NEWPORT, TN 37821 / AMERICAN FARE / 09-28-23 / LUNCH +The prime rib sandwich was delicious. The bread was freshly-baked and super soft. +Customer service was excellent. -The fresh-cut fries were re-fried. -The floors were a bit sticky/slippery.

Wow- this may single handedly been the least expensive family meal we have had on vacation and it was the best food! Kids meals were mini corn dogs (perfectly cooked and not a lb of breading!) and grilled cheese with a side of mac n cheese. My burger was flavorful & Juicy- also cooked perfectly- and my husband got the fried shrimp with crinkle fries - nothing over fried! Wow. Follow your GPS - as it is a little hidden and be careful turning in up the hill that you don't bottom out. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is super cute- light and farmhouse decor- Service was attentive, pleasant, and inviting. Next time we are in TN this will definitely be on the must hit list!

    Tall frosty water with lemon

Food was great and the service was amazing. Being a smart aleck, I usually ask for an"tall frosty water with lemon" when I do lunch or dinner for work. Our server Jessie brought out a frosted glass and a glass of water with lemon. I was floored, in my years of travel never has that happened. I recommend them if traveling through TN, it is a couple of miles off of I-40 but well worth the stop.

The manager (I think his name was Dave?) saw us waiting up front and came over to make sure we'd been helped.... And chatted with us until the host came back in to seat us. Our server was MaKayla, and she was an absolute delight! Such a good personality and an absolute gem! She made sure we had everything we needed (including multiple trips to get me more lemons for my crab plate lol)! Drinks were refilled quickly too. She was also very respectful, helpful and kind with our adult son who has special needs -- she listened patiently as he ordered (in GREAT detail lol), brought him to-go containers (& cup) and just honestly made him feel seen and heard! I had the snow crab platter, which was very obviously fresh (found out they have trucks bringing them in fresh from Maine 3 times per week!). Such good crab! They even had the little scissors which made shelling it so much quicker and easier! My husband had flounder and fries and then fish tacos and a shrimp taco - BIG tacos! Our son chose the Korean chicken wings and fries -- the wings were VERY BIG too.... We all left very full and even with some to take home with us. Would definitely rate this place 10/10!

Sits on the lake at a marina and a hidden gem. Lots of patio seating and decent amount of seating inside. Full bar though we didn't try it this trip. Needed water and food due to the heat of the day. Since it was after 8pm we were able to walk on and be seated right away. Decent size menu with both fish and burgers and wings to choose from. The salads also looked good. Opted for these tacos. Look at them. At this hour they look like the pix in the menu. I was amazed at the appearance but wowed by the flavor. So this is a hard shell in a soft shell with the most delectable filling I have had in a while. Lots of shrimp and the other items all blended for an amazing harmony of flavors. Definitely glad I changed at th last moment and went with these. Delicious!!! The onion rings were pretty and fluffy but not my style. Still good but at that hour too much breading. Service was very good. Parking seems to be split between upper and lower since you are on the side of a bank going down to the lake. The restaurant was clean and bright and is probably a hoping place on the weekends.

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and I believe there's also a bar area. We were seated right away, which was a great start. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from appetizers and gumbo to customizable seafood boils with different seasoning and spice options. Before our meal, they brought out their cheesy crab bread, and unfortunately I didn't snap a picture because we all devoured it within minutes. It was that good! I ordered a half pound of crawfish, a half pound of snow crab legs, and a lobster tail with the Cajun seasoning, "Make It Hot." Everything was delicious! The snow crab legs were packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the lobster tail--it was incredibly meaty, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The boil also came with sausage, corn, and potatoes, making it a hearty meal. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Amanda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often, cleared the table as we finished, and gave great recommendations when we had questions about the menu. If I ever find myself back in Tennessee, I'd definitely come back to Storming Crab!
