 15 min to have a battery put in my watch. He tried for a few seconds and said he couldn't get the back off! I felt like he didn't want my business when there were others waiting for more expensive jewelry business. Don't offer batteries if you can't be professional about it! How can you not get a back off a watch. I do not recommend this place, and will not be going back. read more

My dad, who passed away 11 years ago this May, always shopped at Palomar Jewelers and became fast friends with Tony. Terrible! I brought my grandma's ring, a family heirloom for 4 generations, after she passed and I inherited it, to have it sized. It was perfectly fine and had been worn by all the women in my family for 4 generations! First of all he sized it wrong, it is way too big and not able to be worn because it will fall off my finger, which is the whole point of having it sized! Additionally to him NOT sizing my ring properly, WHICH I PAID HIM FOR, HE BROKE 3 PRONGS ON THE RING! So I cannot wear it, and now I have to find another jeweler who actually knows what he's doing to fix the ring which wasn't even broken before he got ahold of it, I am out the money that I paid him TO BREAK MY RING and size it wrong, and now I have to pay someone else to hopefully fix the damage caused to my family heirloom. And when I picked it up and noticed there was a prong standing straight up, he didn't even apologize and just bent it back down SIDEWAYS with his machine.
