Within three months of taking the medication, I had a severe Achilles tendon injury and developed acute pain in both of my shoulders and elbows. I've never had these issues before. Adkins mentioned nothing about these very common side-effects. In addition, when I talked about a separate, "sensitive" issue, his tone changed, and I felt very uncomfortable--judged might be a better term. Furthermore, although I had told the receptionist about several issues I was having when I made my appointment, Adkins cut me off after only 15 min., and I was not able to discuss my other health issues. I was asked to make another appointment. The only available slot was in three months and would be another co--pay and insurance billing. Had I been given better information, I would have put off taking a statin until I was older and less active. I also have questions about why some of my issues were not billed as "preventative" when they clearly were. Needless to say, I have changed doctors. I do not recommend Dr. Adkins. I'm switching to direct primary care. PS. I don't blame Dr. Adkins fully for all of this. I also blame a failing health care systemin which he works.

He is quick at responding to these messages and if it is something that requires an official visit, he will kindly ask you to come in to discuss it further.

If I still wanted to be seen, I'd have to rebook and wait again. I called Gritman Urology in case I'd accidentally been put on Dr. Smith's schedule, but I wasn't listed there either. Gritman suggested my appointment may have been lost when Palouse Urology and Gritman Urology split into separate clinics earlier this year, but said they could get me booked sooner than Palouse Urology could, so I transferred my care there. Fingers crossed that Dr. Smith's office runs a little more smoothly.

While the treatment was good, I am extremely disappointed in the character of Dr. Boyer.

First, I got a text a week prior to the visit where I was able to check in, provide my medical history, medications and pay my copay. This saved a lot of time and paperwork when I arrived for the. The front office team members were friendly, courteous and expertly answered some questions I had. They made me feel welcome. The building and office were modern and comfortable with plenty of free parking. Trey, my Medical Assistant was also really nice, did an efficient job of taking my vitals, and listened attentively to me when I answered questions about the reason for my visit, medical history and meds. He also made me feel welcome and comfortable. Finally, Dr. Capawana is wonderful! He, too, was very attentive in listening to me, never interrupted or rushed me, and thoroughly examined my toe and foot. He explained my diagnosis in terms I understood clearly, answered my questions, explained my treatment options, treated my toenail issue painlessly and expertly, and provided me with very clear post-treatment care instructions. He's extremely nice, professional, communicative and compassionate. In summary, Pullman Foot & Ankle is outstanding! I was experiencing blood sugar swings that were impacting my heart rate and making me have frequent waves of feeling awful. These hypo and hyper swings were being recorded on a Dexcom continuous blood sugar monitor. She said she didn't believe that I was having blood sugar swings. I offered to share the Dexcom readings which make it easy to share the data with your doctor. She refused to receive them. I had an appointment with an endocrinologist that was five months out. I asked if she could utilize the specialist consultation service she advertises for just such occasions and she refused. When I was finally able to see the endocrinologist, they did labs, adjusted my thyroid medication, added a thyroid medication, added another hormone supplement and after 10 months of suffering I was feeling great again within a week. If you try Dr. Jones and you feel she is dismissing you, trust yourself and find someone else.

He will go above and beyond to ensure that not just the patient, but the patient's family feels comfortable with treatment decisions and valued as part of the "team."
