NEWPORT, TN 37821 / AMERICAN FARE / 09-28-23 / LUNCH +The prime rib sandwich was delicious. The bread was freshly-baked and super soft. +Customer service was excellent. -The fresh-cut fries were re-fried. -The floors were a bit sticky/slippery.

Wow- this may single handedly been the least expensive family meal we have had on vacation and it was the best food! Kids meals were mini corn dogs (perfectly cooked and not a lb of breading!) and grilled cheese with a side of mac n cheese. My burger was flavorful & Juicy- also cooked perfectly- and my husband got the fried shrimp with crinkle fries - nothing over fried! Wow. Follow your GPS - as it is a little hidden and be careful turning in up the hill that you don't bottom out. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is super cute- light and farmhouse decor- Service was attentive, pleasant, and inviting. Next time we are in TN this will definitely be on the must hit list!

    Tall frosty water with lemon

Food was great and the service was amazing. Being a smart aleck, I usually ask for an"tall frosty water with lemon" when I do lunch or dinner for work. Our server Jessie brought out a frosted glass and a glass of water with lemon. I was floored, in my years of travel never has that happened. I recommend them if traveling through TN, it is a couple of miles off of I-40 but well worth the stop.

We had the fish and chips, lobster bao buns, grilled Caesar salad with salmon, and a lobster roll with Nashville hot seasoning. The bao buns were small but packed with flavor. I wish the buns were a little softer, but they held together well with the delicious lobster mix. The grilled Caesar salad was fantastic. Fresh dressing, perfectly cooked salmon, and just really well balanced. Honestly, every dish landed. The real star of the night was the Biscoff cheesecake. Big, fluffy, thick, and just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. Absolutely worth saving room for. Service was impeccable, and the music playing from the owner's personal playlist was nostalgic for me as someone from New York. It gave the whole place a really fun, comfortable vibe.

Served with four different toppings along with crackers and hot sauce. Very delicious. We also had the main lobster roll, which was much better than expected. Loss of variety on the menu. A friend had the Korean barbecue wings, which were enormous. A full meal on its own. The mahi was very average, but still better than I expected. Service was fast and a fun vibe with lots of TVs and a large outdoor patio. A little overpriced, but I would go back.

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and I believe there's also a bar area. We were seated right away, which was a great start. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from appetizers and gumbo to customizable seafood boils with different seasoning and spice options. Before our meal, they brought out their cheesy crab bread, and unfortunately I didn't snap a picture because we all devoured it within minutes. It was that good! I ordered a half pound of crawfish, a half pound of snow crab legs, and a lobster tail with the Cajun seasoning, "Make It Hot." Everything was delicious! The snow crab legs were packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the lobster tail--it was incredibly meaty, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The boil also came with sausage, corn, and potatoes, making it a hearty meal. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Amanda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often, cleared the table as we finished, and gave great recommendations when we had questions about the menu. If I ever find myself back in Tennessee, I'd definitely come back to Storming Crab!
