Good place for a flame grilled burger and fries, both of which are quite tasty. They also have hotdogs and a chicken sandwich, plus some shakes. It's a pretty small menu, which is why they can serve food so quickly. I think it took longer for us to order than to get the food. Drinks are very reasonably priced at $1.29, while burgers are $4-5 each and a large fry will run you $3.50. No combo meals, everything is priced individually. Expect to pay about $8-10 per person. They have no inside area or seating (drive thru only), but do have a few parking spots where you can eat in your car. Sometimes the drive thru line backs up into the road, but the line moves quick. What a fun and pleasant surprise! I solely chose this place based on the wacky name. But the place is cute, service is done quickly and with a smile and the food was legitimately good! Better than most fast food in general. I got pal burger. It was HUGE. The Frenchie fries were good. (Used to have a cat named Frenchie whom we called "Frenchie fries" so I found this endearing) My son loved his plain toasted cheese and my husbands jr burger was good too. The service is quite fast I've got to give them that. This is an East Tennessee cult favorite, but I've never really gotten the hype. The fries are seasoned if you're into that and the burgers and giant. I order the junior burger which is a more normal size for a fast food restaurant. I have no problem with the burgers, but I also wouldn't necessarily suggest them but as far as the milkshakes, it seems they take the vanilla shake and add syrup with many times the syrup being overwhelming, so would not really suggest. read more

When I lived in Washington state for a year, I literally had dreams about eating at Pal's again, and while also kind of sad (really, that's what I dream about?), it points to the ultimate truth, which is that Pal's is awesome. The service at any Pal's is fast, and I mean fast. Even when the line is backed up, I usually don't have time to get my cash ready before I'm suddenly up at the pay window. The staff is very friendly, and the inside is spotlessly clean, from all accounts I've been given. Second: The price. Pal's is cheap, for what you get. I can get a full meal here for under five dollars, and be full by the end, which is rare these days. Third: The food. Lawdy, lawdy, the food. Sure, it isn't healthy (the sheen of lovely grease and twinkle of seasoning salt says otherwise), but who cares? Their Frenchie Fries are flat-out addictive, their burgers are glorious, and even the hot dogs are tasty. Their chicken option, the Big Chicken, is a nice change of pace if you're sick of burgers, with its deli-style cut meat, mustard sauce, and cheese. I've also heard that their cheddar rounds are glorious, but I have yet to try them. Last, but not least: The tea. The sheer size, and price of their iced teas (peachy, razzleberry, and regular, I believe) make them a winner, not to mention the taste. They come in a ridiculously sized Styrofoam cup (that environment thing is on its own, apparently), and cost around 75 cents, if I recall correctly. I can feel my arteries clogging as I write this. Pals has awesome french fries. That would be my reason for going here. Why are they good? Because they're always fresh and hot. They sprinkle them with seasoning salt, which also helps make them extra tasty. For a drive through, fast food joint, this place is quite good. It's also extremely clean inside from what I hear. My only complaint is that I don't eat beef and that's the majority of the menu. There is one chicken option, but it's just deli meat and nothing special and I don't like the cheese that comes on it. The menu is very limited. Their milkshakes are good though, and I come here just for fries and milkshakes. If you like burgers, I hear they are good, but I can't say from first hand experience. read more

I work on Morris Boulevard and usually stop in at Pal's at least once a week. Their burgers, fries, and hot dogs can't be beat. The burgers are always hot and fresh, the cheese melted just right and their fries have seasoning salt on them for that special flavor. It is a drive thru only but you can park and eat in your car. Great food!! If you are a cheeseburger lover, you are definitely going to want to check them out. Oh--one last thing. Pal's is one of the friendliest places in town. "The best fast food burger...ever" There are only 4 of these mythical restaurants in the world and they are all located in East Tennessee. This on in Morristown is closest to Knoxville and I have driven the 1.5 hours roun trip just to get a Big Pal with Cheese. These burgers are remarkable; a absolute must try if you notice the giant burger and fries on the side of the building. Pal's is the only fast food chain to win the Presidential Seal of Excellence: that good! The big pal with cheese combined with their devilishly seasoned french fries and a peach sweet tea will send you to a high cholesterol nirvana. I've heard that the average drive thru time is 56 seconds at Pal's, thus the "sudden service". Even if you're a vegan, you owe it to yourself to try one of these burgers before you die. read more

If you've never been to Pal's you have to got to eat here. It's a drive through only restaurant but they have spaces for you eat in your car. The Big Pal has to be the best hamburger I've ever eaten and the fries ain't bad either. The sweet tea is great and the chipped ham sandwich is like nothing you've ever eaten before. Traveling home from Gatlinburg I remembered we had to stop at Pals. I've only had it once before and knew this would be our only opportunity for awhile. I convinced my husband the 40 min detour would be worth it and I was right! The burgers are great! Juicy and flavorful. Even the plain burger was given high marks which for a fast food place is saying something. The frenchie frys were great and how can you not smile when you say or you hear someone say frenchie fry! I came here from the rave reviews, usually sit down at fast food rather than drive thru. It happens that being on the S. side of AJ Hwy and drivers being on the left that it nicely places you on the shady side to pay and collect. Had a Jr. burger w/cheese, it has real tomato and onion and is a good sized sandwich, maybe about the size of a Whopper, so if you normally eat one that size then the Big Pal might be too much. Had a few fries when they were hot and crisp but after they got passed through the back seat they were nothing special. Shake was a typical machine blender product, OK for the price but nothing unique. read more
