For Luis Valdez - Esco and Cesar Valdez - Oceanside. Okay, where do I even begin. I was NOT going to buy anything today. I just came to look. And there was no pressure at all when began speaking with Luis. He had a cool, easygoing nature and, even though I research a lot about precious stones and metals, I learned a couple of new things from him. Had to leave and come back but by then Luis was out to lunch. So, I spoke with a manager, Cesar. Same easygoing disposition. Long story short, I walked out with two amazingly stellar rings, the exact thing I was looking for and at the price I wanted. Not only did Luis and Cesar give me an amazing price for extremely high-quality rings, THEY WERE STEAM CLEANED. I couldn't believe how much they sparkled. Of course I had to walk out with them on. And even so, they STILL gave me for each ring, a ring box, a gift box for the ring box, and a cute gift bag complete with tissue! I have been a customer of Gems N Loans for many years now. I have spent a substantial amount of money there and always been very happy with my experences. A few weeks ago I brought in a gold bangle for a repair quote. I was told they could fix the break in my bangle and quoted me a price of $80.00. I went for it. I picked up the piece ,it looked good but within 24hrs it had broke again. I brought it back to Gems N loan fixed it again and after pick up it broke again. When I spoke to the store manager he informed me that the piece was un repairable. That I should just melt it down. All in a text message. I expressed that would have appreciated knowing this opinion at the time of the quote. I got zero feedback from him in his text comunication. So I called to and left a message for him and again no call back. Which screams we don't care that about your bussiness. The place appears to be under new management. Totally new look with a terrible customer service model. I will not be returning there and do not recomend. read more

I was going to buy my Christmas gifts here today but man I miss the old staffs. The new staffs are not very friendly, not nice no customer service at all. Of course I'll bargain. It's a pawnshop! Pretty cool shop. They always have something interesting there to look at and their prices are too notch. I've been dealing with Fermin for years now. Everyone is pretty cool but Fermin has kept it solid ever since I went in for my first pawn. Ice also purchase many things from Fermin. Guitars, jewelry, watches, DVDs, random tools I didn't need but now am glad I have. I went in last week because I heard he was in esco now. I drove from oside to esco just to deal with Fermin And check out the deals in his new store. Definitely worth the drive. I spent over $5k in jewelries. Returned one watch for repair as they promised. Apparently customer service does not continue with Diana when service is free! Take care of your customers if you want to keep getting business with them! I will never buy from this shop again. I am very disappointed! The only positive on this place is they are open sundays. I have a 2ct. Ring on loan here. They gave me $500 less to begin with than another shop in town had less than a year ago. But I accepted the amount as I needed the money. Stopped in there one day in dire straights, stuck in Escondido without gas. I asked for a $50 increase on the existing loan and not only did they say no, the jeweler has the balls to tell me he would down grade the original appraisal on the ring when he's the one who did the original appraisal. So I sat in the parking lot crying b cause I had no gas and another customer came out and gave me a $20 bill for gas. God bless her soul! I made it home and I will pay my loan off with these yo-yos this week and not return to them. They pay way less than their competitors and the resale prices are way too high. Boo read more

Took the pieces to Gems N Loans in Escondido, was treated very fairly, they asked me what I was looking for, I told them and without hesitation agreed with me.
